you guys remind me of an ostrich........ take your head out of the ground and wake up and realize that smoking kills. If it doesn't kill ya it will disable ya! I smoked for 22 yrs before I quit! I now have breathing disabilities and a heart murmur! If I had to do it all over again,etc........but you guys don't want anyone preaching to ya...... I would tell NicHt to remember what he said here come 20yrs from now, if he's still alive, to see his child, who is on his way, come into it's own and start smoking!!! I bet he will advise him/her NOT to start! I guarantee it! All you people that think smoking doesn't hurt... you'll learn the hard way..... all you people that think weed is ok.... you'll find out when your older and you are sterile and can't sire a child! Good luck to all of you. I will not respond to the crap that you guys will rationalize your habits of smoking to justify your means. I won't be drawn into your nonsense that smoking is harmless! You can't argue with a drunk and you certainly can't argue with you weed smokers! Just eat your sh~t when you get the muchies and stop spewing unsubstantiated crap about smoking! There are plenty of studies and FACTS that smoking puts so many poisons into your body that if you continue to smoke.... it will eventually catch up to you! So right now you're young and stupid.... wait till you're older and wiser and can't help what you did when you were young and stupid! Let's hope that they cured cancer by the time you guys are old enough to get it from all the smoking you're doing now! Ha! Marijuana makes you sterile... What a crock of sh*t. Tell that to my dad and his three children. I really want to see these scientific facts. Last time I checked, the scientific facts said otherwise.

Fellas, this is not a thread to debate smoking or rip on smokers or their habit. This is a pro-smoking thread to help smokers get the most pleasure from their vice and spread information that concerns smokers, besides the health risks we've all heard. I'm going to start reporting every post I see that is off topic.

okay, so maybe i was off with the 70% thing...but it is known to happen when some people DO smoke, some of them end up doing illegal drugs. on the news they were talking about it. my numbers were somewhat off...its actually 43% of the people who smoke end up doing illegal drugs. i don't know how it happens, but im just glad i don't soke. sorry for the confusion. :(

I was thinking of giving up smoking but somebody just brought me 30 pouches of tobacco back from Spain.
Gonna have to light one up now while I contemplate what to do next.

If you're worried about the risk, then I would simply age that sweet leafy product until it's at it's peak, and maybe roll 5-20 a month to enjoy slowly. Do it socially, and only socially. You'll find yourself smoking less around other people, not at all when you're alone, and enjoying it a lot more when you do it. Plus, it breaks that habit. That's what I did. :-)

Don't get time to come here these days, too busy rolling cigarettes and smoking them.
Have to have the odd sip of wine now and again as well.
Smoking clogs the arteries and the wine thins out the blood so it balances out quite well.

Likewise. I enjoy smoking things immensely. I do not do hardcore drugs and I never smoke seeds... and my dad had a vasectomy so he doesn't care, lol. My grades are good, I have a good job, a new Eagle Talon TSi in the works. I don't see where the problem is :)
We respect the choices of those who do not smoke. So, you should respect our choices. If I die of lung cancer at 55, that is a risk I have accepted. My smoking doesn't harm anyone but me. You can leave the room if it bothers you so much.
Smoking, in all its forms, is definitely a social thing to me. I enjoy it with my friends as much as I enjoy it alone.

Yea, you can probably get about 1 to 2 cartons worth of cigs for about 20 bucks at a tobacco shop. Also pick up one of those cig packers and it saves you from the hassle of rolling your own.

Somehow, I missed this one until now. Man, it's not a cigarette thing, it's a stupid youth thing. MOST kids, by vast and far, try illegal drugs while growing up, as well as smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol while underaged. They think it's cool, they think they need it for fun, they get roped in without looking at the bigger picture, they don't think it's serious, etc etc. They end up like that because their parents allow it and society paints it as cool and rebellious. Saying that it is caused by cigarettes or that cigarettes help lead to it is, once more, ignorant and lacking logic.

I smoke weed to ease my stress. Legal or illegal, I will always smoke weed for it's qualities and not its social acceptance. I don't even care that it's illegal. I'm just careful with it.

While I don't approve of using marijuana, I will never say that anyone should not...my big speech here has been about personal liberty. But nevertheless, I wasn't aiming at weed, Estuansis...more along the lines of drugs like ecstasy or the other fun little pills you can get that really do nothing but mess you up.

Bad ass factor? See, you are just the person Aus is talking about. Real smokers don't smoke pot to be cool, they smoke it because it eases daily stress that they go through. I love to rip the bong or the volcano for a nice night cap - makes going to sleep much easier. Did you even bother to read the article trippy? The fun in it is that you only pay 5 dollars for a "stamp" which gets you an 8th of an ounce (3.5 grams). Each additional 8th is another 5 dollars. Here in my state, an 8th goes anywhere from 40-60 bucks on the street - cheaper if you know the grower.
It's 50 dollars for a license to grow one plant. Not too sure how they plan on doing this, because there are male and female plants and you don't know the sex until a certain cycle of the plants life. Maybe they will allow people to also purchase clones? Anyways, depending on what strain you grow and your setup, you are looking at about 300 dollars to grow a plant. Again, depending on what strain you have and the growing conditions, plays a roll in what you will yield. So if you got a decent setup and a nice strain, one could easily yield 4 ounces (112 grams) of high grade pot. So you do the math and tell me what's so fun about this.
These guys are totally right here, if someone wants to smoke pot, the government should not be allowed to dictate whether or not they can. Marijuana should be in the same class as cigarettes and alcohol. The only reason it's not is because of politicians old ways of thinking and all the RX companies that have them in their pockets. Pot gets a bad wrap because of all the years of brainwashing the government has tried to use on us through the media - IHoe is a prime example of that! All these marijuana laws that are in place do more harm then the drug itself!

I love listening to music when I'm baked. Somehow it just seems more real, and you can really notice little details that would otherwise just be part of the noise.
I'm glad they're gonna try to legalize marijuana in California. That means other states will soon follow suit. It's a big issue here in Wisconsin. Last I heard, they're still working out the particulars in a lot of states before they try to pass any bills. I think it's already been perfectly legal in Alaska for years now.
Marijuana is not only less harmful than cigarettes, it's actually good for you in a lot of ways. I smoke weed 2-3 times a week and have never noticed any ill effects. And it's not like I don't have any, I just keep it to weekends and Friday nights so it doesn't interfere with my job.
I can admit that being high does affect how I function, but it doesn't incapacitate me like drinking or hardcore drugs. It's like I'm still functional, just slightly loopy and kind of vacant.
