We do not ban members on a whim, re: coanjunk, you were given over 1TB in upload credits for donating, but still had a ratio under 1:1. We could have banned you multiple times for hit and running, but no, we only banned when you uploaded at twice the speed your ISP is capable of.
TaaDow, you make me laugh, good luck to your new site.
If we ban for ratio, we only ban if downloaded over 10GB with a ratio of under 0.3 and 4 or more warnings (and even then, we will not ban if we see you are trying to raise your ratio)
We do ask for donations about once a month, (as do a lot of other site)but you will not find any pop ups or advertizements on the site.
Finaly, our scrictest rule is no cheating, no matter how many millions you have donated, you will be banned, it is easy to say on an open forum I have not cheated, but when staff can see in black and white, how fast for how long and on what ip address, I know which I would believe, and that is on any site.
my ratio is over 7 and have been downloading there for a good while
yesterday i was asked to downgrade to utorrent 1.6 and i did
i came in this morning and i also am seeing the forbidden page
my s/n over there is spaceace35

please can you tell me why i was banned,i really love the site,i was good user, with good ratio atd..
the ban.me wthout warning for what reason????
Yeah, for me I just got banned for "cheating" as well. I was a user for a few months and built up like 80 gigs of uploads, though I never donated. I started using it at work because the connection speed is so much faster. This is probably why they thought I was cheating. I tried to explain the situation on IRC and I was banned from the channel. I tried PMing them about it on a new account, but instead of helping me out they banned my IP. It is kind of ridiculous that you can't contact them to help fix their mistake.

I wonder how many torrent sites out there will say hey hold on old chap, you are cheating, how can we get you to stop.
I don't think they do, they just ban, no warning, no explanation.
Most sites probably these days employ sophisticated scripts to detect and auto ban accounts that show abnormal uploading speeds.
Most sites (including the forums we are on), says break our rules, and you can be banned, just make sure whatever site you are a member of, know their rules, or don't complain if you get kicked off.
I wonder how many members gets banned each day on all these sites that are around at the moment, justly or not. If everyone complained on forums, I dont think there would be room for anything else.
If you are banned from 1 site, just move on to another, there are plenty out there. There is no point ranting, on here, it wont get you back in.
If this post is disjointed, sorry, at this moment, I am still 6 time zones away from where my fingers are.

mikejh25 all the people have to do is read the rules and follow them verry simple and verry easy, that happens with the private tracker sites, and the people coming to this site and wineing about being banned, makes no cents. once you are banned from the sit there is no way to get back to the site, at least most of the times.

Well, rdmercer the fact of the matter is that when the rules are followed and the advice of the sysop on raising your ratio are followed to the letter at ilovetorrents.com, users with good ratios that they've been sustaining for years are getting banned w/o warning or even a reason. So, know your facts before you go spewing off. People have better things to do than simply whine about being banned. These were good members, myself included, who genuinely want to know what kind of corruption is going on at the site that they've been loyal to for years. Why do you feel the need to keep publicly defending ILT's sysops? It's almost like you have a personal stake in the amount of attention given to this topic.

crimghost face it you got banned for a reason and they don't have to tell you, so get over it, do you want some cheese and crackers with that wine, also if you want some sort of answers to your banning ask this person. ILTstaff this person says that they are staff member, so maby they will tell you, just pm that user here, in this forum thread. good luck, also i don't have nothing to lose, yes i have used the site, and i have a good ratio, but if i got banned i would not be comming in to a forum that has nothing to do with that site and start crying that i got banned!!!

who's crying? i'm just suspicious of people who act eradically. A site i care about may have been attacked and taken over by malicious hackers stealing accounts with good ratios. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened. Or maybe one of the admins has gone rogue. Wouldn't be the first instance of something like that happening either. Or maybe the admin just simply thinks it's too hard for new users to build a ratio now that so many of us long time members have a ratio that's easily maintainable.
You seem to be losing your temper. don't hurt yourself. Also you're repeating yourself now. come up with something a little less cliche and more original than spelling "whine" incorrectly in your "cheesy" little pun.
edit: btw, I don't don't believe for a second that ILTStaff is actually who he says he/she is. If their staff is lame enough to post that they are staff of that site on a public forum. Then I don't want to be a member of such an unsecure %$#@hole of a torrent site anyway. They'll get themselves pinched soon enough between the controversy that they're bringing on themselves and the degree of newb no-brainer moves like spouting off here arguing with loyal ex-members who uploaded countless amounts to improve they're site's standard of speed, and bragging rights. Don't turn your back on them if you're still a member. They don't hesitate to stab. enjoy! :)

Here you go. So now you can either shoot it down or call me a liar, right? (shrugs, nothing new)
Ratio: 1.623 Uploaded: 494.52 GB Downloaded: 304.61 GB
I wasn't in any competitions for a world record but that was respectable IMO, considering this wasn't the only site I was a member at either. First one I've ever been banned from though. Quite ill deserved, and a BS flex move on their part I still maintain.
So, you really think everybody here just up and decided to post about ILT banning them when they all full well deserved it? I've never seen cheaters put together such an effort to feign bewilderment over the fact that they've been banned from a site, all within the past few months. We're all play acting just for your entertainment? To what end other than to try to bring attention to the fact that the situation at that site is simply f@#$ed lately. I contacted the sysops though my own means who I have half a mind to name but won't, about the reason I was banned. I stated my case honestly and got no response. I'm done with trying to get my ratio and account back. I quite frankly still want a reason.
From my perspective honestly, I didn't thank with words much. I showed thanks through sharing back as much as I could, and that's no lie. There's something to be said for having a low profile on these sites. At the time that I was banned I was using utorrent 1.7.7 which I didn't know was illegal by their rules or I'd have gladly downgraded to 1.6.whatever primitive crash happy version they wanted me to. Had they had the courtesy to send their members a PM or post a message on the mainpage which I always read at all my sites. This would have been nice for a change instead of the constant begging for donations to keep a tracker running that was not only not all that fast but apparently these morons playing god are banning VIP's w/o reason too. Really honorable guys. Do not assume a donation will keep you safe from these sh1t-tyrants. I'm glad I never did :D. They'd have you reread the rules daily before downloading any torrents. Who needs ya?
The only other possibility is that I was helping to seed a movie that I'd gotten from another site, and before you go calling that cheating like that fake (or extremely ignorant) ILTStaff member here check the forums there, and look for a tutorial on how to raise you ratio written by one of the sysops.
I've been as honest as I can about what I may have done, and really only want to know what else it could have been. Really though, why would we all just spontaneously decide to come here over the past few months to rant about the site unless something actually was up? I honestly believe that they are too lame, lazy or both to write a script that actually catches cheaters properly, and bans at random instead. At least that's the most likely case scenario. Either way I'm about done giving a damn and some other poor soul will pick up where I left off, and on and on until their rinky dink operation gets shut down.
The sysops say the rules are to keep users safe but banning long time members (and I was a member there at the very least 3 years) will earn you some off site attention around the web. Any publicity is not good publicity for a site like ILT. "It's true you reap what you sow"

i used blackcats-games.net up until a few hours ago when i got the 403 forbidden. Unauthorized IP Address. Error.
Heres my story: I just forwarded some ports for FTP and VPN and was wondering if that could have done anythign? I've been able to use the site just fine until a few hours ago.
Any help would be great. This happened once before but i don't remember what the remedy was.

I'm glad I came across this thread..I was feeling bad , Like I had done something wrong?
I tried to log onto ilovetorrents 4 days ago and got the "error 403 "
I had been a member over at ' ilovetorrents ' for almost two years. Good raio (1.8).. Never any kind of warnings And even uploaded stuff lately..
So I logged onto " irc " to talk to one of the mods over there and ask him " Could you please check into why I was Banned from ilovetorrents? " He said ' sure what was my user name' so i told him and he came back a few moments later and blurted out ' You've been caught cheating! find somewhere to do your torrenting! "
I mean what the ****? I never cheated or anything..I was always considerate and played well with most everyone...That is so much crapola

A lot of going back and forth about why. I did the same thing when booted but realized why after reading the rules and seeing what I did wrong. Shame on me for not reading them correctly when I joined. I have since been on a site for a while now and no issues at all and everyone there is fantastic. Look at it this way, anything you do, job, banking, credit cards, mortgage, marriage, etc. you have rules. They are there for a reason. Follow the rules and you have no problems and everyone is happy. Have to remember, when you get booted, its nothing personal, somehow, without knowing (probably because you didn't read the rules) you broke the rules. Guy who had his speeds double because of using pc at work was an honest mistake but I am guessing should have created a new account for that computer and if ratios were good, probably would still be on today. The admins do not have time to write to all telling them what to do. Big word here is FORUMS. Rules are there. Learn from it and you will have no issues.

Yeah..But If Ive been a member for 2 years and never even 1 warning...Shouldn't they have the courtesy to at least warn you?
@rdmercer1 ..what are you blubbering about? Are you saying I was cheating...You dont know if I was or not..Unless you are a mod over at ilovetorrents
I am very torrent savvy by the way..No way I was cheating..I'm a member of 4 different private trackers and never had a problem

I understand your issue with the "no warning". I also did not receive one and was very upset this could happen. But like I said, its not personal. The server prints up what is going on and more a machine then person giving you the boot. Really is not personal. I think if you follow the rules, and I always now think about what I am going to do before doing it, nothing will ever happen and everything will be fine. Good luck.

batman30: You probably didn't cheat at all. I personally doubt that the "mod" you spoke to actually checked anything. He more than likely just waited a few minutes and gave you the generic "you cheated" Probably didn't even explain how you were cheating did he? It really is a shame when it becomes obvious that a site like ILT is obviously exploiting their uploaders kindness for mere financial gain. There hasn't been an improvement to that site in years. They're still using the slightly modified source from torrentbits. They're too lazy to even notify their contributing members with years of loyalty of rule changes and far too lame to setup autoban rules properly or to even check that they are being properly executed.
Some people are relentless fanboy's when it come's to ILT.
Amadauss, how is it that you read the rules after you were banned and saw the err of your ways supposedly? Key words being "after you were banned". And why do you claim that the admin's don't have time to c/p something that must be posted already in the rules to the front page. You would think they had at least the consideration to post rules in the rules section before implementing them. They can certainly beg for money multiple times per month in a mass PM as well as post messages on the front page about how much upload credit you can buy per month easily enough. Though I have no idea what use that is considering their nonsense rules don't allow for leeching with an overall ratio above 1:1. After years of being a member things should be more personal. You shouldn't be banned by a machine. Your ratio above 1:1 should count for something. And yes they should have had the courtesy to warn you. They don't have to but they most definitely should have.
I'm just pointing out inconsistencies with your previous statements though. It really is nothing personal.
The bigger picture here that they want new members who can be tricked into contributing either monetarily or though uploads. What they don't want you to know is that every member slot that opens is a potential security threat to the site and you as members. If that site were ever to get busted they'd sell every member down the river to save their own souls. That's how they appear to do business when bans are left up to some poor half-assed coding on a machine that they script kiddie style c/ped from elsewhere, and doesn't even match the rules posted on the site upon which they're implemented.
I did say others would post here if the lameness on that site continued... You haven't seen the last of bad press for ILT. Way to secure the site guys!

crimghost, what a load of c**p you have not the slightest idea what you are talking about, if you have proof of anything, either piss or get off the pot, so you got banned from a torrent site, big deal.
If you were an intelligent adult, you would have moved on by now, but that does not seem the case.
Yes,I am a member of ilovetorrents, I have even donated twice now, they have over 45000 members last time I asked, and have been going over 3 years, if they were as bad as you make out, they would not be getting new members with all the so called bad press.(by a few ex members with a gripe)
My old gran used to say "its always the guilty that protests the loudest and longest".
keep on shouting.
