I had nothing to do with the writing of the firmware, I found a copy of the initial release with the code entry and used that on boxes that I sold. All further releases did not have that option.
You can dump the keyfile to USB, edit it on the PC and then download back to box, however, there is not a proper editor available at this time that I know of. You have to use a HEX editor like Ultraedit and carefully find the correct location for the keys

Since my box has died (all channels reporting as scrambled with a pretty little pic of a satelite dish) - Do I presume that it is now uesless untill a firmware update becomnes available ? - And if so, does anyone know where & when that will be?

i didnt think it would happen this quick myself,try factory default then load the abs firmware again and rescan,see if that works?

Why is there no support for this box at the moment? The epg fault sucks im thinking of trying to sell my boxes. Can anyone tell me the best box to buy to replace them

There is new software due this week so hold on, and they are working on the epg as well at the present time.

Good to know i am begining to get fed up turning it off and on every time it freezes or running upstairs to look at the epg on my old dbox

I've put the beta software on a couple of forums and the Bigmaq toolbar, the firmware is better in that the EPG loads quicker and doesn't vanish on standby. It does still only load data of channels on the same transponder you are tuned to, but if you zap around for a while it does build up

Trying to make what is essentially a modified Ex1000 perform as a PVR and expect the bells and whistles was never going to happen. Although I hope it can be improved.

Hi Lincsat i dont mind if i have to zap around a bit as long as i dont have top wait 20 mins on it loading before going to next transpoder lol ill d/load it now give it a go cheers for that

After a full day off using the test firmware on 2 boxes i can confirm that it sucks big time its just as bad as the last lot mabe even worse lmao

How is it worse for you? does it not load at all or take longer to load? the developers cannot help if they don't know what the problem is and what network you are on.

I am on edinburgh telipest the epg is not loading at all on most stations on a few it loads for things that are coming on in 4 or 5 hours but nothing for just now and there is the odd 1 the actualy works
i just had a look at this time i have 3 channels with epg the rest are blank but if i go onto the channels i get no info on the first epg section (where you can see mabe 10 channels at once ) but go into individual channels i get some info for later on tonight But ONLY on some channels not many at that

I should mention that i am using a splitter but still getting 82% signal and my old dbox is getting all channels with full epg no problem
