The 360 I modded last week is still running strong on Live. It's only played backups that checked out 100% in abgx360. If you've been downloading games almost 1/4 of the releases out there have been bad. Any number of games could have flagged you for banning. Mulleter isn't good enough anymore to check for bad backups.

There are too many ways to rip a game.
There to many different versions of firmware for your game drive including all 4 drives.
Too many downloaded games.
So many endless possibilities to find out why people are banned from LIVE. It's going to be a mystery for a long time.
What if it's 6 or 7 things Microsoft bans people for?

The ppl that think that MS can detect the firmware need to read more.
It is not the firmware that they can detect...period!
I won't go into the why's and the why nots...just read and understand it a bit more is all you need to do.

Whats the latest version of abgx360??? I have 0.9.4, yet it never seems to find any game in the database. Maybe because Im PAL region???

i have 2 modded xboxs one got banned. the other one thats not banned i havnt been online yet with it u think if i get a new hdd and make a new gamertag that will work or do i not try

That happens to me too with the newer games & I'm NTSC. For example Shaun White Snowboarding Target Limited Edition, Mirros Edge & Left 4 Dead.

I'm UK, modded for months now, currently still not banned - use DVD Mulliter on all games, never heard of abgx360 but will look into it... currently using a sammy with 1.4 xtreme.
Since people mentioned updates being of odd sizes lately, I decided to clear my cache while I was still fine... so that might be helping me survive the ban too, since it clears past game updates too.
Recently played:
- GO2 online (completed all 50 Hoard) and done a few chapters of the game. Played after release, using release version (can't remember which one now).
- Fable 2 online again, started a few days before release, but when others who preordered were on. Played it to completion.
- Mirrors Edge, god that game sucks. Still completed it though! lol
Never played:
- COD5 yet, want to, but with all this going on, best not to risk it
- SR2, never going to either.
I'm not one of these people who puts in a game and never plays it again, so I'm guessing you couldn't tell I'm modded by my game history.
I'm just hoping that my xbox holds out until the update tomorrow (for us in UK) so I can at least cache to hdd.

That isn't saying that it failed, just that it wasn't able to download the file. As a result, it wasn't able to completely check that it is 100% stealth against the database. Did you read that log?
I have the same error pop up when I check a copy of Madden that I ripped with a kreon drive. I know it's perfect, but I get that same error.
If something didn't match, it would say it, not your basic 404 file not found error.

Banned as of yesterday :(
UK based, Hitachi 47 with iExtreme 1.4.
I only check all my ISO's via mulleter, am a bit annoyed as I only play CoD4 about once a month for an hour or two, completed GoW2, SR2 but never took them online, DID play before release date though.
Just downloaded L4D which is amazing but the worst game to have when not online!
(On a side note, my Dash says the account is banned but none of my other accounts sign in either, so I guess it's the console)

I've signed in a few times last night and this morning, nothing so far... not saying it's over, but I don't see them banning while the update is going live, it would be too much for tech support to handle I think. :)

It does a way deeper scan of the games than mulleter. I still use mulleter, because sometimes it can fix what abgx360 cannot. Both compare games to verified retail rips. So that means you can get a true test of a game until it's been officially released for a few days. You can DL abgx360 from the link below.

I tottaly disagree with you...I never played any backup online, this week I installed my wireless modem connected to the Xbox, and played only the GOW2 that I bought on the store.
After burning a backup of FIFA 09, I tried to play it in the console, with Xbox Live off , the game was not recognized (maybe because it´s NTSC and my console is Pal - is this true?), then, as it didn´t work, I started to play the GOW 2 an re-connected the Xbox Live, tha´t's when it said that my account was banned.
It all happened last friday. What do you think of that?

did u turn off the xbox b4 playing the retail gears 2,also the ntsc version of fifa 09 is said to be region free.so maybe somthing els stop it from playing but it sounds like the game did load the info

Doesn't matter if you've played it offline or not, I'm guessing by the fact you have mixed regions it means you are downloading images - which means it could be any number of reasons, deliberately tagged leaked releases, botched burn, anything really.
Not saying it isn't them detecting the firmware or is, just pointing out it doesn't sound like you had the perfect crime going there. :)
