That's weird, I didn't even do that. I always downloaded dvds. I opened a new account to ask for a reason, and how to avoid being banned in the future. As a reply, they banned my new account too. LOL. At least they're consistent.

On the things you were downloading, did you download just the sample in some cases or maybe start the download of something and then stop half way through? I am only guessing here but I think if you download just a part of something and it shows up on their reports it could be misconstrued as someone cheating and getting the torrent elsewhere and finishing it up on their site. I think a lot of people do this and you will see the exact same torrents on two sites sometimes being shared. I think if you are a member of one site, they really would prefer you not be a member of another and if so, better not download from one to give to another. I tried what you did, set up another account to find out why I got booted because I also thought I did nothing wrong and when they found out it was me got booted right away. My mistake was not reading the rules completely. They don't have the time to check all the facts out. I think their could be a lot more people cheating then not so in this case the innocent get lumped in with everyone. In a way I can understand the logic. If you get on or are on another site now, just follow the rules and you should not have a problem. Whenever I start downloading, whether I decide or not to keep it, I download it until complete and make sure I share it with all until I am at least at a one to one ratio or try to get to that ratio. In most cases I find I was happy I downloaded the whole thing because after having it I used it. Issue is ratio and sharing. Sometimes because 100 people have the completed torrent and are sharing and no one is snatching it, your ratio never gets better with it. I try to make sure when I start something that everyone is snatching at that time, I share that torrent sometimes to a 4 to 1 or higher ratio. It makes up for the others. I think the Admin. people on the site understand this. Again just follow the rules and if you have a question, just ask them before you do it if you can't find it in the FAQ's. Most if not all the admin. people are really great and want to help. Good luck.

Thanks. Actually, I completed every download too. It will always be a mystery... I hope it doesn't happen at other sites, otherwise I really have to find out what went wrong.

well you guys must of done something wrong to get baned, that your not telling us here, i meen when you gave them money, so something is rotten in denmark, and you say you got no warning at all on anything that you have done! any chance did you read the rules of the site? i signed up at the site and downloaded a torent and kept seeding it till i got a good ratio, the site is all right not a very big selection as far as stuff, but allright, and i have not given any money.

I am another who have the same problem... WTF? I dont understood yet. I sent them email too but still any answer. I just tried connect to the ILT right now over the proxy server and its work. But its sucks over proxy for me:-(
EDIT: moreover, I cant activate my new account over the proxyserver... I am totally pissed off! and IMHO too many people have the same problem and I think this is not problem with rules.

I agree with rdmercer1. In that you probably did something wrong and maybe did not realize it. I can vouch for the giving of a donation and still getting booted if you make a mistake. I just didn't read the rules correctly. I think the Admins of the site watch out for a lot of [b]intentional cheating going on and the system is set up that even if you make a mistake not on purpose, they don't have time to check on whether your a "good guy" so you get the boot. If you follow the rules and read them twice and watch for updates on the rules, you should not have a problem.

I just got booted there too, with no warning, no explanation, no way to contact them, and no recourse. I've been there a year and had a high ratio, and have always followed the rules. Reading this thread, I probably did the same thing Amadauss did. But I checked, and as far as I can find, partial downloading is NOT against any posted site rules (which are many, btw).
The amazing thing is, downloading a few files of a torrent was recommended by an admin in the ILoveTorrents forum as a way to get your ratio up! And so now they are banning people without warning or recourse for it? Seems a bit heavy-handed to me. (Besides, what exactly are the Sample clips for, if not to download first to preview and see if you want the whole thing?)
It's not surprising though. Sadly, it would seem that ILoveTorrents is run by a bunch of control freaks who get off by exercising their "power" capriciously. No matter; there's plenty of other torrent sites with better content that aren't run by Nazi wannabes.

sbt44 i highley doubt that you got booted for downloading samples of the torrents, and who ever told you that downloading part's of a torrents will raise your ratio lied to you, thats the same as hit and run, i have there almost three months, and have a 5.660 ratio, never had any problems with them at all. there is always a reason why things happen, and we probley arn't geting the whole story here like the rest of the cheese and crackers anyone?

Hey i too was a member of ILT and they also banned me..But before that i got an email warning me about some timer or something that could track them back or something like that..they wanted all those that had them to turn them off or remove..and u had certain amount of time to do it or u will be cut off there site.i never know what they meant by that..but i did know what they where saying about cutting u off for sure

that must have been what happened to the rest of us, since I'm not cynical, and I don't live by House's rule "everybody lies" :)
call me a softie.
There are probably tons of things that can go wrong, and they have a good reason to be impatient with newbies. I think in my case it might have to do with the fact that my internet connection was unreliable at the time, and I had to re-open the torrents several times a day. This should not be a problem one would say, but it's the only thing out of the ordinary I can think of. Always downloaded torrents completely and seeded back every torrent at least 200%.

Hasnt been said here yet but you have to park your account if you dont plan on accessing it in the next 30 days. A lot of people lose their membership that way. Not sure if it applies here, just mentioning.

I am now getting this error, no warnings not reasons, if you attempt to mail the forbidden email address it comes back saying mail box does not exisit.
I am a power user with a good ratio I use the site everyday and seed all the time, this is a really crappy way of treating good seeders.
If someone is a member could they check my account info to see if its banned or something I really don't know what their issue is?!!

it would be hard to check your status with your user name and password because they check your name with your ip address! also the site is not all that good, there are plenty of sites that have much more torrents!

well I'm giving up. i try all the torrent out there and there all full.i was a good member at ILT been with them for yrs and it hurts me ..that there not that many ppl that like to share and help those that are always doing good.well i will keep trying.some day i will find a new torrent home to start all over and get comfortable all over again

Well yesterday I tried to get onto ILT site, and said it was FORBIDDEN - and to e-mail forbidden (at) ilt.com site - which resulted in a returned message since the box was not real.
My ISP recently changed (last month), so I thought maybe something was wrong with my ISP - so I went to the site through another ISP, and signed on with a message saying "This account has been disabled."
Plus reading everything I can, there is NO WAY to contact the site without being signed on to the site, and making a second account would be breaking the rules.... so I guess I'm just screwed.
I don't believe I have ever broken any rules. I have donated money in the past, my ration was just around 1:1, I always download full things, plus was recently seeding a 4+ gig file to 4x to help my ratio.
You know if I did something wrong, then I would understand being banned - but I did nothing, and there is no way for me to find out what I did wrong or why I was banned. I was looking for contact information when I found this thread, and now I'm starting to think that I should just save myself some time and give up on ILT now. Sad, it's been such a nice site up until now.
