Hello again..crzsnwbdr..when U convert a cropped video [AVI,Mpeg,Vob] or whatever type U have.U still end up with a cropped video in a diff. format..U need a program like MainconceptH264 or ProCoder2 to stretch the Video back to its original size..I'm sorry I'm the only one replying to your predicament..I guess I'm the only one here who gives a shit..come on everybody !! lets get some sort of response here,I'm curious to about some other type of procededure that might work also..if their is any ?

Hello dzuki77...U need a DivX,Mpeg4 DVD Player to play AVI Movies..I use the AVAYON DXP1000
With a standard DVD Player U must first convert your AVI's to VOB files to comply..Try a small prog called VSO DivXtoDVD to convert yor AVI's.I strongly recomend U buy a few DVD RW to practice with & to see the quality of which u might or might not be happy with...Converting movies is ok to watch a movie U just might have to see now..but not necessarily a keeper..so wait for it to come out on DVD..for the permanent copy

crzsnwbdr, i found a site on videohelp.com (http://aktee.t35.com/) that allows you to RE-SIZE your files so that once you burn it, nothing will be cut off... basically, i think what this site teaches you to do is how to convert your files to DVD compliant format in batch form (rather than one by one) and at the same time, re-sizing your file so that it meets the tv-safe area... the thing is, it uses an encoder to encode your files, and the output is (suposed to be) .m2v and .av2 files... i'm having a little trouble with this part... once i burn, the movie is fine, there's nothing cut off, but i have no audio.. i'm not sure if it's my problem or not, but i'm trying to figure it out... check out this site.. i'm not sure if this is what you're looking for or not...

hello i have a problem my dvd player is panasonic s-295 and i burned lost season 1 on dvd's but only those 350 mb episodes works and not those 700 mb episodes who there are the most and i now it's because they use XviD codec and my dvd player can't play them
i read AVI to dvd encoding programs but i tried a few whitout luck
the sound is way later then the people who speaks and there are green dots on the screen
can somebody recommend a good program?

Give WinAVI a try. There's a trial period so you know what you're getting, and a very good FAQ section on the WinAVI website (www.winavi.com). The support is excellent too- any problem/ query is dealt with quickly. I've tried a few video converters and this is my favourite.

hello!
at the moment i am trying to convert two AVI file's onto one dvd format, but this is where i get stuck, the two AVI files have got two spearate subtitles file which are *.srt, how would i convert the two AVI files also convert the *.srt files, so when i burn it on to dvd, i can see the AVI file and the subtitles when it is playing!
can someone help me plz?

hello, i just downloaded the TMPGEnc and i'm trying to convert my .AVI files to dvd, but it says it can not open or it's unsupported. i dunno what's wrong. please point me in the right direction. thanx in advanced

Nephilim is right on...
The AVIcodec and Gspot will tell you what the file was put together with.
TMPGEnc MPEG Editor and TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress will convert most depending on how the AVI was packed .. what you want to convert it to? (like you can put a AVI file together DivX, Xvid and lots of others. TMPGEnc programs are very good and you can also d/l helpers for some of their programs ... search the software section for the Quicktime plugin for TMPGEnc ... that one save me a lot of trouble once... I use TMPGEnc DVD Author after converting with TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress... excellent DVD's. Programs are easy to use as well.
Nephilim, you have one or two more movies than I do... great collection.

I sure found a simple solution !! I went out & bought a DivX DVD player for $60.00..now i can put about 5 movies on one DVD..I just got finished watching all of Deadwood Sea.2 [12 episodes] on one DVD..no conversion what a time saver..& no quality loss on the download..I have now taken to downloading all my favorite TV shows in [divx,avi]..this is a lot quicker then recording & cutting out the commercials myself & to be honest the quality is better then what i get on my Dish.Most of what I D/L is HD TV.Which my Dish does not furnish..so I'm happier then a tit sucker..

Just to share some info on the subject. I once had everything running fine converting avi's & svcds using a combination of tmpgeng plus and dvd studio pro. This I found to be the best and most reliable method after trying almost everything. One day I went to convert a SVCD as usual but got the message 'codecs not installed' (or words to that effect) from TMPGEnc.
I installed various codecs to try and remedy the problem but to no resolution. I assumed that I must have installed a program since it last worked and began unistalling programs that i thought might have caused the problem such as roxio creator. Eventually I gave up and reinstalled windows (data etc on 2nd partition). I installed my programs and the same problem. After several trial and error attempts, I discovered that I had at some stage upgraded TMPGEnc and the 'new' version was the cause of the error. After rolling back to the previous version, everything went back to normal and the codec error has never bothered me since. It was a lesson that took a long time to learn. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". This happened about a year ago so I can't remember the buggy TMPGEnc version. I stick to 2.521.58.169

i was wondering if there is anyone out there who can help me? i have downloaded a rar file and it contains *.bin and *.cue files.
first of all what is a *.bin file and *.cue files?
second im tring to convert *.bin and *.cue files into one *.AVI file, is there anyone who can help me?

Bin and Cue files are used to recreate an entire disk (i.e. like .ISO). Use Fireburner or Nero to create the disk ;)

Yes. That means CD or DVD. You can tell which one by the size of the .Bin file. How do you convert it? Well, see what is on the disk first. Maybe there is/are .AVI or .MPG or whtever. I don't know what you have yet.

i downloaded a win rar file via bit torrent, so the only files are bin and cue files in the win rar compressed folder.
i havent created a cd or a dvd yet, as Nero doesn't accept the the files? i don't know what to do?

Hello coolkaka...U gonna have to get real confused at 1st but don't worry it will all come to u !! To start with u need G-Spot to read your files..it will tell u if its AVI or Mpeg..U can also use a program called ISO Buster to extract the raw Video to its original form..next time before u download the torrent,look at it.It usually will say what it is [KVCD,SVCD,VCD,MPEG,AVI,DivX,VOB,Mpeg4,Mpeg2]Bin is just a method for storing & burning CONFUSED YET..Welcome to our WORLD
ONCE U have all this figured out [assuming u have a DVD-CD Burner]U can burn these files any way u like to watch on your TV as [AVI's,Divx]if u have a DivX DVD player,if u don't have this type of player u will have to burn them as DVD's after u convert your [AVI's,Dixx]to DVD compatible files..with a program called DivXtoDVD..DON't panic it sounds harder then it really is..U will be an expert in just a matter of days,providing u can read & follow instructions..and HAVE a little common sense..none of this is a yellow brick road,but it sure is a helluva lot of fun
Don't forget to use RW Disc's [re-writes] to start with..cause as smart as we all might soud here..we even make mistakes,or download a crappy file every so often..AGAIN Welcome to the magical world of pure Video Insanity HaHahaaaahaaaa Good LUCK rick5446

thanks for getting back to me, your right it is quite confusing! i understand the the g-spot as i have tried it, and this tell's me what audio and visual codec do i need, am i right?
i also i understand the converting part divx to dvd,
but i don't understand about iso buster

Hello..coolkaka..use iso buster to extract raw mpeg..right click mouse on track 01 a window opens at the top in bold [Extract Track 01]move your mouse to that,another win opens..go down to treat as Video ONLY EXTRACT BUT FILTER ONLY M2F2Mpeg video frames.. this will give u a true Mpeg file extracted from your [svcd or vcd or kvcd]..if u don't extract this way,the end will be cut off of your Mpeg file..You can now do what u will with it.If u have an SVCD video NTSC 29.97 Fps, u can use TMPG DVD to turn it into a playable DVD on your settop dvd..I really think it will work on VCD's too..not sure..but really the easiest way is to use Divx to DVD CONVERTER..this way any Mpeg u convert will be compatible..But the important thing is useing ISO Buster to get the complete Mpeg file fron your bin
The Pirate Bay & Demonoid are a couple of good places to start..just start asking questions..you'll be an expert before u know it..just be patient..it all comes to those who wait..learn the file sizes & listen to those who have something to say about the files..sometimes last is better

And the important setting for TMPGEnc if you always got a file unsupport ...... blad blad ....... ,, Option / Environmental setting / VFAPI plug-in / DirectShow Multimedia File Reader (just right click on it then set this higher priority to 8 - 10)
