Thanks for the help, turns out all I had to do was turn the SwapMagic to NTSC and it worked fine. However both my PS2 and AR Max are NTSC. So I didnt think that I needed to do this.
Oh well, it works finally. Thanks again.

ssj4V posted a link on to* rapidshare for Action Replay Max* Evo and I was wondering if you have to use high quality CDs to burn it or will it work with any CD?

@ jaskaran
LOL, thats what I thought too. I usually spend 2 hours of reading the forum per thread before asking a question. Grant it that some threads are extremely long, but hey....is it too much to ask to make an effort?

So what is the conclusion?
I am reading mix messages here, for everyone who is yelling
"ALL USB KEYS WORK, JUST USE HP FORMAT TOOL", I tried it and it didn't work so I don't know what to say to that. I've had one usb key that indeed worked with it but I misplaced that..stupid me >.>;; Anyways, after 6 pages of messages I am gathering that :
- AR Max or AR max Evo works
- Not all USB keys work
- Try the HP Format Tool

That's what I've been trying to tell the other guy who told me all USB keys work. He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, and he didn't even repsond to my post.

I maintain that MOST if not ALL keys will in fact work, IF partitioned and formatted correctly.
However, it would not surprise me if some CANNOT be partitioned correctly, and therefore will never work. *shrug*

no offense, but if you step back and reread ur sentence I think we are on the same page.
I think the biggest problem is for the ones that can indeed get the blue icon to show up in AR max but are getting the 4GB + write error when trying to copy files onto it.

I always got the blue icon to show up. I have never seen a single key or AR Max combo that failed to produce the blue icon. However, not a single one of my USB keys was formatted/partitioned correctly out-of-box. Every last one of them needed to be repartitioned and reformatted in order to work... and every last one of them COULD be repartitioned and reformatted to work.

My contention is that there is some as-yet-unknown external variable in the equation that prevents your keys from working. I contend that all keys COULD work, but that something - not necessarily user error, I apologize if that was inferred - is preventing it.

@ Gurm
A few posts ago you said that you maintain MOST of them, but earlier you said they should ALL work. Now that you bring up the external variable, I wonder what it could be if it's not the partitioning of it.

can someone tell me where i can download HP FORMAT TOOL, i was looking for it all over. HP Site's link doesn't work. :( i am glad that the thread i started very long time ago still alive and doing well. One more thing, i had a Creative mp3 player Mu.VO 256mb about a year or so back, it was working fine with MAX EVO, until it got crashed and stopped working, after that i couldn't find any other pendrive that works. i wonder if kingston pendrives work?
thanks

ok, I know I'm either late or Too late for this thread, but I'll give it a shot any way...I have my own 256MB flash drive , a V7 ps2 moddded, and i've loaded some .max roster files from NCAA Football 2006. The flash drive lights up only when the game begins, BUT it doesn't show where the files are in the PS2 (Only my mem card bays 1&2), i've used MAX DRIVE to load the files from my CPU to the flash drive, but nothing shows on the PS2. Can someone direct me where I can D/L an image of the file or e-mail it to me?????????? Thanx!!!!!!

Scratch That! Got another problem...I got a copy of ar max burnt on cd and everything...now it won't load ... Tried loading it in the ps2 alone and it gave me a red screen, saying it needed a ps2 formattted disk. Then tried with a swap magic CD version disc then it just froze with another type of red screen. What to do...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a Sandisk 256MB USB pendrive and it wont work on the PS2,I borrowed a LEXAR 512MB and it worked fine,I am wondering is it XPs format style that fcks with the drive? I recall havieng troubles with gettign stuff formated by XP to work on 9X and stuff....,anyway I am reading thru this thread.
I have Code breaker Version 9 and a version 7 PS2,it seems comaplitblty for the PS2 flash drive wise is fickle 0-o
I dont think sandisk USB drives work at all on PS2s 0-o

I have made multiple Sandisk drives work on my PS2, as well as Lexar and Dell.
