thats strange that you have the option to set your clockspeed at 400MHZ-thats not right...The processor in the PSP is only good for 333MHZ total-Not sure how you got your settings like that, is your PSP a Japanese model? In any event, you should work with either 266, or 300MHZ for games to run properly. If you have it at 333 all the time, it will drain your battery faster.

The PSP gets real hot at 333MHz and drains the batery in 1.5 hours. 400 mhz is either a fake showing, or your PSP is really really weird.

Guys, I do not know what else to tell you to try. This are all the options I know.

Must... Learn..... How to copy them..... Ughhhh! I died

you are not supposed to extract the iso, just put the iso in the ISO folder at the root of your memory stick

THE DEVHOOK IS TO USE ON A 1.5 BUT THANKS TO DARK ALEX WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO MESS WITH ANY OF THAT JUST STICK IT IN THE CORRESPONDING FOLDER.

OH AND BY THE WAY MY MISTAKE ENDED UP BEING THAT IT WAS SHOWING AS AN ISO BUT WAS ACTUALLY IN A .BIN FORMAT I KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN MY NOOBISH SOUNDING QUESTIONS AND WITH THAT 400 CPU SPEED I REALLY DON'T ABOUT THAT SO I WILL KEEP IT DOWN JUST IN CASE IT SCREWS ANYTHING UP.

@crockman7- I just put my iso's in the ISO folder-theres no need for devhook or any other loader when you are using custom firmware-Have you had any luck with your games at all?

@lodi80-that is the iso itself, if you are using WinRAR-just go into the options, then settings, and find the file association tab(or file integration) and uncheck ISO-WinRAR should not associated with iso's. Otherwise you need to use UMDgen to create an iso from those two folders.

I downloaded Pirates of the Caribbean, Fast and the Furious and Burnout Dominator, it was an ISO

I change everything on the recovery, 3.40 kernel, I tried with that, and disabled NO-UMD, then I tried the same thing with 1.50 kernel and it wont work. Advanced options all 3 disabled, region and UMD fake cde disabled, cpu speed disabled

The game does start, I can see the games on my memory card, and heard the music (just with Pirates of the Caribbean)but it shows me a blank screen went I tried to run the game.

Note that I have 3.40 OE-A

What should I do? I really want to play this game.

Thank you for your help

that is what was happening to mine it would show something there and when time to load it would freeze up on me till i actually took the battery out and turn it back on. the only thing i could figure with the ones that were actual isos, were they were bad copies either poorly made or missing something, etc. and as wierd as mine might be you disabling the cpu speed would be like having the psp turned off i think you might be meaning it is set on default.

sometimes when you download isos, they have stuff ripped from them, such as the update, music, and movies in the game

@viviricky-you probably just want to find different iso's-I know the filesize for pirates @ worlds end is about 1.2GB, and thats the whole game-like the other guy said you are probably getting rips that are incomplete. Because I have those same games, and they work fine for me, and I am also on 3.40OE-

Just a side note for you other guys that are having troubles-
In my configuration (in the recovery console) I have everything disabled, and have 1.50 kernel for my homebrew-same with the advanced configuration-all disabled. I have my CPU speed set at 300MHZ for both options.

Give that a try-also again check your memory stick to make sure its not a fake one, because that causes those problems as well.

I usally get mine from scrapetorrent-just make sure when you do download, its better to have a higher amount of seeders than leechers-that way it doesnt take forever to download.

i go to a place called pspiso, you have to register, but it is free

then go here, they have a massive amount of psp games.

you are going to need umdgen to convert the csos to isos

well, i'm new at this forum and psp, and got two questions buggin me out.

which original umd you guys thinks it's the most effective for running iso's?! and which format is better to load, cso or iso?! some say it's cso, others iso...

@kingbling-If you are having troubles with just the cso's-you could use UMDgen to uncompress them and put them back to iso..

@zackwire-First off, welcome to the community- As far as what UMD you use to load your iso's-it doesnt matter, as long as its a game, and not a movie..It can even be the demo disk that comes with the PSP-
ISO/CSO??-It depends on the game...Some games work ok when they are compressed, others dont..I prefer cso, because you can get more games on your memory stick as they are compressed. However, you run into more problems with cso's (especially ones from the internets), like game lag, problems starting the game, etc..What I do, is take my iso that I know is in good shape, and compress it myself using UMDgen-
Hope this helps for you....
Good Luck

oh, thanks mate!

great, i've bought a used umd of GTALCS for a cheap prize. and i share your opinion...cso are great for memory space saving. can't wait to get to home and do a little testing!

ehr, one more thing...the tut says to change de game folder homebrew to 1.50 kernel, but i still put my iso/csos under the iso folder?! some other forums mentioned other folders inside psp folder to 1.50 kernel to work.

well, i couldnt get some consistent answers there, so... :P

In fact what you should do first, is format your memory stick from the psp menu-so it creates the correct folders for you. After that you drop your iso/cso's into the ISO folder in the root of your memory stick. Dont worry about the kernel unless you are into homebrew..most homebrew apps/games, etc..would go into the GAME150 folder..But for iso games, you dont need to change it...it can be either..I have mine set at 1.50--but I also have emulators, and homebrew apps that I use...

@Kclassic-well lets hope it doesnt have to come to that where you need to take a bullet-for the most part, the forums are pretty friendly...Good to hear you got your problems solved.

@crockman- I am assuming your UMD drive worked ok prior to upgrading? Can you hear it spin at all when you have a UMD in the slot? Does the icon show up in the menu when you have a UMD inserted? - A couple things to check is your Parental Setting in the security submenu of the settings menu..Make sure its off..Also check the UMD autostart in the system settings and make sure thats off...I would also try restoring your default settings if the other options dont work for you..Otherwise you may have a bad drive, and will need repair.

@Scoobybn-You need a client such as Utorrent to download your files (iso's) When you go to those torrent sites, such as mininova, scrapetorrent, torrentspy, etc..You are just downloading the file information which the program (utorrent)then uses to gather the actual file from other users that are sharing the file. There are several places to get games-One I use is isohunt, because it is a search engine for all the other torrent sites..But you need a program to actually download the iso's-
Yes, in most cases you need to have a game UMD inserted for iso games to work off of your memstick. And it doesnt matter the game, as long as its not a UMD movie...
