I'm close to getting a cd! as soon as i have it, i'll rip it, host it, and link all of you!

Unfortunately the PAL version from the link does not work to copy the contents of a 120gb hdd to a 250gb hdd :/ So I'll be waiting for yours tbnist03 ;>

if thats all you are looking to do, just get xplorer360, dump your HD to your PC, and then get the hacked version of xploer360 for the 250 gig HDs and use that to copy your dumped 120 gig.
or you can read my tutorial on how to make your own 250 gig HD to see how to do it.

i should have the .iso burned in a day or so. i was fortunate enough to borrow a disc from someone, and am in the process of migrating my data as i type. let me know who else would like a copy of the cd, or an iso.

I built my own 250gb hdd and it IS working. I also transferred most of the stuff from the 120gb to 250gb hdd by xplorer. The problem is that all the avatars are gone and fable savegame do not work. So I suppose this stuff would work if i transferred it using the m$ disc.
Or I could update to the newest dashboard to get at least the avatars back. Second problem: The console is banned (but has no hdd lock yet, because I stayed offline and got informed about the ban on the xbox hotline) and I'm not sure if I get a hdd lock when updating to the newest dashboard (offline update).

okay...here's the deal...i've borrowed an x360 disc with the full intention of just making a copy, but my clonedvd and my clonecd are not recognizing the disc as a dvd, which i know it is. if someone knows how to extract the files and turn them into an iso, it would be greatly appreciated.
if not, i'll be getting my copy of the disc and cable on dec 3, and can loan it out to whomever needs it.

you need to use a kreon drive with cfw or 0800 mode on a 360 drive to back it up to an iso... search for it.

just great. i don't have either of those, other than the 360 drive, but i'm not interested in taking apart my 360.
sorry guys...it looks like microsuck has foiled me again...once i get my copy of the disc, i'll gladly loan it to whomever wants it.
hopefully someone can make a copy and distribute it from there?

dont worry about it, if need be i can just call up with my data and my grandpa's xbox data "which has only been online once" and all will go well.. but idk if anyone else will go for it.

dont feel bad about it, what it's one disk? it really is no big deal. someone will make an iso of it eventually. oh btw ixtreme has 0800 mode built in, i don't know if you knew that or not...

Alright so the thing is, it's a backup of the disc. I put it into my computer and it says that its only 5MB big. But the ISO I had originally used *which is LONG gone by now and I don't feel like re-downloading it* was 6 gigs. So what I am thinking is that if you burn the 5 MB file to a DVD+R DL it probably wont work.

Yeah, i keep reading that the 5mb files arent everything you'll need. im sure the 6gb is what people need. ive been trying to rip/burn one to distribute, but dont have the right drive to read the damn thing.
if you can find the iso, maybe a link would be good. i know i can burn it from there, then test it before distribution.

Arrr microshits policy just sucks. They should include one disc in every elite console so that we all wouldn have to bother getting a copy. I own two elite consoles, maybe i will just order a copy of the transfer disc myself. They could at least send me one for free.
Whatever, I'll try to circumvent my issues here first. Maybe it works to install the avatar dashboard update on my banned console without getting the hdd lock (which I do not have yet).
Anyway, m$ pisses me off
BTW: The 5mb iso wont do anything, that's sort of a copy protection. You need to use a specific samsung drive with kreon firmware to make working copies (they have like 7GB size) or an xbox drive. But using the xbox drive is too much work, so don't bother doing that.

when i first started looking for a disc/iso to burn, i found a LOT of the 5mb files. i learned pretty quickly that they weren't what i needed. i think that microsoft should keep a number of discs on hand separate from the cable, for those types of people who lose them, or break them, etc...
they should also change their "customer service" scripts so that if an irate customer calls up, they get their problem resolved FAST. if they had said, i'm sorry sir, lets get this taken care of right away, we'll mail you a disc tomorrow, i wouldnt be bashing on them now, telling everyone i know about their shitty customer service, nor would i be recommending that people stay away from microsoft because they're gonna have problems talking to someone WHEN (not if) the hardware fails. i'm also not a fan of second-hand game retailers practices of selling used games as new, but i'm also recommending that people go and buy games from stores like that to cut out or greatly decrease microsoft's profits.

I now updated my dashboard to the newest version. Now I have the nice avatars back (although I do not really need them, I just wanted to have them back :>) and the hdd isn't locked either. My last problem, a not working savegame, can also not be solved with a transfer dvd. So, I do not really need a kit anymore. Maybe I will just order one from M$ for free just to produce some costs :o

Right, I have a transfer disk and a kreon drive to extract the ISO with! Only issue I have is, I dont know where people would want me to upload it to. I don't have a megaupload account or anything and I have never made a torrent before, so I wouldn't know how to p2p it... :-S
Just let me know if anybody has a clue! lol Either way, I'll have a looksie when I get home and IF I can make a torren, I will host it from my work comp and post it here! ^o^
