Sorry to post again but no one seemed to have answered my last question. How do I install ude1 or whatever. My xbox boots to the microsoft dash so i know im not modded. But i dont seem to have any options to install as far as i can tell can someone give me an exact run through, file to file of what to do. Like tell me exactly what to click. My question is on page 13 if you need to see it. Its a long one but not too long

Phathod, just follow Jon's tutorial from start to finish. I think you may have problems getting to the screen where it asks you if you want to install linux, pick your dashboard, etc.
If so, simply download the save from xbins (my tutorial in General Discussion) put it on to your XBOX by transferring it with Action Replay, boot up SC and load the save.
If you are seeing garbled text, weird screens, and your XBOX is flashing different colors, it's normal. You will soon get to the screen where you install everything.

@jon- ok, my bad for calling you out like that, iknow you dont have to help any of these peaple asking for it but you do, which people should be thankful for.
also my xbox does not play games it freezes at the xbox logo screen. its becouse on mechassault i chose the powersave restore dash.
@slith- no, it wasent to use hacks on halo 2 or any other xbl game. i am not a quote "little n00bler" on any game i play { mostly halo 2 } and i can probly woop on most of the people who wants to challeng me.

Hey. thanx for the tutorial but im having trouble. I have done everything right so far until i got to the part where you say to go download Itools from xbin or something? well i was reading what you had said to someone else about going to mIRC and I did all of that, I typed in what you told me and then i got to the end where they give you their website and they also give you a nickname and a password but the problem is that when i went to their site to put in the name and password to get the Itools, the screen went white and said that this site could not be opened for some reason. Im still trying to get on but i cant. If i counld get on to that site and get the download for Itools i'd be home-free because i read ahead in ur tut and it looks like as soon as i get that download im able to start modding. So if you could help me with this that would be awesome. THANX!
P.S. I also went to another tut to see if it was any different and he said all i need to do is download the linux file then go on my mechassault to campain and run linux from there. Thanx and try to get back soon because im going to break my XBOX!!! {said with anger}!

Check out my tutorial. It is very straightforward and easy to use. For those that read more than the first two sentences, it is not a Softmodding an Xbox Tutorial. Very simply put, it is how to access and download from xbins.
Jake, you have to have an FTP program. Might I reccommend SmartFTP, since that is what my tutorial uses.

hey can somebody help me i have mechassault but don't know what version is it because i bought used at game store it has old papers like showing shenmue 2 blinx the time sweeper nba 2003 can somebody tell me is this the new version of mechassault or the old one thanks

What does a Linux Installer do? I was cruesing through my action replay looking at stuff and i saw that at the top and wanted to know what it was good for or used for?
PS. Im still stuck at i need to downgrade to dash 1420 or something like that or upgrade to some file with .xbe at the end. Need Help still.
@ Jon - I did what you told me too do got a game got the content downloaded off of it and then i put in 007 and triing to modded the xbox but still had the same problem.

Ok i feel like an idiot asking this question even though u might have answered it im just not sure if this is supposed to happen:
When u get the screen that is black and has green words in chinese and such do u wait for ur light to stop flashing green and red and change to only green flashing or did i screw up?
Pls answer i have been looking for the answer to this for about 2 weeks now

Go back to the game you were using to install the softmod and load the save again, if you can in fact still play games. The garbled text and other stuff is supposed to happen, just leave your XBOX alone for awhile, and soon the new screen should come up.

They do chipmods and softmods, but specialize in softmods and fixing them....

Well my trouble isnt in starting linux up for splinter cell. I dont know how to install it. What menu item do i choose. Ive tried em all but havent found anything?

I think i am extremly lucky because i have 2 xboxes and have gotten the garbbled text 3 times on boath and i can still play games on them after turnning them off

ok ive read that and im doing that right now but i got the garbbled text at 1 how long is this supposed to take cause its been about 45 minuets it is the errror 21 screen by the way the garbled text ur talking about i dont think is the same 1 i am talking about i am talking about right after i click campaighn and choose run linux

@cybershot - they can fix your xbox, that's what
@wizardww2 - sounds like maybe you have the wrong version of the itools gamesave....are you sure it's NTSC and not the PAL version???
