but if you want to go ahead to gend2
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1816 you have to run this first, and then run the d file. gen b has to be upgraded to b2 before you can go to d.
Hi, thx for the link I have managed to upgrade to 550D3, BUT I got one small problem.
I am able to on my psp, play games with my 2in1 PB in batt mode.
But when I one I insert my original batt the power led lights up and blank screen.
Does that mean I only can use PB to play games from now on?

it sounds to me like your original battery is in service mode. did you try to use a program to turn your original into a pandora? if you did, the only way to get it out of service mode is use it in another psp, and use the same program to restore it to normal mode. i have had this problem before, whatever machine you used to turn it into a pandora will not recognize that battery as anything else. it has registered the other battery's id.

Nop I did not use any programe, or mod it to PB. DOes that mean that if I buy another batt my PSP will not recognize my new batt too?

ok we need to know what version of psp you have 100x, 200x, 300x
your probably not on a 300x series, i used a program on the memory stick to install 3.71m33 and a Pandora battery im on a 100x series. when you put CFW custom firmware on a memory stick it becomes a MMS magic memory stick allowing you to alter the firmware that you already have to custom firmare, you can do it without a pandora battery, personally i didn't as wanted to recover if i messed up and the guides that say you don't need one were not out then. on youtube there are video guides i watched a few of these to get the jist of things.
then once i found a guide i liked i downloaded it from the youtube guide and did it step by step pausing the guide re-watching parts if needed to get to the first CFW 3.71m33 then went 5.00m33 to 5.00m33-6 then through every gen in turn skipping 5.50 gen-c alot of people bricked there psp with this, once first CFW installed you don't need pandora you can install them running CFW upgrade as if you started a game of the stick, this is found under the save game data last but one column on the right of the homepage scroll down to very bottom.

anymore help let me know.

I just upgraded to 5.50 gen d-3 and it went smooth. I put some mpeg4 movies on the PSP and it works great.

Now the problem, I cannot get any ISO games to play, or even show up on my PSP. I did not even use UMDgen to compress. I do the trasfer, it goes on the PSP, my memorygoes down, but I cannot find the ISO anywhere.

I tried putting it in the ISO folder, the ISO>Video folder, and even the root, nothing.

I have a PSP 2000 Vader and a Photosmart adapter with 2 8GB Sansisk micro SD's

I have tried memory stick as well as NP9660, neither do it.

I am so frustrated, I am thinking of running HC and reverting back to m33 and try that. I just do not understand how movies can work fine but my ISO games do not.

Could it be the games themselves?

GTA Vice City Stories
Resistance Retribution
SW Battlefront
The Simpsons Game

have you held the right shoulder button down when starting psp in the recovery menu under configuration enabled the options to allow you to do what you want?

Yup, tried that Mick. I really do not know what I am doing in recovery but it does say "read from memory stick". I am clueless this morning.

I find it hard to believe since I can load Mpeg4 fine, but could it have to do with my memory? I am using a Photosmart adapter and 2 8GB Sansdisk micro SD's.

BTW, thanks for trying to help, I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

First, I assume now that I have 5.50 Gen D-3, I do not need to worry about default setting, themes, etc.

5.50 VSH MUNU

CPU Clock XMB Default
CPU Clock Game 333/166 (When I formatted the sticks, this changed to this but it was Default??)
USB Device Memory Stick
ISo Video Mount NONE
Make Pandora Battery
Make Normal Battery
Shutdown
Exit

The only thing I saw in recovery was "Autorun program at /PSP/Game/Boot/EBOOT.PBP"

It was disabled, and I enabled it and still....nothing.

I saw "Plain modules in UMD/ISO" Not sure what that means but is is disabled.

Might sound stupid but do I have to have a UMD inserted into the PSP to run my ISO's?

Could it be I am ripping games wrong. I mean I use UMDGEN and followed a tutorial and created ISO's, I do not see how something so simple can be messed up.

i got problem here please help. im new to psp upgrading. i have a psp 2001 with 5.00 m33-4 cfw. i tried upgrading it to 5.00 m33-6 and it was successful. but when upgrading to custom firmwares 5.50 GEN-A, that is a manual upgrade and not via Pandora, shows me an error FFFFFFFE, "Contact technical support for assistance" when it goes to 92%.

i tried going to recovery mode(hold R button while starting up psp), but still nothing happens, screen still black/empty. green led lights up for a second and turn off agian. i also tried turning on my psp normally, still my psp screen is not responding.

is want to ask what happened/is condition of my psp?
is there a way i can recover or fix my psp?

thanx in advance?

It's called a brick. You need a Pandora Battery and a Magic Memory Stick. As your post shows you have already used one, just use it again like you did the first time.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
