i jus bought the flip top and had the person install it, copied a few games with my pioneer 105, works great on some but made 3 coaster. read somewhere else that suikoden 3 wouldnt work and also i used nero to backup vice city but ended up as a coaster... then tried dvd decryptor in 2x to burn n it was skippin n freezes.. so i try dvd decrytor one more time with 1x and works great now, using cheap 80 cent dvd-r media from pcclub. so basically my question is does anyone know where i can get a list of what games are able to backup n what arent.. thx in advance

im still looking to get a complete list of all the games we have done here but im not gunna get the time till i am done moving.

To sum it up for now, i think every game out works besides hitman 2 and splinter cell.

Havent seen any other that dont work.

Is there a way to use swap magic and the gameshark code together?

I have GS v3. so, the gs can not boot the back up directly. I try to double swap, but the code does not work after double swap.

For DVD Decrypter, do you HAVE to write at 1x in order to get a good burn? Just curious, Thanks

Luiginski,

I would recommend it. However when I go to burn my backups at 1x speed, I get a message in DVD Decrypter saying that speed is not allowed or something and it defaults to 2.4x. They turn out ok, but I always leave the deafult at Write Speed of 1x. It may be slow, but way worth it.

i disagree

this cd loader people are asking about when used with a fliptop allows people to play games like splinter cell and hitman 2 which were the main problem games.

The first pages of this thread is a fliptop encyclopedia. Now this thread is like the fliptop community.

Just because 1 person can not unsubscribe doesnt warrent closing the thread. Thats rediculous. If you cant figure it out, block afterdawn.com emails completely as junk mail.
Or delete them, it takes 3 seconds.

If people are asking questions not exactly about fliptops, but the question is directly related, so what???

Give me a break. Long live this thread.

Hey guys, just got my PS2 the other day and already I'm itchin to backup the games I just got! I've modded my PSX, but I'm leaning more towards the fliptop cover this time. I understand that I'll also need to get the swap magic boot disc as well as the fliptop, but will I need a no-solder chip as well? Any and all info on this matter would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanx in advance,
Wulfie

Also, with a fliptop and swap magic, will I be able to play my ps1 cdr backups as well? I've seen a few other people that have a different boot disc (not swap magic), do these work as well or is the swap magic disc THE way to go? Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried to make dvd-r backups with different types of software.

The games that I used were: BDZ:Budokai, NBA Street Vol.2, Def Jam Vendetta and GTA:VC.

The Software that I used were: Instant CD/DVD, Nero 5.5 and DVD Decrypter 3.1.

None worked at all with Instant CD/DVD. All copied with Nero and DVD Decrypter. When in tried them in my PS2 the loading took forever. They all take about 20-30 minutes to load and after they do the game is very slow, its takes forever to select something, to go from one screen to another.

I use Memorex DVD-Rs for all the games and burned them at 1x (not on the fly).

I have version 5 PS2 with a flip-top and swap magic cd's

I have Pioneer DVD-RW (DVDR-104)

only game that works is DBZ:Budokai

Thanks in advance!!!

Windows XP
Intel P4 2.66 GHz
Pioneer DVD-RW (DVR-104)
DVD Decrypter 3.1.6.0
Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD
PS2 Version 5
Flip Top w/ Swap Magic
