This is how M$ detects people. Those people were 100% sure that they used abgx properly but they didn't. M$ doesn't have new ways to detect firmware or whatever.

I religously only played verified games run through abgx with autofix set to level 3 after release date. I run the iso through 3 times every time without fail. You fail sir in your uneducated guess.
I'm banned and so are every one I know. ABGX doesn't fail, it just isn't suited to protect at the latest type of detection.

Alright thanks for the insight... I guess just to be safe, ill try deleting the gamertag and then retrieving it again on my new console, whenever I get one...

In the past, yes, this was true. With the current dashboard update, people have reported their HDD data getting corrupted. I am not myself completely familiar with it, but there are threads aplenty discussing it here. I believe getting the HDD to work on a new console is just a matter of deleting the gamertag from it and then retrieving it again, but don't quote me on that.

Folks,
what are we saying here? I have been playing a few xbox360 iso games in past month only. I have not been online since Wednesday night when i played PES2010, i played COD2 offline the last few days also.
I am afraid to turn on my box now!!!! Is it worth staying offline or do i need to find out if i am banned?

i think they have a way to look at drives firmware now. only safe thing is to set up like a proxy and block and monitor things. that is what im gonna try to do next days off

i would agree with you that this is a very new type of detection ... unrelated to proper/improper stealths ... the banwave is just too widespread to be anything else...
they have the upperhand right now and have the modding community over the barrel... someone is gonna have to figure out where things went wrong cause there has been some huge mistake.

Anyway both me and my roommate have xbox's with the latest lite-on drives and the lastest firmware ( flashed about 2 months ago ) and we were both banned sometime between about 11:30p last night and before 10am when we got on. Up until today our xbox's have been playing flawlessly though. I've read quite a bit on this thread and to me it seems like the latest update might increase the chance of you getting banned? Even if it doesn't this does suck pretty bad. Hopefully someone will figure out how to undo this.

what if we flash or drives back to the original firmware. Would the help people that haven't been banned. I have 3 xbox in my house and haven't been banned yet.

yup i also got banned and so did 4 of my freinds all with different firmwares so its due to new xbox360 update that was released i had a 1.4 firmware whcih i only played halo 3 and street fighter 4 nothing new i was banned other was a 1.5 and played ODST and newer games and my freinds also had 1.5 and 1.6 one of them yeah for playing MW2 but according to another website i am a member of it is now detectable if u have temper with ur xbox so people who has not been banned and has a flash xbox enjoy while u can cause eventually will get banned :(.... another thing is if you get ur xbox bann is the console not ur gamertag so even if u takle ur HD off and put it in a new xbox gamer tag wont work also ur gamertag will be removed from HD when u put it in a new xbox so basically u will get ur gamertag removed and console xbox live worthless.......

well it was fun while it lasted. i guess it dont matter how careful you are and what measures you take. You're all gonna get banned if you tamper with their toys. I had i.51 final ixtreme. verified all games. didnt guarantee anything. or maybe cos I played fifa10 2 1/2 weeks AFTER its release??

your probably already banned. the moment you connect you'll get the console banned message. and whats the difference between staying offline and not trying to find out? your banning yourself either way.
if your worried about being banned you shouldnt have hacked your xbox

You are banning yourself either way, but when you get hit by the ban hammer you can no longer install games to your hard drive or play games that are already installed. Also, your gamertag and game saves show up as corrupted if you connect your hard drive to a different console, so you have to use the recover gamertag option.
Voluntarily staying offline means you obviously can't use Live, but you'd still have a decent offline box with a functional hard drive install feature and you could move your hard drive to another console without the corruption issues.

Hi,
I was recently banned. Not going to whine about it, I save far more money in the long run.
Quick question, though. I really like custom rosters on sports games. It is possible to use a transfer kit to update roster files on sports games? Or this function removed too?
Additionally, is there any difference between the kits on ebay? Some are generic, others are Microsoft made apparently.

When I select the media center option, it attempts to connect then says "this game requires xbox live to play"
can anyone else confirm?

Windows Media Center functionality is also disabled when you're banned. You can still stream with third party apps like TVersity or PS3 Media Server or you can use streaming through Windows Media Player, but your console will no longer work as a WMC extender.

OK guys hopefully i can make a new thread of this but since lots and lost of people been banned thsi is a new alternative is new but if we support it by using it we can make it big besides its FREE!!!!!!

hammer just hit me too, I'm running fw 1.6 and I burn my own games with a kreon drive and run the iso past abgx befor burning.
I've never downloaded a game of the net.

im really starting to think that they can sniff our drives. list of reason why i belive it
1. 360 boot up now takes a TINY bit longer ever since update.
2. people are getting banned that have ONLY played legit games. NO Backups at all.
3. when i got banned i noticed some weird network traffic RIGHT when i got banned.
4. a HUGE update just to enable wpa2 and Usb N network cards.
gonna fire up my next 360 and create a log using a packet sniffer and see if i can see what my 360 is telling M$. but wont be able to till late sunday. Working sucks. if some one out there knows how to use Packet sniffers and Has yet to be banned this would be a GOOD test to see what is going on the network. i think the next way to secure our selfs is gonna be a Virtual proxy to block out or modify packets on the fly. it is possible just dont have time right now to test. so if any one else can help the more info we get the Safer we could be.

yea but that would only work with LAN games. unless some one find some MAGIC way to make this work with LIVE (and that wont happen) it renders 95% of games USELESS. who does LAN play any more?

i think they can see if you have flashed your xbox i got ban yesterday and was playing a retail game.
It was weird, my cat when behing my subwoofer and mess up with the wire cable make my sub crash for a minute, my xbox goes 3 red lights, im freaking out... and next thing i know im banned from Live.
i never played any copy game only,i even disconnect myself from live when i but a copy in (with a locking code)

Wierdly, I was looking at this router flashing people have been posting about in this thread (out of curiosity). So I turned my xbox off for some lunch, had a play with my router, reset it etc, found out it was difficult to flash my router, so restored the settings I had before, go to switch on my 360 and now I have 3 red lights. One difference, I havn't got mine working again! It almost sounds like it checks the disk drive then pops up the lights. Then again, i've not experienced red lights before so may be normal :)
I'm going to restore the original firmware tomorrow, see what happens and if still no luck its going back to M$ >.<
