After ripping with DvdFab 4.1.2.0 FixVts gave an error. Still playing with it. :)
EDIT: Trying to rip with DvdFab 5.0.9. main movie only, the task time left keeps going up.
We got our challenge Dialysis!

Quote: 2) fixvts in ripit4me had probs (problem 5) if prompted, just click yes (to all the prompts, about 30 times)
3)vob blanker, click on vts 27 vob, the movie and open
a) blank out # 3 and 4 in the cell list and then apply
4) use shrink in reauthor mode (and drag and drop the main movie about 6016 Mb) and in set start end frames, start frames after the first time you see the universal logo (the end credits appear first)end titles will reappear correctly at the end, although it appears I lost about 2 seconds between the transition and the end titles

I agree with bones, I don't want anything any harder. I am already dreading Iron Man next week. Anyway I ripped full disk with DVD Fab 5.0.9.5 and then processed with VobBlanker. I removed everything but the menu and main movie (like to keep the ability of scene selection) checked it at this point with Media Player Classic and was thrown for a loop when the credits appeared first. Then I went back and read through the thread and seen where that had happened elsewhere and how to fix it, so I am off to play some more. Yippeee!!!

Maybe next week!
I ripped Main Movie (DvdFab Platinum 5.0.9.5.), removing all alternate languages, and alternate subtitles. And let DvdFab Platinum transcode and VSO burn. So far, the backup seems to play just fine, starting at the beginning and playing ok so far. I didn't use VobBlanker or FixVts.
Also, on a whim i tried running Anydvd in the background while ripping with DvdFab Platinum 5.0.9.5...nothing. It crashed.

I'm still trying to get this one backed-up. I've fully read this thread and tried the things listed here, no joy thus far.
And Bones, you can give the tough ones to Dialysis1, 7thsinger, and Iluvendo.
Some assembly required.

Well, back to report on the final success of the complete DVD. I ran my original DVD Fab HD hard drive back-up VOB's through FixVTS and that got rid of the closing credits at the beginning and end without re-authoring. I ran the FixVTS/ backup folder with DVD Shrink (very strange backup options) and got the whole movie with extra features, full menu and sound! Anyway, since there have really been no challenges for a month or so - this was fun.

Strange , as most of us are in region 1, you had minimal probs, and we had challenging hurdles to over come...... makes me wonder if in region 1 we have 2 versions, 1 with relatively light encryption, and 2 the big guns pulled out ?

Exactly. Thanks to bones for pointing that out. So far, all I can get is Main Movie via DvdFab 5.0.9.5 and using VobBlanker afterwards.
Some assembly required.

Tough call my friend. There's not a special edition to contend with. Where would the 2nd version come from. I'm having serious issues with it, and have sent the failures to Fengtao. Hope something comes through soon.
Some assembly required.

sKrEwZ, most of the newer encryptions have fallen to Anydvd and dvdfab in relatively short time (as for example today slysoft had a new update specifically for this) so my conspiracy mind thinks if you can't beat 'em, confuse em.Macrovision and the like must monitor boards like these, and see what we are up to. So if you add confusion to the back up game at a low cost of 2 versions (manufactured at the plant on more than 1 line), then boards like this one become confusing (remember Creaky had no trouble backing his, after all he is in region 2). So why not 2 encryption versions in a big market as region 1 ? Makes sense to me

Or programmers are working double duty if you catch my drift. Write a tougher encyrption while on the clock and crack it when you're not. Or I could be way off.
