im sensing some Live addicts here lol why the big rush surely M$ will notice all the gamertags that got banned suddenly appearing online when the new fw comes out and flag you all for investigation.

Well it would be a bad scene if they gave an ETA and then the testing revealed problems that pushed back the release...

you need to understand the product is finished but just to save from any mistakes they could have made or anything like that they are going to do test to be a 100% sure they can release it so people like you dont moan if its no good plus firmware has been fine for years and still is fine but microsoft is getting wiser just like we are its like a game of tennis we hit the ball to them an they hit it right back to us plus if you dont trust it then dont get it done.

do you think I should make a new account. because I have a feeling M$ has some thing if someone is banned they would have that information somewhere?? Has people been banned before and used the same account again for about a year or so??

I also want to know. I asked in another thread "how exactly do we know that M$ flags our consoles to begin with?" no one answered. I am aware that the word on the street says M$ flaggs your CONSOLE. but what i wanna know are two things: 1. Who can confirm that M$ flags consoles? (Seems like its a waist of time. I would guess they would be lenient and if any discrepancy then they hammer you.) and 2. If they do record you console and ban it, wouldnt it be logical to say that they record/flag other info such as the gamertag that was being used when the system was hit? (It might mean that gamertag will be monitored more closely than others, ya know stick out like a sore thumb kinda thing.)
anyone able to verify they have used the tag for over a year and not been banned out of the blue?
I guess the only correlation between console and person would be if you registered you console on the xboxlive.com website. but then again they keep personal info for payments with your gamertag so it sounds like if they did flag, they would record all the info available.
Just curious for my own knowledge...

How does microsoft flag a console? We don't know how they do that but we do know that by connecting to Live then you are connecting to the xbox 360 microsoft host. The host can simply compare the data that it has read with the data that they have in their database. If it finds a mismatch then it will flag you.
If similar flags for various misinformation such as error messages become to common then theoretically this is a sign that this console is possibly not using authentic data.
