I wanted to reinstall the homebrew channel to fix it from being upside down. Without thinking I deleted it from the Wii system memory. Any ideas on how i can install it again? I tried running hackmii and bannerbomb, but neither will let me reinstall it. It just keeps telling me everything I have is up to date and cannot continue.

The installer will let you install an up to date version over itself. So saying it will not is wrong. Your doing something wrong.

Follow the HBC channel section again (make sure you still have the softmodding pack on the SD card).

I followed the HB install section of your guide again, and this is what it says:

"This installer can NOT continue!

There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on this wii.
Please note that we will not use fake signed ISO due to security reasons.

Look for the latest version at:
http://bootmii.org

If this is already the latest version...well, suck it.

>exit"

It won't let me do anything else but exit the program.
I've tried both softmod packs and followed both of your guides (because i was on 4.1U then updated to 4.2 U) and still the same thing. Any ideas?

Read the guide again. It tells you what to do if you get the no known vulnerable IOS.

I really wish users would read the full guide and stop waisting my time with shit questions that could be avoided by reading the guide.

again this guide worked and was easy but one quick question. on other guides it is recommended to install a priiloader for brick protection, is that something to consider doing?

I did read that part of the guide, I wasn't sure if that applied to my situation or not, so i apologize. I wasn't trying to tick anyone off or anything. I appreciate the help though. I'll give it a try. Thanks

Why wouldn't it apply to your situation.

Again another person that needs to read the FULL GUIDE! There is a remark on reasons you might get an error 1101 in the guide.

I have just completed your tutorial and so far everything ok. The only thing that did not come up was the option to choose Bootmi as Boot 2, so I chose the only other option to bootmi as IOS.

Is this because I have a newer version of the Wii?

With Bootmii as IOS, do I have to load HB Channel and load Bootmi every time I want to use Neogamma & Usb loader or is that just a one off thing?
I'm just a little unsure of what to do now I have installed everything.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

READ THE GUIDE!

It tells you what to do if you get an initializing network error!

Do some more research and learn what each thing does and how to use it.

Larry, I do have a question. I have a truckload of backups on disc. Will I be able to dump those to a hard drive via the usb loader or will this be a lost cause due to the 1101 error?

What does the guide say about new Wii drives and the error 1101?

A simple yes or no would have sufficed.

Hi all! I'm on version 4.0U and I'd like to go to 4.2. However, I cannot connect to my wireless network (I've given up trying to figure out why), so I can't do the upgrade via the console. Any idea how I can get the firmware onto my wii without internet connection? I've searched for the files that I can put on my sd card, but I can't seem to find them.

Thanks!

Simply reading the guide would suffice as well.

Why should I say yes or no when the answer is right there in the guide for all to read. Stop being lazy and pay attention to what you read.

I followed this guide without any problems but got a disc read error when trying to play my retail games - all of them. So I re-worked my way thorugh the guide still with no error messages and no problems through the whole install but still none of my games read. I bought my Wii in the USA but live in Australia so want to softmod to undo the region coding so I can play games I buy here, but now not even my USA games will work. I've seen the comments about new consoles not reading back-up discs but these are the original retail discs so I'm not sure what's happened.
Help is appreciated!

have no idea what to tell you. Retail game disc of same region as system should not be effected.

Just wanted to say thanks for a great guide - everything went smoothly. Peeps just need to go through the process slowly and read everything twice if not thrice. Keep up the great work, much appreciated.
