And yes, my PSP boots to 1.50... My USB cable has been corrupted... I think I'm going to get an MS adapter... I don't know if I can find one in the UK, but hey...
So, just say I an MS adapter... Could I get another version of UPMS to work on 1.50? Not that it matters because my battery is in Service mode and I can copy my backed up UPMS files into my MS...
Well, thanks for helping...
I'll see if I can get my mum to buy me an MS Adapter from eBay lol :P]

EDIT: Uh, hey, can the MS Adapter just stick into a normal USB port...? I have no SD Slot or w/e it is... Please tell me they fit in normal USB slots >.<
When you say the USB is corrupted, do you mean the cable itself, or the port on the psp? Because if you can rustle up a USB cable-you can update from 1.50 using the conventional methods, or you could run the TotalNewbi installer from your computer or get DCv3 on your memory stick at least to get you on a custom firmware so you can remake your UPMS memory stick...? But if your port is messed up, you will need a card reader for your computer for sure to get the files on the memory stick.

It's the USB cable because I switched my mouse's port and PSP's port and the mouse works fine, but the PSP doesn't work.. Do you think there's some sort of corrupted key? As soon as I get an adapter, I'm going to run a key cleaner first.

Its possible you may have corrupted something in the idstorage for the the USB to not work because cables don't usually just stop working like that..You would at least be able to wiggle the cable and get some sort of connection if it were going bad..

Does your UMD drive work ok? Usually that is another thing that stops working when you have corrupted keys as well.

I upgraded to official firmware using my UMD discs. I then tried the UPMS and it worked! But only the DC-3... So I'm re-installing the UPMS. I got a question, I installed the keycleaner, buy it doesn't seem to be in the GAME menu.. Why is that?

^^Are the other apps listed in the GAME menu? Like pspfiler and the 1.50 kernel patch, M33UPDATE, etc..? Make sure when you created the UPMS again that you did not copy UPDATE.PBP to the root of your memory stick...Just 150.PBP, and 371.PBP-Thats what I ended up doing, and none of my extras showed up in the menu even though I went and installed them manually...

Use the link for the most recent verison thats on the first page of this thread-and remember not to include the UPDATE.PBP when you copy your eboots to the root of your memory stick.

I'm using the old UPMS... Anyways, I can see the file MaxSafe 1.0 on under the GAME list. That's all... Maybe I did place UPDATE.PBP in the root.. =/

EDIT:New problem.
I have re-installed the UPMS and all the KeyCleaner and all that is OK. But I tried to turn on my UPMS but the MS and WiFi lights was flashing constantly... Is this fixable?

Yeah, I would start over and use the newer version (emerald)-and just omit the UPDATE.PBP when copying over the eboots to the root of your memory stick-the installer makes a copy of that eboot for you.
Step#3 in the installer will install the extras automatically if done correctly.

My USB is malfunctioned so I need to stick with the old UPMS... Should I just re-install my current version?

Thats right, your USB situation...Then just run the version that you have (the older one) and for that one, you WILL want to include the UPDATE.PBP when copying over the eboots...Let me know if that works.

can anyone tell me what on earth i seem to be doing wrong. I am currently running the dark alex 3.80 m3304 custom firmware, prior to that it was 3.71 m33-4, prior to that it was 3.03 oec, originally it was sony's 2.60.

Ive had no problems modding my psp from the word go, but one of my dumb arse friends who i modded a psp for a while ago with 3.03 oec then 3.71 m33-4, decided to try the remote play option on his ps3 for which he needed a 3.8 update. Rather than coming to me he did an automatic network update online and is now running the official 3.8 firmware (he wonders why his iso games wont play)

Ive tried creating a magic memory stick to use with my tool battery so i can use the pandora option to downgrade it to 1.5 and start from scratch but all i get when i try and start the magic memory stick installation is 'game could not be started'...this happens when i choose 'pandora firmware.inst' from the game folder.

Ive been advised that it may be the kernal i was running when i started the installation so ive changed it from 3.8 to 1.5 on the recovery menu...ive also tried placing the files for the magic stick in both the 'game' and 'game150' folders on the root of the memory stick and i get exactly the same thing....i am at a loss. I tried an auto installer program which ran and seemed to format the magic stic ok but when i try and use it with the tool battery i just get another error message saying 'memory stick could not be read'

does anyone have any ideas for a very frustrated individual....is there any way of downgrading the 3.8 (no matter how complicated) without using the magic memory stick option (as there is for downgrading 3.71 without the memory stick.

In step 1 what IPL did you install? What type PSP are you using Phat or Slim? Did you try removing the battery and MS then reinserting the stick then the battery?

Is the IPL folder on the MS? If so you may need to re-do the install. This time make sure you format the MS in the PSP first. And only use the 371.pbp and the 150.pbp. Well I'm at work now so I will check back when I can.

One more thing I thought of, is you MS fake or genuine? If fake run fakecard on it or the sony MS formatter. Both are available on our forums. We are down for maintenance. If you need these files hit me up later on our chat and I will send them to you. I get home at 5:00pm eastern standard time.(-5 GMT) CLICK HERE for chat room login.

I created a pandora battery with upms emerald while on 3.71m33-4 on a fat and was able to convert battery back to pandora or normal without a problem.
Now that I am on 380m33-4 and try to go into the battery tools in upms I get this message "error 0x8002 exiting". So I can't even try to do anything with my battery. I tried it with a slim running 371m33-4 that I had installed using that battery and MS and it worked just fine. Is there something wrong with my fat psp or is there someting I need to change to get it to work again or is it a firmware problem.

After doing the previous post I went to download the upms installer and saw the note saying ipl install was blocked by sony on 380. SO does anyone have a solution for me to be able to switch my battery back to normal. I already updated my buddies slim to 380m33-4 as well :) :(?

No, it's not your psp for those on 3.80 m33 firmwares. I thought something was wrong too until I did some research. As of right now, UPMS will not work on 3.80 m33, it'll just give you an error. They're working on it right now I think or they may wait til Dark_Alex comes out with a new update for Despertar del Cementerio and go from there.

Anyways, there are alternatives out there that does work for 3.80 m33. I forgot the link to the one I used.

Edit: This was what I used as a alternative method http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610312

This is correct 3.80 is not working with U.P.M.S. at this moment. But as anon0718 said there are work arounds. We currently are working on this. Gh0st has it fixed for U.P.M.S.

When ready a revision to U.P.M.S. will be released. Please do not ask us or post asking us when. It will be launched when we feel it is ready.

Also some of us are looking into ways of emulating the FW from the MS. So when new FW is released you can test it before truly flashing it. This will be separate from U.P.M.S. and possible added to it in the future.

Need help with Phat 3.71-m334 semibrick

I tried to create a pandora's battery using upms on my phat psp. After numerous tries trying to create one it wouldn't work. Someone told me it wasen't working cause the psp im creating the memory stick on has a custom theme and i need a psp with the defualt theme for the original files to be installed.

So i try to flash the defualt files back to my flash0. After doing that it resulted in a semibrick. I can still access the recovery menu but thats it. I tried reflashing with the orignal flash0. No luck.

I also tried using the recovery menu. No luck. Only goes to a black screen then cuts off.

So my only hope is a pandora's battery right? I have a friend's slim cfw psp right now. But his psp also has a custom theme on it. So the upms installer won't work. Any help?
