I just sold the two of my ex1100 mate as the firmware sucks if you can send it back i would do it and get the ex6000 although ive not tryed it the review hi-tech wrote says it works well
firmware is here though if your stuck with it

Topgear thanks for that..Why is it that people that take the time & trouble to sort these 'fixes' dont say what its fixed.
What does 'purple light fix mean'. I dont have a purple light, does it mean it will give me one.

the purple light fix is is you have problems with the box, and if it comes up with a purple light.
you havent got one so no need to worry :)

What I was getting at, was there is no detail of what the fix is. In x years time who will remember, maybe purple light is a bad example.
If I were capable of doing fixes, I would say what I had fixed it only needs a few words & a date.

having problems loading the firmware on ex1100usb.When i go to download file Ex1100usb_sep01.abs the next stage asks to find/save or cancel,windows xp not recognising abs files. Any ideas on how to load this file and also transferring to stick, cheers

save it to desktop, dont open the abs file, drag it to the mem stick and then update the firmware

if reqd, how do you do manually input on
eurovox 1100usb. on the 1000sl you simply
pressed menu and then yellow.

i have got a ex1100 for my dad, im in telepest land an hes in manchester, i flashed the box for him last nite and scanned for channels at my house - all ok picked everything up, gave him the box today an he cant get any channels to work, could someone tell me what it is that i have to change(or change to what). like i said i just chose scan for me and it worked but hes in N*L land,

hi i have discovered to change the symbol rate to 6887 for N*L, but is there anything else i need to change as i cant seem to get any channels?
pulling my hair out these are normally dead easy!

There are two areas for Manchester, Manchester 1 NTL 6887 - Manchester 2 6952 - Try both but make sure you do a Factory Default before doing any scan it is important.
Just to mention the obvious so no offence meant, are you certain that there is a live cable feed, and is it going into the RF IN socket.

yes defo in rf in, defo a signal, as far as i was aware there was c&w which was same as telewest 6952, then NTL at 6887, so to understand completely, i power box on, update with usb- firmware, then do factory reset, and then scan for channels?
is that correct?

Sorry I was elsewhere, you don't need to reflash the box if it worked at yours then I presume that you have the latest Firmware, but you do need to do a Factory default and rescan - as regards the areas in Manchester both of them were previously EX CW, but as I said - two symbol rates in use for 1 & 2.

Does anyone have any idea when there will be a fully functional version of the firmware as now these are really starting to p**s me off..
Im fed up of having no EPG and fed up of the box locking up every so often...
Ive tried all the firmwares available and the second release still works the best on mine at the moment.
If I use the latest one then it locks my box every 10 minutes and is completely unusable...
Thanks guys and heres looking to a new FINAL firmware....

But the EPG still doesnt update as good as the ex1000 version..

M8's just asked me for the firmware the 091202 version..
He usually uses Bigmaq toolbar but he said it hasnt showed on there..
Has anyone any ideas why? And why it wasnt posted on here till the 9th December?

Spoke too soon in previous posts... lol
Turned on the box today and was ok for about 10 minutes...
Now im getting the Slot 0 in / out problem on this firmware... And numerous Lockups when it is doing this
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP
Oh well it was good for a couple of days while it lasted..
By the way the wife was watching S*Y Christmas when this happened

Same with me - after about half an hour my box also froze with the 'slot 0 card in / slot 0 card out' error.
Whilst the EPG was a little better in this release than the previous release it's still not exactly great.
This is now the fourth firmware release I've tried and the only stable one for me has been the Sept25th Beta release so it's back to that one for now.
