If you want to autoburn with Imgburn then you will need to select ISO image file and burn with Imgburn/DVD Decrypter. If you want to autoburn with Nero you select your drive as the target. Imgburn will burn VIDEO_TS folders as well, but you will need to manually burn these files in 'build' mode.

CDRALW2K.SYS' = Roxio Driver
InCDfs.SYS'
InCDpass.SYS' = InCD was installed
InCDrec.SYS'
I'd suggest you clean up your PC. InCD is a bad idea if wanting to record DVD video. Batch writing software tries to control the burner. Roxio doesn't always play well with Nero. When problems crop up it's time to decide between the 2. Remove both Roxio and Nero using add remove in the control panel. Then use Roxizap (Roxio cleaner) to clean out any leftover drivers and files. With Nero use the Nero cleaner to do a good cleanup. Then run a reg cleaner. Then reinstall Nero and do not install InCD when doing so.
For full disc it's easy. Rip Full Disc and then open Shrink, it automatically opens in Full Disc, select Backup and you go to the burn options. At this point the files should still be in Video_TS format (so they can easily be checked if necessary). If you want to burn with Nero, select the option with your burner. If ImgBurn or Decrypter, select Create ISO and Burn with (program). Once you have everything cleaned up and the programs reinstalled, reboot and give it another try.

Guys,
I'm a bit confused because some of the responses above work with XP and not Vista as is my case. In my XP machine, I use AnyDVD, DVDShrink and Nero or Roxio to burn and works fine. This process doesn't work in my Vista machine. For some reason when DVDShrink is Re-Authoring, it runs into the protection issue. So, if someone would please to tell me which programs to use in my Vista machine.
What I want to do is copy my DVDs to the standard 4.7Gb DVD disc. I don't need full disc backup. I have loaded in my Vista machine the following: AnyDVD(latest version); DVDShrink, Nero 7; FixVTS 1.6, ImageBurn 2.3, DVDDecryptor 3.5; DVDFabHDDecrypter3208Beta and Ripit4me. I think I have enough stuff!
I appreciate any help!

I guess what i'm tryin to figure out is what are the most effective completely free easy to use programs i need to accomplish the task of backing up my movies. This question comes because of the problems i ran into using dvdd and shrink with a few movies so far, listed at the bottom of this page. Before these movies everything was a breeze. In tryin to figure out how to back up these movies i've also changed my default settings in dvdd and can't figure out how to get them back i need help with that. Also can i contact a knowledgeable admin or moderator member of this site for personal assistance thru email or some sort for my questions cuz i'm afraid if i close this page i won't be able to find it again. I need the instruction method step by step on how to back up fun with dick and jane, inside man and bourne supremacy, and any others i may have this same problem with ty

AnyDVD is $50 and you can download it for a free 21 day trial period. If it works for you, then you can buy it. But, as was mentioned elsewhere in this thread there are free programs available to do the same job.

As LOCOENG pointed out, for a good backup, all you need are the free DVDFab HD Decrypter to bypass the copy protection (should work with Vista), DVD Shrink for transcoding (shrinking) and minor editing, and ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter for burning the transcoded DVD Shrink output.
DVD Decrypter is a dual program. It's a ripper-decrypter, and a burning program, both obsolete. The decryption software in Shrink is obsolete, it does some but not all releases and hasn't been updated for quite a while. DVD Decrypter is one of the original supported burners in DVD Shrink (CopyToDVD, Nero, and DVD Decrypter). ImgBurn is the updated burning software from DVD Decrypter by the same author. There's a modified Shrink exe file that replaces the original so Shrink will support automatic use of ImgBurn. I got it so long ago, I forget where I picked it up.
edit: Here's that modified Shrink exe file from another thread, courtesy of LOCOENG.

@Lilstar
Personal instruction when it can be done on the open forum is against forum rules. If you're subscribed to the thread, and you should by posting, you will get an email message the thread has been added to. Keep the last message and you have a direct link to the thread. My post above covers why you're having problems with newer movies, obsolete decryption software. DVDFab HD Decrypter (free ripper-decrypter) or the retail AnyDVD (driver decrypter with an included ripper). I have both, but I use the DVDFab HD Decrypter most. By itself I rarely, if ever, use DVD Decrypter. The free DVDFab HD Decrypter has been ahead of Slysoft (AnyDVD) for handling some of the newer copy protections lately. In this case free is better than retail.
DVDFab HD Decrypter is so easy, most people can look at the interface and see how it works. There's some easy guides if needed though. Tons of guides on DVD Shrink, just use the later ones because 3.2 has options not available in earlier versions. Remember Shrink's decryption software is obsolete as is DVD Decrypter. You can still use DVD Decrypter as a supported burner, but personally I changed to ImgBurn. Plenty of guides explaining the process of burning. ImgBurn is hard to beat for a freeware burner program. It's so popular, it has its own forum.
As for FixVTS, it's handy, but not needed nearly as much as it was for a while. Learn to use it, but if you can open a set of files in DVD Shrink with the quick analysis, they should be okay and not need FixVTS processing.
Here's a thread on ImgBurn and DVD Decrypter you should find useful. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/573367#3487516

Did you read the above thread on how to set up DVD Shrink to support ImgBurn? I updated the post, so take a look to be sure you caught all I said in the how to post. Easy to spot, instructions are in red.
When Bourne Supremacy was first released it was a small problem. That was solved at the time and it's not been a problem since. DVDFab HD Decrypter should handle it without need for FixVTS. Answer the following questions and we'll see.
Once you ripped with DVDFab HD Decrypter the files should have been on your hard drive without copy protection. What happened when you went to open those files in DVD Shrink? Did the quick analysis open or fail, what happened? No background decrypter software, like AnyDVD, should be used with DVDFab.

So i just downloaded and did the DVD burn like you said in the manual
http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheG...k,imageburn.pdf
(skipping the step i was told not necessary in posts)
But, I won't work on my home dvd player(no disc)
or my computer(no compatiable dvd decoder)
I have played burned dvds on my home player before with no problem.
Any advice? This was Evan Almighty. Before I start making more copies and wasting DVD's just wanted some expert insight.

Good morning Pacman, I did read the thread on how to set up fab to burn with imgburn and i did that correctly in fab while copying Bourne Supremacy after about 11 mins in the process fails to complete so i don't get to opening up shrink. i'm wondering if i should unistall dvdd it's not running but do u think that would help or maybe i should reinstall dvdfab maybe a file is missing the movie is not damaged and i also tried another copy of the same movie and still no success.i have xp home edition. the error message this time said dvdfab encounters a reading error(may be caused by copy protection) which can be removed by using PathPlayer,the technology we employed in dvdfab please note when pathplayer is enabled opening a dvd may take up to several minutes.would you like to restart dvdfab to enable pathplayer for this dvd. Can someone plz tell me anything about pathplayer
will fixvts allow me to copy the movie to my hard drive and remove the protection
Pacman where r u i need u

FixVTS is for processing files that have already had the copy protection removed.
I'm assuming you're using version 3210 for DVDFab. With the files ripped to the hard drive using DVDFab HD Decrypter, open the Video_TS folder. Turn on FixVTS. With FixVTS imposed over the Video_TS files, drag a VOB file onto the FixVTS window and select Full DVD. In place means no backup. Having a backup takes twice the space. You decide. Then try opening the processed files in Shrink.

Evan Almighty is a fairly new release, but it's not been a problem with copy protection. You should have checked out the thread on that particular movie.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/573344
One user mentioned doing the release with DVDFab Gold. That has the same decryption software as the free DVDFab HD Decrypter. I think DVDFab may have been updated since then.
You may want to check the thread I posted above.
