Sorry again guys, but what does it mean if my connected seeds are getting low? I mean instead of going up, its just getting low. And I can't connect through all the seeders.

At one point its 19 seeds connected, then after a minute it will go back to 14. Am downloading a 700MB filse size and it seems that that's the only file that does that. Any files that I download between 100-275MB are fine.

Any clue guys?

It's not constant though my man, when the file is 700MB, then my average is 25-30kbps. But when am downloading 270MB, then its like 60-100kbps.

For this past few weeks it seems that my connection got slower. It no longer reaches for 120kbps.. :(

yeh thats sounds more right, however the speed is also dependant on your internet connection as i have seen someone who has been on a constant speed of 1mb.

Thanks for the guide. My speed is now from 300 to 500 kbs.The only thing that really helped was when I forwarded the port on my router and changed the upload rate to 30.Before I got 20-30 kbs combined(all torrents).

By the way I didn't listen too the only one torrent at a time part cause I like downloading multiple torrents.

I still wish I could surf the net while downloading though.See ya

Nah, the test at http://www.broadbandreports.com/tweaks said everything was cool but that I needed to become pingable. Problem is the guide there for becoming pingable with Kerio is for an ancient version and I can't figure out how to do it with the latest 4xxx version.

actually I got kerio firwall too.The 1.6 version of utorrent is having problems since I upgraded.I don't know if it's related I was just saying....Utorrent now says "unconnectable" and that I need to forward my port...But I did and was doing fine with 1.5.

I guess that's what I get for upgrading lol.

When you pass your (1.4MB) through this test http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ what is your download and upload speed? i have the same 1.4MB using a NextNet Wireless Router, my DL is 1332kbps (166kb a second) UP 207kpbs (25.9 kb a second)

And can someone tell me a guide to portforward NextNet Wireless Router? http://www.portforward.com don't have it.

Great guide DVDBack23, i think it was the network encryption, but now my downloads for a 4gb file go around 200 KB/S which is alot better than the 20-30 i was getting before.

DVDBack, do you have any guide on maximizing downloads using regular BitTorrent client (4.20.4)? Or would you recommend to use a certain Torrent program in particular?

Im just wondering if my downloads can go any faster, On Speakeasy's speed test it shows my download is 5000 kbps and my upload is 380. If i got this right, shouldnt my downloads go 625 KB/s?

if you max out your connection i beleive you can go at 550 KB/s but i also think that due to the slowish uplaod speed, the max you can reach is 300 K/s. I know that after my ISP blocked my upload my speeds dropped to 600/700 KB/s from their regular 1000 KB/s, which sucks but there is nothing we can do about it unfortunately.

amakusa,
I recommend using Utorretn 1.6 ;)

well i have had around 450, but it was only on one torrent one time, ive never really tried private trackers since i dont have any invites, but do you think that would make a big difference?

Yes! If u were using a private tracker and downloading only 1 torrent at a time (which i recommend) you should regularly hit 350-400 KB/s.
