there's a time to joke, and a time not to. don't joke in the stickies, as they are there to help people. if any members act like larry did, it's because we hate people asking the same question. every. single. time. most of them just ask right away, without even searching.

I will I just get aggravated at times which makes me wonder why I even bother.
I counted 15 times in the first 7 pages of post either saying to use a different PC/Memory Stick when users had issues with a Black Screen and no menu.
As well around 10 times in the first 7 pages users asked if you could use a FAT Pandora Battery in a SLIM.
Just think how many more times those questions have been asked in all 17 pages.
I know the same questions being asked over and over again will never be resolved but lately it has gotten out of hand.
I will also say there are just as many post saying thank you for the guide it worked perfect ect. etc. and that is a main reason why I still help and others do as well.

luismjr1, what does the forum rule #1 state that you didn't even bother to do? post that rule #1 here in this thread or suffer the consequences. all members on this site from mods to newbies which includes you are here of our own free will & time as we do not get paid for this. attitude like yours has pissed off all levels of members because you didn't do a proper search first. next time you have a question, search 1st before posting as it is most likely has been answered.

Well, I hear try a different PC or try a different memory stick. I only have one of both and pandora battery/magic stick is supposed to recover your PSP, right?
My PSP doesn't even turn itself on all the way so I can't even recover it using pandora battery and whatnot. That's all I'm saying.
EDIT: Wait a tic, I think the recovery menu is still opening up but I have to work blind pretty much. Here goes nothing.. =(

If your getting a Green Led when inserting the Pandora Battery it should work.
The only suggestion that can be given is to use a different PC and or Memory Stick. I know you say you don't have access to any other but that isn't my problem.
You can't expect us to have some magic fix for you. It just happens some Memory Sticks and PC have issues creating the Magic memory Stick. The only way you can fix this issue is by finding a compatible PC/Memory Stick to get the job done.

and to clear things out, it wasnt me the one that asked that question,(read the original post, i didnt ask anything) as i said, i was just kidding, i just saw that somebody asked something, and that larry answered that he should look back in previous posts b4 asking, then i just saw the opportunity to make a little joke, but that was it, i had no intention to bother nobody, but it is good to see how ppl reacts to jokes, i wont do it again.

There have been a few that have had issues with XP 32-BIT and tried a diffrent PC and it worked. You just need to keep trying to use diffrent PC/Memory Stick till you find a combo that works.

It might install the UPMS files to memory Stick but to create the Pandora Battery + Magic memory Stick you have to run the UPMS installer don't you? If that is the case you will need a custom firmware PSP to do so.

yes and your point?
All I am saying is users have said the UMPS easy installer can be run on Vista. How does that help anyone in this guide? All the easy installer does is install the UMPS files (.cso) to the memory Stick which needs custom firmware to run to actually make the Pandora Battery plus Magic Memory Stick.

my point? there is no need of doing anything else but what this great guide says to turn an oficial psp into a CustomFirmwared PSP.

Just chill out on the arguing. Well at least take it somewhere else. This place doesn't need the arguing and whatnot.
Great guide nevertheless. I'm still trying to figure everything out though. =P

So now I pretty much have to work blind now, what's the best way for me to recover my PSP since I can't see anything? Just follow the guide? Use another PSP? etc..? How do I know I'm working blind? What if I'm just an idiot and think I'm working blind, when in reality, its just done and can't be unbricked?
I know they're kind of stupid questions, just trying to stick to the topic. :P

The easy installer is an updated version which has video support for SLIM PSP's. So you shouldn't have to perform a blind install.

The PSP that I'm referring to is a fat PSP. My slim PSP works fine. But what was funny, what I did to cause' a brick is just reformat my memory stick using the PSP itself. Now my fat PSP turns on with the memory stick and pandora battery, that's it. I don't hear any noises or anything like that.
I'm tempted to downgrade my slim PSP but I don't want the same thing to happen again. :(
EDIT: Forgot to mention, when I used the MUX 2.0 application, it didn't work. When I even tried to upgrade my fat PSP normally just using a game that had official FW, it didn't work. Nothing worked after I accidently downgraded to 1.50. After I downgraded, everything just stopped working. :(

If you formated the memory stick then you probably don't have the proper files on the Magic Memory Stick. Try plugging in the PSP via AC Adapter (without the Pandora Battery inserted) and turn on the PSP.
See if the PSP will boot using just the AC Adapter. If it does then use this guide (Magic Memory Stick part) to recreate the magic memory Stick which will upgrade your PSP to 3.71 M33-2.
After you make the Magic Memory Stick turn off the PSP and unplug the AC Adapter and update via Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery.
