I know this site doesent allow you to trade invites, but do you know any sites that do, or any private trackers that are availible for registration.

Oh, im registered at demonoid (thats where im getting the 200 kb/s) but i though maybe other sites with invites would go even faster. So you know any forums where i could ask for invites?
Thanks -Socom

guinnys,
youre not doing too bad, your max speed for torrents is only 100 Kb/s or so.

yes it should be at 60 KB/s im assuming due to the slow upload speed. are u having problems with any of the steps in my guide besides port forwarding?

No everything is good, i was talking to my ISP provider (clearwire)today and he was explaining to me the difference between a Modem (which i have) and a Router... do you think if i buy a router and portfoward it i can get a faster speed? Modem to Router to Computer.

I doubt it, i have found that my router slows down my internet, it is like a splitter for your internet, it shouldnt make it any faster.

you guys are reading it wrong, i have 1.4 MEGABYTE connection which is the same as an 11.0 MEGABIT connection. OG, you have a 2.2 MEGABIT connection, therefore my connection is 5x as fast as yours.

DVDBack23 do you think a router will help my speed?

No, when you say that it sounds like "Should I get a router so that I can port forward for faster downloads?" The thing is, if you don't have a router, you can say you're pretty much the same off as someone WITH a router who has port forwared, because nothing is blocked. Therefore you can already reach your speed cap. Just download a file with a lot of peers, but more seeders or equal amount of seeders to peers. Just make sure you set your max dl speed / 8 and max upload speed * 8 * .8 or 80% of your max upload. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, DVD, how much USD do you pay monthly for the 10mbps and what ISP? I'm looking into getting 6mbps or more as soon as it's available in my area.

Ahhh, that's the exact same internet as my cousin who lives in NJ, or somewhere near the border towards NYC.

You know I've been reading this thread and trying some of your suggestions and I have been reading this one as well http://www.utorrent.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3912 which breaks down the mathematics of it all quite well... but I still can't help but feel throttled when seeding a 4gig file takes longer than a week.... Somebody please tell me if this sounds right.. I have pretty much a constant upload rate of about 30kB/s (in Utorrent) but when I run a speed test (I used buytelco) My actual bandwidth is 262.4 KiloBits/Sec upload and a download rate of 2857.8 KiloBits/Sec... should I not be hitting higher than that???

262 divided by 8 is 32 so your speed sounds about right, and your max download speed should be around 80-90 if youre lucky 100 or something like that right.

You got it... unless of course its a Linux distro like someone mentioned in another post I read.. hell I can hit almost 300 with them.. don't we wish it was all that good?? but anyway.. thats good to hear.. I have not torrented long.. but I'm insainly addicted now... just trying to learn all I can.. The reason I was asking wasn't really for my download speeds... they have been pretty good for the most part... just trying to maximize my seeding potential so I too can get pissed when someone runs off with my week and half worth of seeding effort...

Are you using a private tracker? Do you have a router? How fast is your upload speed?

Does the place of the server you use matter? It also said my upload speed was around 70... but on utorrent i max upload at around 30 kbs. I have 4 mb so is this good or bad cos i havnt got a clue? I dont think i have a router and i am not using a private tracker
