newegg has a wonderful hdmi cable from link depot. its 7 bucks-ish. buy it, and it will help your cause. most people buying a ps3 on ebay have a huge awesome tv. they have to.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Thanks for the link for the HDMI cable. To stay on topic, I am camping out at the Chapel Hill Best Buy in Ohio. Midnight release! One employee I talked to said that he would bet they are getting 100+ PS3's. The only thing they have against campers is NO tents, and NO coolers. He also told me that Best Buy and Sony have some sort of contract as to where Best Buy is getting more consoles than any other retailer. He told me to get there no later than 3 p.m.. However, I called back this week and I got a different employee and he said no later than noon! Is anyone else going to camp at the Chapel Hill Best Buy? Im just curious.

Do you think Best Buy will actually allow people to camp outside? As in tents/sleeping bags? Is it safe to lay down?!? I called the Fargo Best Buy and they said they'll allow campers to camp on the east side of the door or something. Since we obviously can't camp in front of the doors while the store is open, are we supposed to camp to the side..and then when it closes, move the line up to the door?
On another note, when are you ebayers putting your PS3 up? Immediately after camping or the next day? Does it really matter? In my opinion, I can't see why it would make too much of a difference to post it the next day. I could be wrong though.
Hmmm...food. What type of food are you all bringing? I'm thinking granola bars and a lot of pop. My brother might even drive to a nearby Chipotle to pick up some food...not too sure about that though, cause I don't want his place in the line to be lost.

if you are first no one will mess with you. just make sure there are more people to cover you, plus take many pictures. the line can stay at the edge of the door.
and people are usually ok with you leaving the line if you need to pee or get food aslong as someone saves your spot and others know of whats happening.

Well as for bestbuy having the most out of retail stores for the ps3 , but having 100+ is totally false it's called marketing just to bring ppl in and sell out even thought it will. My sister is the manager at a bestbuy and said what their inventory say that they will have no more than 60, but if you do get there at a good time you should be good either way. Just watch out with the pop unles you have bottle to pee on or some to hold you place while you take your restroom break LOL
Oh yeah why don't you check out ps3seeker.com to check how many retail stores in you area are going to have.

Yeah, I sorta thought that 100+ is a little fishy. 60 max still sounds comfortable enough for me to get there on time to get one. My dad is getting thereno later than 8 am, then I will arrive after school. I can't wait, in about a week and 12 hours, I will be standing/sitting in line waiting for PS3.

check this sh*t out peeps
Ps3 Lines already started at Best Buy ?
Quote: Nine days until Sony?s PlayStation 3 launches in America, and lines are already forming. A CAG forumer went to Best Buy this morning and saw about 7 people waiting outside. He went inside and one of the workers told him that they had been there since Monday. He immediately pondered: ?Do these people have no lives??
Of course the life of the waiting-in-line-for-almost-two-weeks PS3 fans isn?t made easier by a bunch of people coming to Best Buy and making funny remarks like: ?I hope you guys brought enough food!? Another one said, ?Where is the line for PS4? Is it on the other side?

That's crazy. I don't see how people can take a week or so out of their life to camp for a PS3. As a college student, it's hard enough for me to take 2 days off.

@ anibus what is your source for this information. I guess the one employee was right after all. I am going to the Best Buy in Chapel Hill, Ohio. So 100ish PS3's? Any ratio on how many 60 GB versions there are going to be compared to 20 GB versions? Thanks for clearing that up, I thought the employee was lying to me. Also, since they are getting 100ish, what time do you all believe I should gget there by? I was planning on having my dad stay down there from 7 am until I got there from school around 3pm, what do you think?

Actually someone on here wants to get a 20Gb version and put in a 100 GB 2.5" SATA Hard Drive. I'm guessing he already has a network connector, etc.

I plan on getting the 60GB version also(and probably upgrade to a 300GB HDD later on, or whatever i can afford :)). Not for the HDD though, but Wi-Fi support and the memory stick ports(I've got a stockpile of those suckers).

Ok I think a 60gb version is fine enough there is no need to get a 300gb hd for a ps3 is there? Maybe for a computer but not a ps3....

@Hades: Of course there is a reason for a 300GB HDD, especially if a lot of games will let you install a 5GB installation for added quick load times(and who doesn't love 1-2 second loads?)

Really, who doesn't love 1-2 second load times?
I'll try to get this thread back on topic I guess.
I am having my dad get to the Best Buy around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, do you think that would be too late. FYI, I am going to a midnight launch, there should hopefully be around 100 PS3's according to anubis.
