It would seem I have joined the ranks of banned members.
I had a ration well over 2:1 and always seeded to at least a 1:1 on every download.
Now I'm banned for no obvious reson and have no way of contacting them from this PC to get an explanation.
This just makes no *bleep* sense. ILT has never reached it's server capacity and is always looking for new members and yet the juvinile *bleep* running it apparently are a little ban-happy.
I used to view the site from work to see if there would be anything to download when I got home, but I only ever downloaded from one IP...
After all the time spent maintaining a great ratio only to get the boot for no apparent reason, I genuinly hope the families of these people die horrible suffering deaths while the mods have to watch helpless... just to make me feel better.

MY guess is that ILT is just clearing any accounts that are a certain age and have not donated to the site, despite good ratios.

Good thinking, BUT... I was only a member for a month or so. And all the other suggestions mentioned on this forum before (bad ratio, cheating, downloading only parts, other trackers, etc.) don't apply to me either. So they probably did get "ban-happy".
But it doesn't matter. There's other sites, and all the effort of keeping a good ratio isn't wasted, because other users benefited from that.

Hi there,
I was just banned on Ilovetorrents a few days ago and I have no idea why. The site says it is forbidden. I donated less than 3 months ago and my ratio was 1.8+ ... moderator or admin, can you please check and email me at *removed*.
My username was chosen80... the email address was different as I recently moved cities!
Please help!

Don't like your chances, I am sure there are a few mods that read these pages but telling people why they have been banned from ILT seems alittle beyond them. Current members keep in mind that if you donate this doesnt cover you from being randomly banned

how many of you that say you were banned on ILT was using an allowed client?
I have recently joined, and was not, but I read in a forum on there that you could use a client that was not on the allowed list, but at your own risk.
this is the quote copied and pasted
Quote:
they can use clients that are not on the allowed list, but at their own risk, we know our allowed clients report to the tracker correctly, so if a non allowed client reports falsely to the tracker the user could lose ratio or even find themselves banned.
Iam now using a client from their allowed list.
It is their site, their rules. I have only been there 3 months, but I have had some great download speeds for a small to middle size site, and is much easier to seed back than some of the bigger sites.
EDIT.
I have just read a thread from TaaDow2, hear it is
Quote:
Hello ILT
I am one royaly pissed off FORMER ILT member.
For no reason at all, my account has recently been disabled and for a period my IP was even banned from this site. I had to create this account just to post this, though I'm sure the mods will delete it before many get to read since it's not all happy and ILT promoting.
I had maintained a ratio of well over 2:1 after sharing over 200 gigs of data. But apparently the children running this site like to hand out random bans. I've noticed on several open forum sites that this is actually quite common on ILT. I never went against any of the server rules, unless uTorrent has been removed from allowed software... And hiding behind a blocked website, with no way to contact admins, only further proves that this is a group of small scared children.
So I refuse to go to the back of the line after 3 years of loyalty, I will not go back to waiting 24 hours for new releases, I will not attempt to rebuild a quality ratio... and maybe I'll even try to leach a few files before you ban this account 2.
I could ALMOST understand removing non-paying accounts to make room for those paying if your subscriptions were full, but you aren't there and crap like this will not help you gain members.
So please continue what you're doing and soon ILT will fade into oblivion as you ban your quality members and are left with the crap that doesn't realize how many better torrent sites are out there... If anyone does read this and doubts what I'm saying or thinks I'm just one guy... google "ilovetorrents" and after the main site, the remaining links are all to various forums where people complain about this same thing. I haven't seen that for any other torrent site I belong to.
So a big FUCK YOU, right back at ya ILT...
it says So I refuse to go to the back of the line after 3 years of loyalty
I have found the TaaDow account, but is only 18weeks old, and the ratio is Uploaded 28.98 GB
Downloaded 16.35 GB
not quite the stats this user reported above.
Its one thing having a go at a site when you know you are in the right, but to slag them off on a lie?
sorry, you most likey deserved the ban.

I wrote the TaaDow2 post...
if that's what my account now shows then that's yet another error. I joined ILT roughly 3 years ago and I did have over 200 gigs shared, but this doesn't surprise me. I wouldn't have had reason to lie about it since obviously the moderators could check... wouldn't surprise me if they changed it to discredit the name.
As for my client.. I was using the latest uTorrent which I believe was allowed under their rule set.
I won't be going back and I've found various other sites that I actually now prefer as they don't have the 24hr delays for new users and they seem to get the new files faster then ILT was. That and ILT was becoming more and more about porn files and less about quality software, movies and music.
That post I made was deleted within an hour and that account was removed and banned, and yet still ILT has never responded so if they can't respond then obviously they're just playing games... I feel sorry for those that have and will donate money to them.
I recommend araditracker.com for anyone looking for a new torrent site, it's been great.

My ISP recently changed (last month), so I thought maybe something was wrong with my ISP - so I went to the site through another ISP, and signed on with a message saying "This account has been disabled."
Plus reading everything I can, there is NO WAY to contact the site without being signed on to the site, and making a second account would be breaking the rules.... so I guess I'm just screwed.
I don't believe I have ever broken any rules. I have donated money in the past, my ration was just around 1:1, I always download full things, plus was recently seeding a 4+ gig file to 4x to help my ratio.
You know if I did something wrong, then I would understand being banned - but I did nothing, and there is no way for me to find out what I did wrong or why I was banned. I was looking for contact information when I found this thread, and now I'm starting to think that I should just save myself some time and give up on ILT now. Sad, it's been such a nice site up until now.

Well I agree about what you said about TL but to say Blackcats sucks is way out of line. Stoli runs a fair anti Hit and run seed point system, many users have seedboxes which allows people to get max DL speed and there are many smart people that live in the forums willing to help 24/7.

So does this just become an advertising thread for more private trackers now?
I was a member of this shoddy site some 3 years ago also. I probably still have an account if it hasn't been deleted for no "donation" or inactivity. I can't remember the password.. I don't like ratio nazi sites anyways. As long as you try to keep it at or around 1:1 what does it matter anyways? I even try to apply that on public trackers.. it's only fair. If you want to give sites your money that's your business.. but make sure it's because you want to, and not because they are using any form of coercion.
Any site that is behaving like this deserves all the bad press they get. There are far superior private sites out there who never ever ask for anything but participation and abiding by the rules. Find and join a few of those.. or use the public trackers and proper ip shields.

I have just been informed of this thread, and it is laughable.
All but one of the complainants of being banned, was banned for uploading faster than your connection speed, and not just over, or just for a couple of seconds. the other 1, your account is still there and ip not banned, you just have not logged in for 5 weeks.
We do not ban members on a whim, re: coanjunk, you were given over 1TB in upload credits for donating, but still had a ratio under 1:1. We could have banned you multiple times for hit and running, but no, we only banned when you uploaded at twice the speed your ISP is capable of.
TaaDow, you make me laugh, good luck to your new site.
If we ban for ratio, we only ban if downloaded over 10GB with a ratio of under 0.3 and 4 or more warnings (and even then, we will not ban if we see you are trying to raise your ratio)
We do ask for donations about once a month, (as do a lot of other site)but you will not find any pop ups or advertizements on the site.
Finaly, our scrictest rule is no cheating, no matter how many millions you have donated, you will be banned, it is easy to say on an open forum I have not cheated, but when staff can see in black and white, how fast for how long and on what ip address, I know which I would believe, and that is on any site.

First of all, how about telling people you have banned why in case your "black and white" isnt quite on the ball.
My account "mikejh" was never under ratio, as for uploading quicker your connection speed, how is that even possible? I have 1 meg upload and wouldn't have a clue how to make anything quicker then that, I am a member of two other torrent sites that have never had an issue with my uploads.
Your mods could atleast make the effort of talking to people before they ban them with no way of replying
