vichead. If you want there is now an easier way to update the Starview 2 as of today and it is this The Box UK Fix Ver 4.55 051208 you will find it in Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of my post, courtesy of scOuser, try both methods, the new easier way and if no joy then the box to box method.

I have got to go and down load fireware to my sister and her two daughters boxes.

I can say it is a very good morning now because dear friend the new fireware done the trick, a very quick way of doing the sv2 I cannot thank you malci and the boys enough keep up the good work.

hi guys,any ideas on what to do here would be greatly appreciated.
i have now changed the plug from the 2 prong to a uk plug,done a factory reset,scanned for channels,and the box is still rebooting every 5 or 6 seconds.
please help!

hey there i have flashed 'thebox' with the latest firmware. i have done a auto scan and it has scanned all the channels however it says data being updated then after 20% it goes to the channel however no pictures appear, then it says data updating again...any help....thanks

press "menu"
then 1570.
make sure you have the EMU "on"
exit...then go to sky sports.

Try a couple of different channels ...failing that turn box off for a minute and then see if it works!!

done that 2 times mate,someone suggested to me that a modulator problem could be whats causing the box to reset?any ideas about that?
im at my wits end!
tried everything!!
just keeps rebooting ,all the chanels are there,i can watch sports etc,but it just keeps re-booting!!

Don't think that is your problem but PAL 1 is the UK setting, there are a few people been having that problem since that box came out, it seems to be a firmware problem, some report that different firmwares solved the problem, but obviously I know that you need the A/U - but that is the correct UK setting.

ok chaps , i got 3 boxes flashed, with 800e s/w ,i am in dublin , after 3 days trying [flash failed]over and over .now one box stuck on data updating 0%,tried manaul input worked on one ,not this one ,and the other updated on its own,tried turning on /off ,power on/off emu on /off
any ideas welcome

My SV3 has always had the reboot 'quirk'. It came with API v8.00e, I tried earlier versions a while ago and it still did it. I was hoping it got sorted with v8.02e, but alas it never. However, maybe it is just my imagination or a coincidence, but it has done it a lot less since this recent flash....just once this week, in fact.
