Hi bilal123,
No, the Brits like Jenson Button. If he married a former spice-girl or something, he would be more popular than Beckham... I'm just saying that because we have nobody exciting here in Canada (J.V.?)
Quote: Hungary starts in just 4 days ;^) Now watch J.B. prove me wrong...
...and he did! But I am very happy to see him get his victory (and it was hard-fought, too) - as happy as anyone.
Poor Kimi, he's something else you know, very fast, very good driver.
But his luck was hard again in Hungary...
Does Jenson need a new team? The short answer - no.
Never forget that Honda is first and formost a racing engine company. It's what they do; old Soichiro Honda started it in the post-war years and people started to notice in the '50's. All the rest of their world-wide operation for them is just 'bonus' (it pays for everything - so it's good).
But because they race on Sunday they can sell more cars on Monday - so if they win (which they will) they can keep the Honda brand special, always. And they will win, trust me, or go crazy trying :^) LoL
I have always owned big Honda motorcycles over the years. I had a brand-new 1980 CBX 6-cylinder in March of 1980 (the first one in Canada. Of course, I was just a bambino back then...)
Anyway, Honda are world-leaders in their field; the equals of Ferrari or anyone.
JENSON!! Yes.

My two cents. I agree Jenson doesn't need a diff. team he has proved it to himself and every1 else that he can win races with honda and as you say they are a top quality team - maybe a little rough around the edges but aren't we all :P - and I hope to see Jenson go on to win many more races.
Being a brit myself all I can say is.. Go jenson!! lol
Also, Ye Kimi Raikonen (spelt right?) is a gr8 driver - but hard luck, I think so. I was impresed by de la Rosa at hungary though. Filling Montoya's shoes is a big job to do and to finish 2nd and race a v gd race is - in my opinion - v imprssive. Astonished by the new team Bmw Sauber and especially Kobica - I think he has big potential and would like to see more!

Yes, but on Sunday Honda and Jenson had theirstrategy spot on, but on dry weather i think it will be much more difficult for Jenson to win another race in a Honda.
(But they still are a great team and are improving all the time.)

Yo!
Where are you guys?
I don't get onto aD much anymore (too many kiddies with Consoles).
Man, I don't get that - you might 'play' for hours on your PC but in the end, it's still a computer y'know? But those consoles are just for games alone...
Perhaps we should all weep for the future ;^) I won't see it (I am very old).
But hey, I hope I'm around to see my guy Kimi win something...? I have Turkish qualifying on tape, gonna watch it now (7AM live broadcast is a little harsh).
So who do you like, lads? Will JB be fast again?

lol @ The_OldGitSenior
I watched Turkish qualifying live today & from what I saw I think that Jenson has a chance of the podium , but I wouldn't automatically think he was able to win.
Ferrari have front row & Renault 2nd row covered , so everything is looking to be a battle of the top two teams (as per usual).
Massa has pole so I can see him being fuelled lighter than Schuey & later on in the race he will come into place to be a rear gunner .. keeping the Renaults off Michaels back (if all goes according to plan of course)
whether Kimi comes into the mix I really cant say , he looked okay in qualifying but Pedro De Le Rosa didnt even make final qualifying session & is somewhere like 12th or something .. so anything can happen w/ McLaren (lol)
Anyway , I am looking forward to tomorrows Grand Prix :-)
Have a good 'un !!

Michael Schumacher is retiring. This is sad news for me and the world of Formula 1. To me he is without doubt the greatest driver in F1. This championship has gone right down the wire, and hopefully its decided on the last day, with Michael just pipping Alonso out, to retire in style. ;)

Now we're getting somewhere - that Alonso penalty (for 'impeding' Massa) a couple of weeks ago was pure BS.
Sir Jackie Stewart has spoken out, and good thing too :^)

Hey I don't really care who wins - I just want it to be fair.
And what about this kid Lewis Hamilton? Apparently he is the real deal, or what...?

USGP at indy is a go for next year, w00T!
totally impressed by kubica, if anything just for the fact that his name is robert kubica, so i get to call him Qbert. he kind of reminds me of the "Ricky Bobby" of F1, but if he keeps his head on straight he'll probably do very well.

What's up, ladies?
I have Michael's last race on tape, man that was a classic. I couldn't believe he came back around to that #&%$ Fisichella again, heheh - and finally passed him! Unreal.
Ah well, Giancarlo was just doing his job I s'pose...
I would have been happy to see Alonso win his championship but Ferrari win the Constructor - that's basically what Ferrari got screwed out of, and why Renault was very fortunate indeed weren't they? Alonso was never in doubt but as a team, Renault got lucky that day...

Quote: then why is Nascar number 1 guys LOL !
Nascar is number1 in the USA, a small isolated corner of the world, where they enjoy Taxi racing.
Quote: matter of fact its the most watched sport right behind the NFL
This also is not saying much - since only Americans watch the NFL.
Quote: this is why everyones jumping ship to Nascar
I won't even dignify that silly statement with a response...
aabbccdd you remain in my humble opinion, a fool. Have you ever left the USA for any reason? You really should give it a try, heheh.
And hey, how 'bout those election results? It seems not even your fellow Americans agree with you... LoL, thank goodness.
@Gerry1
How're you doing? Thanks for kind words, this site has become strangely 'American' lately (see above), not sure why.
Maybe it just seems that way since certain Americans are so arrogant...

Well I am tending to side w/ The_OGS when it comes to asking if you have ever been outside of the U.S [not replying to said question makes me think that you have not & maybe even a little embarassed to admit to].
Let me put it in further terms to comment(s) made before :
The 'so called' World Series has how many teams from every other nation in the world ? (don't want to hear about Cubans etc) lol
Anyway there is no calling anyone a prick , an Addict has the report user button just like everyone else !! (use it instead of decending to profanities please or find yourself suspended).
Back to question of Nascar , god how boring is that !!??
What makes anyone think that going round in circles is ever somekind of entertainment ? I mean what planet could someone come from where they'd sooner enjoy oval cicuits to ultimate speed machines being carfeully driven so as to cope w/ high G corners ?
/me hopes for a winning season for Ferrari next year :Þ

the reason nascar is so popular here is because in all reality, americans dont know crap about real racing! F1 is boring for people that only go to watch people crash, and have no idea how important shaving a 1/2 second per lap can be. If you like to watch people crash and not get hurt then nascar is what you want. if you want to watch racing where every single factor plays into the outcome of the race, whether it's a screw up of only 1 second by the wheel man in the pits, or a driver taking 1 corner too wide and scrubbing off a 1/4 of a second in 1 lap, then F1 is what you want. it all depends on how entertaining you want your racing to be. me personally, i find no entertainment value in cars going round and round bumping into each other and where even last place gets thousands of dollars.

How can u ber watching cars race in an oval for 100's of laps which weigh about 2x a Ford Falcon and take 1-2 OVAL laps to reach 300+km/h 180mph aprx. While an F1 car is faster then an F-18 Jet taking off and in a race reach up to 340km/h just down a 1km staright.

It has been suggested to me I was rude to Americans - this is certainly not my intention, not what I meant.
It's just, it's a big world and FIA Formula1 is the World Championship! Not to be confused with The JiffyLube 400 of Hooterville... right?
Anyway (I have said it before) championship roadracing requires
1) Race circuits - picturesque, timeless, famous courses both treacherous and challenging
2) Race cars - 600kg (including driver). State of the art.
3) Race drivers, accustomed to 3G acceleration, 4G cornering (yes, both directions) and ~5G braking, for 2hours or more.
I can't watch Nascars circle for more than 5-10 minutes - it's plenty unremarkable and (I'm sorry) just boring.
In F1 the cars are the stars! Then, the roadcourses.
The teams are important, and then the drivers (somewhat less so).
I have never really cared which individual driver wins... but some are more exciting than others, heheh.
Speaking of Kimi, he should be great next year! Can't wait.

dazila, stock cars have 900 plus horsepower ,theres lots of lead changes/passing which F1 racing doesn't have theres close racing which F1 racing doesn't have and theres 10 plus drives racing for the cup which any givin week someone different is on top of the points which F1 racing doesn't have F1 you pretty much know who's going to win the championship every year. its usually comes down to two drivers so to me thats WAY more boring than Nascar by a long shot and most must agree with me being Nascar is number 1 and drivers from ever series(even motorcross) is jumping ship to Nascar
