Is there a way to rip a backup? I want to try and rip all my backups to hard drive in case something happens to the disc. XBC says it can only rip an original disc. I know I can copy a backup using CloneCd, just wondering if it is possible.

I have a question regarding the required sata chipset to do the job.
I have a Benq drive.
Ive read any sata chipset will do or is it still nforce/via required? Sorry Ive searched and havent found any direct answer.

Just give it a go with whatever you have, Dosflash it, try and dump the key... if you can you can flash it.. if you cant then no worrys just buy a via card. I got lucky and my nvidia motherboard came with nforce4 chipset :) I can get that working with samsung ms25 and ms28 and benqs... will be doing my lite on either today or tomorrow when my ck3 comes :)
*To the ripping person, Just install IMGburn, pop the disc in and rip it, slowest speed (2.4x) would be best to make sure no textures etc skip. Backups dont have any protection :)

Support for SS v2??????? i didnt know there were multiple versions and if so when was v2 implemented?
also what does this mean?: "One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk to activate each time!"

Not for sure. Trying to find out more in the IRC. I hope they give a little more update than that.
So what is up with the SS v2 stealthdf? Is that implemented in new games or what. Haven't heard anything about it.

lol.. Yeah same here. If I find anything out I'll post.
Edit: I'm guess with the "One Shot Boot Mode", after you have ix1.6 flashed to the drive.. put in the activate iso and let it run. Then pop in any game that doesn't have stealth so you can play it.

Yeah, booting a game with no stealth wouldn't be a smart idea and playing on Live. But this feature is nice because you don't have to flash back and forth from stealth to non-stealth firmware to boot back-ups you already burned.

maybe it means to get the drive into 0800 mode u just insert activate .iso and thats it??? just a guess

to rip a game with 0800 will you have to take the drive out of the xbox each time or will ther be another way of doing it?

Just a guess... but they probably won't release any drives before the other (firmware for the drives wiil be released at the same time... hopefully soon!)

I think they will release the benq samsung and lite on first, then the hitatchi at a later date. One thing i want to know is how fast does the benq rip games? Anyone know? Will it be faster than hot swapping?

I rip my games at 12x with a BenQ flashed with 0800 v1.2. Also using Xbox Backup Creator.

I just paid $60 to have my liteon flashed to 1.51because it looked alittle to difficult for me to do, i really don't care about playing online but i do want to be able to play UFC undisputed and the new college football when they come out am i going to have to switch to 1.6 or should 1.51 work

No. 1.51 is fine for you. The lite-on would cost over £40 in the uk because thats the price of the tool, i decided to do it myself. It was easy. After i got jungleflasher to finally load up (Kept freezing) And it would stop saying bad serial data, got the key and everything else was a 2 min job. vista style ;)

HOW did all of you guys mod your xbox 360? i.e. put new firmware on it, ive been trawling google for aggges and cant find a way to do it, is the only way by taking it apart and connecting the drive to a pc? Also with this new firmware, does the dash and everything stay the same?

Obviously you haven't searched hard enough... Anyways, the only way to flash the drives, is by taking the drive out of the system, and flashing it with the iXtreme Firmware. Nothing on the dashboard or anything like that is affected by it.

Ok, you only need the connectivity kit if your system is a liteon. In fact you don't need to buy that at all, you can make the tool yourself, which if you're new to soldering, might not be best for you.
Games will play just fine on Xbox Live (originals, and backups). If you want to play newer games, make sure to update to the 1.51 iXtreme!

ok im pretty sure i dont have a light on, i think i have a benq, so do i just use a sata cable to connect it to my pc? and then use jungle flasher to do the rest
