@Jake This is normal, all zou need to do is keep waiting and it will eventually come up with the Ldots Itools screen. Otherwise, if this doesn#t work for zou, just try renting MechAssault and using that. It is so much easier.

hey i have a problem i used splinter cell and downloaded the linux to my xbox then i go to checkpoints and it says i need to call customer support and the xbox light flashes red to green and so on. could someone please tell me what to do? thanks

try usin a different memory card then action replay the xbox 1 worked for me but the AR 1 didnt

do i need a 64mb mem card? in the ftp it says like all these files are like 5mb+ for ltools, i only have an 8mb memcard that came with action replay max...

O.K. I have downloaded ltools_MA_v1.7.5 i have it copied to my xbox hdd. i have the original mechassault and everything but when i run the "Run Linux" i get a screen with a black background and green letters that says
"Service Required.Call Customer Support."
with a 21 in the top left corner and then probably the same words just spelled in a bunch of different languages..And then the light blinks red and green.What could be causing this and what can i do to fix this?
Thanks in advance... Sorry if i am asking a question that has allready been answered.

I need some help please....first of all I have needed help for a while but I NEVER posted, I figured this whole soft modding thing out for myself instead of buggin people like jonbtrini.
OK i got all the way to the point were I get the hacks from xbins BUT my smartFTP client is acting wierd the whole time i'v got it, for example it will just timeout all of a sudden. This is while im connecting to my xbox through FTP by putting my IP in the destination and than "xbox" as login and password. But it says,....
"connecting to (MY ISP)"
"connected to (MY ISP)"
"timeout (20 s)"
"client closed the connection"
WTF!!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THERE DOING....IM SO CLOSE TO MODDING lol
ALSO, another wierd thing that happens, everytime i close smartFTP and try to go back into it- it has to install over and over everytime i want to go into it.

@psycox i was having some simaler problems with smart ftp, try cuteftp, i think its easier to use and more reliable, u might have to turn off the ftp filter tho... if u already have ltools on your pc, i think u have to transfer them into a memory card using action replay.... u cant transfer files to and from your xbox without first softmodding it

WTF!! computers are such bullshit god damn it....I got cute FTP and the same damn message appears!I clicked on URL to connect to my Xbox and in the address I put in the ISP and then it says, "Connecting" after a bit this message pops up thats says, "The server forcibaly closed the connection" "This normally results from a loss of the connnection due to timeout or server reboot"
1) Try connecting to the server again
2) Verify that the problem is not local by trying to connect to the alternate server.

Yo LMAO the reason it couldn't connect is because I forgot to plug back in my ethernet cord!!! LMAO im a tard. Anyway Im having this other problem, i dont think im doing something right....I unzipped my files that I wanted from xbins, ie: Halo launcher, PGR2 editor from the gamehacks directory, how do I upload them to the folders on my xbox? I tried draging them from there destination were I unzipped them to the E folder (wic is were they say is a good place to store games and apps) and it transferred them but when I go in to my EvoX dashboard and go to launch menu>Games & apps there is nothing in either of the folders! what do i do, Thanks.

You have to drag any programs to E:\Apps
If you don't have these folders, create them on your Xbox HD:
E:\Apps
E:\Games
This will allow your programs to be recognized and shown on the menu...
@PSYCO - Sounds like YOU'RE the one doing something wrong man...TWO ftp programs didn't work, and you think it's the computer's fault???

.rar files do not work with action replay...only ZIP archives work with AR...A WinRAR Zip Archive will work fine.. But a WinRAR Archive will not

Jon...I made 2 folder in smartFTP under the E file, I clicked on E and right clicked>NEW FOLDER and named 1 apps and the other games and than I put for example, pacman into the games folder, than I put the pgr2 editor in the apps folder and also some emulators. I than go to the dashboard and look under games and apps and my stuff is there but when i press A nothing happens!? PLEASE HELP thanks

Make sure you're copying it correctly. A common mistake is not having the default.xbe file in the first subdirectory. What i mean is, ftp the folder of the program under your e:\apps directory, and make sure the main launcher file "default.xbe" is under the file folder. For example, if you had Xbox Media Center, it would look like this:
e:\apps\xbmc\default.xbe + the other program files
That should be the directory structure for your programs...

First of all i'd like to thank you for all your help. There is one more question about were to put something....I got this modded map off of a...."site" and I don't know were to put it? it's the levels "the hive" and this other one, can't remember the name. how do I get those to work? thanks a lot man.

ok, then i'll change it to .zip format then drag and drop it into action replay, so an 8mb memcard can fit the whole ltools file? yea jo, i want to play on those variations to the maps, they look so sweet

Jon....sorry about all these questions it's just that im new to this stuff and I dont want to screw things up, at least im not spaming question after question about common sense things :) Anyway I followed how to get the maps in halo 2 but the HEX editing part kinda confuses me in that one tut it asks me to find an offset number of like 0x1bc or something like that and I have no idea were to find that offset, I didn't have a HEX editor so I got this one called HEX workshop but if there is a better one out there what is it? LOL geeze im so close to haveing moderific fun but the littlest things bring me to a hault, so could you please tell me how to edit the hex. If I could give you something in return for this help I would but.......hmmmm pay PAL? lol
