Yes yes; in an attempt to get back on topic a bit.
I'll try VSO just to see what i think of it. Maybe one of these flicks that don't require a whole lot of compression; i'll just let Fab rip, encode, and burn.
Then repeat using my normal process and run a comparison.

Would definitely be interested in how your comparison plays out. Like you said on some movies it could save a step or two if it works well. Thanks for the latest update as well.

Tried this process today ripped main movie only, so very little compression was needed. Ripped, encoded, and burned with Fab. Only I did run it through FixVTS just to be on the safe side, the results were very good just as rtm said they would be. Scored 98 on Nero Speed, so I was happy. Haven't made myself waste a TY to burn the same file with ImgBurn yet, but probably will to satisfy my curiosity.
P.S- Burned at 9.25X avg. speed because I was too dumb to check the settings before I hit start. Usually burn at 6X on ImgBurn.
Edit: Same file with ImgBurn scored 97.

Just tried out the new formats. I ripped a couple videos from a dvd I have (Love Actually), and used the 'audo only' funtion. You have a choice of not only which format you want the audio to (mp3, mp4 i saw) but, you can also pick the bitrate (64-320). Took just over a minute to do. Sounds pretty good too.

Anyone having any problems with the latest release 5.0.8.2? Today I received two different BSOD and twice Fab just closed in the middle of processing. Could just be coincidense and the problem lies elsewhere, just thought that I would check.

I haven't had any trouble with 5.0.8.2 since I installed it. I have 8 dvd's to run thru it tonight, so it should get a good work out after these.

On a different note, I have another question. It is partly Fab related so I don't feel too bad posting here. Do any of you guys own AnyDVD as well or strictly Fab? The reason I ask is that I like Fab alot but I waited too long to purchase so I got stuck with the yearly renewal deal, really sucks. Anyway, slysoft is running a 20% off deal, plus the dollar has improved a little so AnyDVD can be bought for around 59.00 with lifetime updates. Just curious as to your guys opinions on the matter.
P.S- I am not asking which is better, I know that there are multiple threads for that. I like both progs, just curious and most of the members I want to ask have been hanging out here lately.

Yeah I have both and like you I will have to pay Fab yearly, I think the fee is fairly cheap. Don't know exact amount. I use AnyDVD for anything hard. I use Fab just to keep up with latest and to keep my old mind knowing how to use it. It could be a little more user friendly.

I bought Platinum before the increase; and had been using HD Decrypter for quite a while.
In retrospect, i should've picked up Anydvd before the hike as well.

I've had 5.0.8.2 crap out a few times, not during ripping luckily, just during the analysing dvd stage; restarting Fab seemed to cure it each time though.
