Hello,
I have questions regarding the following games:
1) Transformers: Director's Cut (PAL) has been reported to have 60 hz mode from various websites on the net. Could anybody here confirm?
2) Ape Escape 2 (PAL): I tried playing this game with Swap Magic 3.6 and forcing it to play with the PAL option in Swap Magic (I have an NTSC console). The game can play, however the screen is stretched vertically. Would patching the game with the Y-FIX V1.05 BETA resolve the issue of the stretched vertical screen? Or would it basically have the same effect as Swap Magic's built-in PAL-NTSC converter?
3) Zone of Enders 2: Special Edition (PAL release). I have heard that this game is able to be patched. However, I am wondering if this claim is true, and if the results after patching include stretched screens or not. Could anybody confirm any info with Zone of Enders 2: SE?

So what is the best way to get the best compatibility with games?
I already have a modchip, that plays most burned games. Is it worth the money to have a Matrix Infinity bought and installed?
Or does Swap Magic work just as well, on top of the modchip I already have?
On a side note, can anyone tell me what the BEST CDs and DVDs for burning games is? The all around best, somewhat regardless to price. Then can someone tell me the bestin regards quality AND price? ^_^

How about Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X/X-2? And Star Ocean? If I used the PAL-NTSC fix on them would they look okay, or would something else need to be done to them? Just wanna play my games in glorious 60hz, and full screen, getting kinda pissed off with the letterbox thing. Agh, wont the Y-Fix affect Cutscenes too? So will they be full screen too?

can we get confirmation that Star Wars Battlefront I and Sims 2 CANNOT be patched from PAL to NTSC? I know it says that battlefront works with paltontsc, but unless an extra step needs to be used, it doesn't work. Is there an extra method that can work for this?
Also is there a list of games that cannot be patched, so I can stop making coasters.

Sims 2 works with ADR Patcher. And use a DVDRW for testing. Not to play always only for testing.

Regarding F1 2005... The version I have does not have 50/60 HZ selector either. I was hopeful after reading an earlier report that it did. Very disappointing...

I dunno about the PAL to NTSC patchers because i use my DMS4 force NTSC option, but the game works fine without problem with it..the screen position is also correct even if the top is kinda off screen a little bit..but the game is playable :)

Hello PS2 friends:
I purchased a PAL version game of WRC4 (rally evolved) and I already tried to patched the iso file that I created using the suggested programs like adr patcher 0.5, pal2ntsc,ntscconv, but so far I still can´t make the game run properly on my NTSC ps2, so I just wonder if someone here has already found the way to make it run.
I read that PS2 PAL to NTSC Patcher with Y-FIX don´t work for WRC 4, but don´t know where to find the PS2 PAL to NTSC Patcher with NO Y-FIX.
I would appreciate any Help:
Thanks a lot.

To chafita:
To play this games if you have a chipped PS2 you need to get swapmagic 3.6 and force the game to NTSC. Works perfect and you don't need to patch nothing cause the WRC games have a screen position option. In some program you can search "the only one that really works". PM for any question.
The program that patch PAL to NTSC without Y-Fix it calls ADR Patcher.

Metal Slug 3 PAL (SLES_525.99)
Languages: Multi 5 (EN/FR/DE/IT/ES)
50/60Hz Selector: Yes, right after the language selection screen, choose (PAL 60/60 Hz)
Underworld: The Eternal War PAL (SLES_521.09)
Languages: Multi 5 (EN/FR/DE/IT/ES)
50/60Hz Selector: No
Use PAL to NTSC patch with Y-fix with offset 48 or the chip's force ntsc video mode if available to play the game. If u run it from the HDD, do not press any button when the Play It video shows up or it will freeze the game

Anyone know any information about Grandia II PAL? Patching from PAL-NTSC, i used the PAL2NTSC patcher with Y fix and it works well, the sounds off though, by quite a bit.

To nrk4594
I've been visiting this site going by the first thread posted trying to convert the "Underworld: The Eternal War" for PAL PS2 to NTSC. Following the directions to the letter, I have burned three times, but have not been successful. I currently use a factory refurbished slimline NTSC PS2. Nothing added.
Do I need anything additional to what I have in terms of hardware?
Am I missing something in terms of the burning or converting process?

Could someone answer these questions about Colin McRae Rally 2005?
1) Does it have a 50/60h selector?
2) Does it work with Swap Magic 3.3 in NTSC mode?
3) Does it have a screen centering option?
Thanks.

How does the game run when patched with ADR and forced to NTSC mode with Swap Magic? I had heard somewhere on this thread that by using a certain patcher, the game ran slower than normal. Is this the case with ADR and Swap Magic. Also, can the screen be perfectly centered using the game's screen adjustment, and what value should be used?

Jsch1305,
u cant just run a burned/copied game in your ps2 without modification..so yes u need to add some kind of hardware in order to play the game..u can choose a modchip that is installed on the ps2 motherboard wich directboot all the game..or if u r cheap or dont want to install a chip, u can choose the swap magic disc...but u must swap between that disc and the game disc each time u wanna play..but u cannot run burned games just like that..sony is smart u know..the only way to play non original games without mod is to press them with the machine that companies uses to make lots of copies of the game..but the machine cost around 20,000$ and u can only get it in china i think....
