Ps3 Camping, Where & Why?

I'm back from camping, my dad has taken over. I was number 6 of 6 there at Circuit City. Some kids (3 of them) go to a nearby high school, and there are two people that go to the University of Akron. The kids that go to High School brought a TV, and PS2 so they can play and watch movies through the night. I'm glad there is a food source around Circuit City, theres Subway, KFC, Ruby Tuesdays, a Japanese Steakhouse, dollar store, etc. I am heading back out tommorow around 4ish pm so I can fill back in for my dad. Then he will be back around 9 or so, then I get to go home, sleep, wake up, go to school, and then wait until school is out to play my PS3. Can't wait only 35.5 hours until the PS3 will be officially mine. Its fun to camp, too bad my mom is a bitch about letting me stay overnight, too protective. Ohh well, I'll post more of how it went on Thursday night.

Dude, you owe your dad big.
I'm glad I live in a small-ish town. I will be leaving my place at about 3 AM Friday morning to camp in front of a store. I doubt I will have any problem getting one.

@cinch that's what I was thinking, about dad having to stay there pretty much the whole time, it's gonna be alot of chores and good grades to payback.

Walmart has the PS3 on the display since tuesday which is weird to me. Maybe its fake and just the case. But they had THP8 and Marvel for sale already. But i see no acessories tho. They will hand out tics at 10pm in the store...i called them and they said that they will start a line at 10pm on the 16 at a secret location within the store. I guess you will have to walk around like at 9:45 and sprint like hell when the line location is given.
24/7 Walmarts by the way.
Dont forget Gamecrazy ppl think they arent getiing any Ps3's since they didnt do pre orders but they are getiing 10 where i live. They open at 7pm on luanch day.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

lol im not worried about rush to the booth its more like rush to the line that passes out ticks...
But if my Walmart attempts fails at midnight i will have to go and scope out a few areas where the line is short and hope to God that i get a Ps3.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

So far there isn't anyone next to my Best Buy. My Grandpa lives rigth behinde the store so he can see the line form here sign from his dinning room. It is wweird they are asking people to camp in the loading area by the back door not front.

I have a test tomorrow and a orthodontist appointment :(, hopefully my second to last orthodontist visit :). I did not know until tonight but the Toys R Us near me was taking pre orders last week for the ps3.
My plan was to camp out in front of best buy starting at ~3:30pm tomorrow but they are only guaranteed to have 20 of the 60GB consoles. The search goes on...

oh well I hope you get there in time man after you take care of bidness . maybe you still will be able to get there . I think most store should make people go home until the night before launch ,that would get rid of alot of headaches

most everywhere i went today had fairly large lines...it has rained since about 4 in the afternoon here, a few times it was really raining hard, but people seem to be hanging tuff. its all over the local news. it is actually kind of funny driving past target and all you see are 4 or 5 tents set up along the building. i did stop and talk to a guy today and asked what time he showed up and he said since 6am. that is insane...

Some of the guys I camped with were there at 10:30 am. I didn't get there until 4:30ish. Yeah, I know I owe my dad HUGE. Since he is unemployed though... it could be treated as a vacation. And all the guys that were camping near me said that I should sell mine. Not after this long of a wait I'm not. I could care less if its buggy, overheats, etc, I just want to play some Resistance. It really isn't even a line, its a group of 6 guys that are waiting, everyone holds each others spot. Cicuit City is also offering a 2-4 year warranty on the console which I guess is nice, so when I screw it up with homebrew, I can just return it.
