@crockman7- that error you are getting usually means something is wrong with the iso itself-it has something to do with a failed module load in the game...Try getting a different iso-but if it works on a different PSP, and not yours-you may want to try restoring your default settings from the PSP menu-you may have to reset your clock, and internet settings, but I have found that works if you have tried everything else to no avail.
@drakex-try getting your 3.40OE from qj.net, or psp-hacks

Got it from the forums here, same place dvaesedum told me, anyways this are for 2 friends, so I already said I am not responsible if they get bricked.... so warning has been issued :P

i have installed the 3.40 oe-a and checked for all the items mentioned to make sure they were disabled and they were. however when i loaded an iso onto the memory card (metal slug anthology :) and went to the memory file in the game section it showed a picture of the game and even played the intro music yet when i pushed x it ended up going to a black screen and i eventually have to take out the battery to turn it off. it should not be a bad iso because i have tried four or five others and they do the same. and the memory card is in fact a legit magicgate. let me know what ya'll think

Tell your friends that I used it and it worked fine. For as long as they use a legit mem stick like the stock 32 meg.
Tell them to format their cards from their PSP, and restore their settings to default from the PSP. Also, tell them to read stuff about it, and to get familiar with the DXAR manual creation, and how this installer does that for them. Tell them to inform about it for at least a week, and that they are familiar enough with PSP modifications, because if they brick it, it will be their own fault, and you have done enough by just telling them this.

1st of all, is this a rom or something?: Is it an original PSP game?
Also, I think you did not mention, but do you have a UMD game in your slot? Also, are all 3 options disabled in advanced, and the no UMD in config?

EVERYBODY! I FORGOT TO ADD THAT YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR GAME HOMEBREW FOLDER TO 1.50 KERNEL WHICH IS IN CONFIGURATIONS IN THE RECOVERY MODE

Also, here is another tut I have bookmarked. It has pictures of the recovery mode, and what all options should look like, for example this picture:
That is a pic of the configurations
One thing that is not mentioned in that tut is that you should disable the 3 options in advanced configuration.
Also, in that tut, you can learn how to make CSO and ISO if your game is not in that format. You can also compress isos

what CPU speed are you guys running at? i tried restoring default settings, no go. ive tried the games burnout dominator, surfs up, diner dash, and transformers. transformers is the only game that has worked everything else just gets the error

yeah, I am having no luck at all with this. LCS just freezes and just doesnt work at all. I have a umd, followed the tut and still nothing. Maybe after compressing it GTA screws up? I have no clue.

Yup some games dont work pretty much compressed, so is better to leave them as ISOs.-

i do have a umd in it when i don't it says it can not read game when i do it goes to a black screen on the issue of disabling i disabled all 6 items you mentioned and on the kernal i have it on 1.5 i also moved my cpu speed up to 366. the games are said to be complete umd copies put in an iso format. if it is the games is there anyway you could give me a link to one that you know works for sure

And kernel should not be in 1.5 it should be in your latest FW, 3.40 if you want to play games from the ISO folder.

@crockman & Kingbling-
Have you guys tried these iso's on a different machine so that you are positive they work? Also, how are your memory cards? Are they genuine? or Fake? Because it seems that if you have followed all of the steps in this tutorial, you should be playing games right now. Might want to look into your iso situation-and check those memory sticks..
Another option for you is to run the 1.5 recovery and then reflash your custom FW...It just seems really odd to me that you cannot get any games to work at all.
Also, I have my kernel set at 1.50 all the time-and the clockspeed at 300mhz-and all of my games work fine. The kernel settings are more for your homebrew apps and emulators anyway-so unless you are heavy into homebrew, it doesnt matter what your kernel is set to.
@valyrike-you need to use a converter to create an ISO from your data.bin-it probably would have been better for you to either search first, or start a new thread on that topic rather than hijack this one...

my cpu actually does have an option to go up to 400 strange i know because my friends only goes to 333. do you think that might be too fast then for the umd to play and what setting do any of you recommend me putting it on. what i cant figure out is why i have to take the battery out to turn it off when i try to play an iso with a umd it is like it wants to but is missing something could it be considered bricked and still be able to come on after i take the battery out
