Ok so i have an xbox and i go on xbox live(halo2). As we speak i am getting a mod chip installed in my xbox...will i be able to go on xbox live and be able to use the mod chip..if so will i get banned...for how long..if i cant use it on XBL whats the point ingetting one...whats the diofference between a soft mod and a mod chip ...? If anybody can get some info o nthis please post a message. thanks! What exactly does a mod do?

Ok guys i just recently sent in my xbox to get a mod chip put in with a switch. If i turn it on and go on xbox live (halo 2) will i get banned right away or what will happen. I heard about this whole soft modding for xbox ..whats the difference from a softmod and a mod chip? i heard mods make you like jump reallly high and run fast ..its kinda like hacks..pretty cool...but will i get banned? Can someone explain what a modchip and a softmod does?

@Inglis101 - A softmod allows you to basically do the same things as a chip. However, a chip just makes doing certain things (such as upgrading the HD) easier. Also, the ability to boot the Xbox without the chip on is an added plus. There is no guarantee that you won't be banned from Xbox Live even if you go on there without the chip turned on. And for the record, SOFTMODS and HALO 2 HACKS are two DIFFERENT THINGS!!! Why would you want to be a loser and cheat and hack the game to do these things on Xbox Live anyway? YES you will be banned if you hack the game, and I hope all of you idiots looking for Halo 2 hacks get banned the same day you log on to XBL with those damn cheating hacks turned on....

@jonbtrini Ya dude ifeel the same bt i wasnt oging to use the mod for XBL i was using it to play burnt games...thats all

@Slith - Yes, I HIGHLY recommend Xlink Kai, that's the program I use, and it's fantastic! If you guys want to add me to your buddylist on Kai when you get it set up, let me know. I usually host Halo 2 games every night on Kai, 8 - 10 people in my room. But let me know because my room fills up QUICK. A lot of people like to come to my room because there's usually no lag with my 1MB upload...

i think im going to cry. i did the soft mod and got the ltools from #xbins
i installed it and got evox to work. but i then decided to start the trouble shooter b/c i wanted to play xbox live and it didnt let me. (i have original halo2 and i booted xbox with the cd inside) but when i clicked trouble shooter the screeen showed microsoft xbox and it went to another screen that said call customer service in a bunch of different languages. it also shows this green screen when i boot the xbox with no disk inside. how do i fix this? pls help pls. im desperate. although it still plays games when i have the cd in when i push power.
(the light also starts flashing green and red at the screen)

Mod chip or no mod chip, you can use Xlink Kai.
From what I've heard (looked into it after Jon mentioned it) it's really great, as long as you're not hosting with Dial-Up...and I'm not even sure it's possible.
Sounds great, definitely something to check out.

@chaz1 - you can use any memory card you want...however some memory cards might corrupt the gamesave when you try to load it on the Xbox.

@tanker940 - DO NOT use Mini-Linux or lTools on the Evox menu. These things are for ADVANCED users. If you have your dashboard up and running, you can go ahead and start adding programs to your Evox dashboard by downloading them and ftp them to the correct folder on your Xbox. For instance, if you download Xbox Media Center, you would download, extract the files, then ftp everything to E:/apps and reboot and the program will not appear on your Apps tab in Evox...same thing goes for games and emulators. Just install them to the proper folder...it's simple enough...

Yo man what part of Action Replay Xbox don't you understand! All the materals come in the Action Replay! You copy the gamesave to your Xbox from the MS Dashboard!
