John that is just an awful explanation of not getting banned. To make it simple there are no bona fide reasons how MS detects modded consoles. Playing single player with your cable in still records that your playing that game just not in online matches. They just tricked everyone this time. They must know how to pinpoint which systems are modded point blank.
Please stop asking the same old type of questions, " if i play with this not plugged in but with this plugged in and with etc etc.. If your console is modded and your playing any backups/downloaded games you can be banned.

multiplayer or not signed in on XBL is the same only diff is the games servers . majornelson.com shows how XBL keeps track of wat u play n when they keep track of ur achievements

To all the peeps that got banned, could you please check if you have tons of games that have 0 Game score...(Gamescore/Game Ratio) this could be another way for M$ to figure out who plays downloaded games, cause most of us tries the games out to see if it works not knowing it also gets registered on our account... just my 2 centz
WORST CASE:
M$ knows who actually uses modded console and just waits for a big game release like GOW 2 and COD WaW do a ban wave... and peeps that have tried COD WaW and GOW 2 would buy another console $$$... ANOTHER MARKETING STRATEGY!!..

So people that rent games and don't play them are potential pirates? I doubt M$ looks into this in that great of detail. I would imagine that this was automated, maybe by something on the game disc reporting to them. That is only speculation.

well i am not banned and my modded xbox 360 is connected through my ehternet as we speak. i stil have my xbox lives running. i always play single player with my xbox lives on. i have had this xbox 360 modded for almost a year and a half now, i never got any problem with banning. u guys don't have to listen to me if u dont want. at least my xbox 360 still has the lives running.

Banned. Two days ago.
3 Consoles I own, 1 of them were banned.

Something that is coming across as a similarity with other people who have been banned. YES I Have played Saint Row 2 Review, Fallout 3, GoW2, CoD5 early.

I have been keeping up with modified consoles for a while, and i read almost every forum out here. especially bannings because i know a lot of people with modded consoles.
Im almost positive that the reason people are getting banned is because they are getting backed up games that are not right.
Im not sure if everyone checks the games they get with abgx but most of the games fail the checks, or even if they pass all the stealth checks the fail the verification with a original game.
How easy is it for microsoft to make a stealth game, release it online before they ship it to stores and just watch people play it.
I have call of duty the allstars release and it shows stealth but when verified is not. So thats a fake game, the bad part is that is has a system update in the game so online, offline, with or without a hard drive, that game just updated my software on my system, and it isnt a copy of a retail game.

Before I ever play a game I wait until I can autofix it with xdvdmulleter before I even think about burning it, but I never actually check the data. I mean of course I am at risk, are you saying that the allstars copy of Call of Duty is still bad? or are you saying that XDVDMulleter can fix the problem?

Wow....this statement is full of incomprehensible and unequivocal nonsense.
Firstly, just because an .iso fails verification in ABGXGUI does not mean it's a bad rip. It only means the database does not contain a verified .ini file that can be downloaded and used to compare against the .iso data. This is particularly prevalent with a new release game because the database has not yet been updated.
Secondly, the Allstars release of COD5 is perfectly stealth. If you knew how to do anything other than press "Launch" in the ABGXGUI you would know that.
Thirdly, the Allstars release is a verified retail copy.
Now some real info:
There are forum members who have been banned because they FAILED to complete the proper stealth checks. For example:

Spumoni only played one backup on live which was the DNL Far Cry 2 release. That release has BAD CRC or game data corruption. This can be verified by selecting the "Check for possible game data corruption" optin in the ABGXGUI's option menu (should be part of your stealth checklist anyway, among many other things. Read up on it.)
DNL then went ahead and released Dead Space and Fable II which also had Bad CRC or game data corruption. Among various other groups and relases there are bad .iso's which M$ could easily detect.
With thorough stealth check practices and the ability to simply read through forums to learn rather than spew forth unfounded babel, you can remain undetected and unbanned.

None of these postings are helping anyone! What we need is to hear if anyone has been banned that hasn't used any of the following review copies that were leaked on the net: Saints Row 2, Fracture, Farcry 2, Fable 2 or Fallout 3. It seems to me that it can't be the copies of COD5 or Gears 2 because a lot of people have played them and still aren't banned. I think its down to the review copies above.
If there is anyone who got banned from Nov 10th till now and hasn't played any of the review copies of games mentioned above please speak up now, because if you have, it looks like microsoft may be able to detect hacked firmware as of now!!!

just checked my gears 2 .iso. It appears the checksum data doesn't match the ini. Its the 360inT release. Looks like i have to reburn(though it doesn't seem necessary sinc ei haven't been banned maybe they just have different checksum data can anyone confirm?). Anyone know if theres a way to clear possible information off the 360 that can flag me?

chcecked my dead space iso same thing(though i don't play online with it) though when i checked my fallout 3 it said the same thing and when i pressed no it then said it checked out. Anyone tell me wtf is going on and how i can be sure? SAme thing with my gears 2 disk after double checking.
ok checked my two different gears files one fixed on not with abgx and the fixed one passes while the failed one does not. any suggestions should i reburn since i use gears online?

Not true, i played GOW2 b4 the oficial release, of course, i never played the online mode although i was online all the time, so i checked last night my account and it was working fine.

I have just spoke to Microsoft customer support ref
' Your ACCOUNT has been banned due to Violating Terms Of Service '
They confirmed to me it is the 360 console which is banned and not my Live Account. The bloke told me the server had automatically banned me and he told me to go buy a new xbox and then do acc recovery e.t.c.
Iam going to go buy another Xbox 360
My question is :-
Will it be OK to keep swapping my existing hard drive over from banned console to new legit console in order to keep updating achievements/gamerscore ?. Obviously only obtaining achievements (from the banned console) for games after they are officialy released .
Or Should i say to hell with Gamer Score and just stick with one hard drive on legit console and one hard drive on Banned console.
Obviously there are no real concrete answers i just would like some educated advice from some of the more experienced guys on this forum. I'm inclined to just go two seperate hard drives as then issue over.

I agree with jondgls, hence the reason I was asking 1500willi what methods you used for scanning your disks. I always use a combination of DVDMulleter, Schtrom360Xtract, XboxBackupCreator and ABGX.net. Using all of these the CODAllstars release checks out perfectly fine. It is Nov 14th, 10:00am est US and I am currently not banned. I played most new releases online the day they came out officially.

It doesnt matter, you can still use your old HDD, i got my console banned last year from XBL cos of halo 3 (big mistake) so i got a new xbox and i still use my old hdd.

I can't say have been banned but hey I haven't played my 360 on live since the realease of Lost Planet now I don't care enough to buy live. I'm just hoping when I get on to download the Smackdown VS Raw downloadable content I'll be able too. As far as having a flashed 360 why risk it going online. Come on you think microsoft is going to sit back and watch people play game's online weeks before there realease please. To me your asking for the ban hammer, I have a question is I'm not trippin but didn't M$ ban people last november?
