Use DVDfab HD Decrypter and then FixVts and you are golden. Shrink will then work and use Nero or your choice of program.

I used fixvts and then tried to burn with Nero recode....Nero recode showed none on the extras on the disc and it froze up like it did before I ran the files thru fix vts....Is this a Nero problem????

Yes, it would be another step if not using recode. You've already run through FixVts, so it shouldn't take long to transcode and burn. But, yes, it is another step.

I had to update my version of dvdfab platinum 4 that I downloaded a week ago. The new edition that I downloaded 1/16/07 worked perfectly, finally, to rip this. Nothing else worked, not clonedvd, dvd decrypter, ripit4me, or dvd shrink.
After ripping with dvdfab I tried to shrink with clonedvd, didn't work still, I could only shrink it with dvdfab again.

so i ripped w/ DVDFAb and then shrink wouldn't compress, so i ran thru FixVTS, now at first run it gave me an error
Could not open file C:\FullDisc\GOOD LUCK CHUCK 16X9 UNRATED\VTS_01_01
The only optin being OK.
Clicked OK and after it completed, it still wouldn't shrink, checked my version of FixVTS
1.603
Hmm, so now i got check afterdawn and sure enuff i find a thread that says FixVTS should work, so i ran it thru again.
This time it worked
Just waiting for the ISO to burn now...

As was the case with 3:10 to Yuma and a few other discs, this DVD's volume name has brackets around it, that is, <Good Luck Chuck>, which is a problem for some decrypters when they autoname the PC folder to rip to. Deleting the brackets before ripping allowed the magic combination of RipIt4Me/DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to do the job without a problem.

it would be nice if the free dvdfab HD program incorporated fixvts in its program like ripit4me does.
so, i'm running fixvts1.603 and when finished i will open up shrink and then burn with decrypter. hopefully this will fix the problem of shrink not being able to shrink it down enough to fit on a dvd5.

Running through FixVts will certainly help out. Also, before you transcode with Shrink, do the deep analysis on it and that'll clean it up a bit. But, it does take a little longer.

It's probably better to get friendly advice from a member instead of having a mod warn you.
All - No double, triple, quadruple posting etc. Edit your previous post instead.
@coastal69
Did you try the beta of DVDFab HD Decrypter - 4.0.5.1 beta.
Hopefully running it through FixVTS did the trick.
I used AnyDVD - 6.3.0.3 and CloneDVD - full backup.

The only way I was sucessful burning this movie was to download the trial version of DVD Fab Platinum. And allowing it to burn from there. I was able to burn on both a single layer and dual layer DVD.
I tried to use Recode to rip and burn from the CD. Would rip, but would not allow me to do anything else. Program would not respond.
I tried to use DVD Fab Decyrpter 4.0.5.0 and 4.0.5.1 to rip to HD. Then tried to use both DVD Shrink and Recode to shink the disk. DVD Shrink would backup, but nero would not respond when trying to burn. Recode would open the file, but again would not let me go any further than that. Program would not respond (wouldn't let me press any options once it was open and would only lock up).
I also tried to use DVD95Copy. I have had success using this program for serveral stubborn movies. Would open the disk, however would give me an access denied error.
This is the most problemmatic movie I have ever tried to backup, and I have backed up over 1000 movies. Like I said, DVD Fab Platinum was the only program I could get to make a good backup (infact its the only program that wouldn't freeze trying to burn the movie). I have watched both copies (DL and SL) and both work fine.

New to the site here, love all the info you can find here. Anyway I have tried to back-up Good Luck Chuck with DVDFAB HD Decyripter and then ran it through FixVTS and then when I use DVD Shrink I get a error msg "DVD Shrink Encountered An Error And Cannot Continue.
Out Of Memory
Not Enough Storage Is Available to Process This Command."
I am running XP Pro with 1 gig of memory and I have 20 gigs of hard drive space. Any Ideas what would give me this msg?

Like binkie7 said, make sure you're running the newest version of DvdFab, process through FixVts and Shrink shouldn't have a problem with it. That's exactly how i backed this one up.

Just rip w/ DVDFab HD Decrypter (see my post above) then open those files in Shrink as usual.
