Or it recognizes also a USB pen drive???

I have run into most of the problems mentionned in this post and I found out that the problem I had with my 256MB Kingston Data Traveller 2 memory key was because I was not ejecting the key properly from my computer. When you have finished copying files to the key on your computer you must use the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the notification area of the taskbar and then stop the hardware device. This alone pretty much fixed any detection problems I had in the Media Player and Memory Management software.
I've got a tried with a 512MB card (cheap el'Future Shop key) and it works perfectly too.

Well, my Sandisk 256Mb pen still won't work!
I'm really getting annoyed with this thingy!!!
Factory format, it won't work.
With USBoot, neither!
Format with XP, FAT 16 Bit, use disconnect device, it won't work also....
Format with XP, FAT 32 Bit, use disconnect device, nothing....
It seems my V5 PS2 is not fun on getting a USB pen connected....
Well, since i'm up to everything, i've tryed my USB mouse connected to it, and it just doesn't work...
How can i check if the PS2 USB ports are working???
And by the way, can i connect an external USB disk drive to my PS2(AND MAKE IT WORK!!!)???
Any help, please.... (from someone getting desperate)

read step 3
step 3. if the blue pen icon doesnt show up, then your pendrive doesnt work with armax.
simple as that.
have you tried using a digital camera? they also work with ARMAX.
An external usb HD might also work.

before i got my pendrive I used to use my camera with armax and it worked great.
If your camera has a memory card in it you can use it with ARMAX. it works, trust me =)

Well, my external card reader doesn't work, so i'll give it a try with the camera....
I managed to get two more pen drives, one 128Mb, other 256...
So, if none works, i'm betting seriously in my PS2 USB ports being really damaged....

Well, you can try Datel (www.codejunkies.com), or Ebay...
Also all major PS2 stores somehow might have it...
Returning to my USB pen issue, i've tryed 3 different pen drives, and none works...
But now i've noticed a thing in AR MAX:
- When i remove the mem card, its icon appears greyed out, so i get TWO MEMORY CARDS ICONS GREYED OUT AND NO USB ICON, EITHER GREYED OUT OR NO!!!!
Can this be a issue with my AR MAX disc???
I'm using it in a PS2 SCPH-30004 R, with a NoSolder chip, with the AR2 8M Card dongle!
Can this be of any interference???
I wonder if anyone has this same "bug"....

Hey guys
I've been having the same problems.
I bought an ARmax and I have a 512Mb usb pen drive (unbranded), but I can't get my PS2 (new slim one :0) to read the usb drive.
When I use the AR max the drive is highlighted (I can copy files/saves to the usb on my pc) but when I select the usb it either says that there are no files on it or is no space on the drive. Which is stupid since it's brand new.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers

I think I've find a solution
I have n-gage and my first try vith AR-Max to store my game saves sucsess. But then I have reformat my memory card with the devices format tool because of some errors and then Ar-Max don't recognise my n-gage. At last I've formatted my device with the utility called "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool"
with theese settings:
File system: FAT (not FAT32 or NTFS)
Unchek the Quick format (Full Format)
Now I can use my n-gage as the maxdrive again. Maybe it can help!

Well, i think the problem is from AR MAX Upgrade, since it doesn't recognize also the USB port in a PS2 v4!!!
Anyway, i've sent several emails to Datel, and nothing!!!
Their support just sucks, or is it just with me???
Also, their forums seem to have dissapeared!!!
Anyway, i'll give it a try with the Hp proggie, but now my USB pen seems to have hidden somewhere.....
By the way, does anyone knows a way to read DVD-RW in a PS2???
Can it be donne??
Thanks!

Hi
I tried using a smaller pendrive (128) and this worked fine, so I think that there must be some sort of limit on the storage size.

By looking at this thread, using a pen drive and f**king up my mem card, the problem seems to be the USB version. They've got this new usb 2.0 that doesnt work with old usb 1.1 ports. I looked for a usb 1.1 because ive only got usb 1.1 ports on my comp. PS2's were made before usb 2.0 came out so they aren't equipped with them. So look at the technical specs on your pen drive and if its usb 1.1 you should be fine. If it's 2.0 ONLY then your pretty much f**ked.

Hey everybody, for the information sake, I bought the action replay EVO, yeap, and i use my creative labs MUVO TX 256MB Mp3. It works, it works perfectly. So i am happy with max evo. I think MAX EVO has a generic USB driver, i plugged several pen drives from my friends, all of them works. Transcend 256MB Mp3 Player USB Thumb drive - Works fine, Kingston USB Pen Drive, works fine. I'll check more an post em over here.
