quote>Flatout 2 PAL have 50/60 HZ Selector there's no need to patch nothing. If you patch a game with selector you mess all of it
the only way to get to the 50/60 HZ Selector is to patch the game and check the box make pn selector.

Hi everyone! Whats up?
I've got a little problem =P
I just got "Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 Collector's Edition" which was only released in Europe, thus a PAL game, and I need it to be NTSC, otherwise I see everything b&w. Well, I've used the program you mentioned before (PAL2NTSCyfix) and the game regained its colors but lost part of it's image (which was perfect before).
My question is: Is there a way to -when changing to NTSC- ONLY "switch the colors on", without affecting the screen adjustment?
Please answer ^^ Thanks in advance

Yo. I ordered a copy of Way of the Samurai 2, a pretty rare title online only to find out that it is a PAL version and won't work on my Ps2. When I used DVD encryptor to take the ISO I recieved an ISO file called Samurai2, then whe nI used the Ps2 PAL program a MDS file appeared next to that. Which should I burn to DVD with the encryptor?
Update. Neither one work. Burned both to DVD-Rs and the Ps2 still says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc"

No. You see I had no intention to get the Brit version. Is there no way to get it to play on mine without swapmagic or a chip?

WTH?? Of course you need a modchip or swapmagic. That's the only way. If you find another, i'll pay you $1million.

Hello. I just got Shinbido: Way of the Ninja today. Its was only released in europe, so it is a PAL game.
Heres my situation.
I used Jayteemaster's PS2 PAL TO NTSC PATCHER WITH Y-FIX V1.06 BETA to see if I can convert the game from PAL to NTSC. It worked fine and I burn it fine as well. When I when to try the game everything was in color and running ok except that the game was center well. The game's upper and bottom screens were off a bit and I couldn't see any dialogue text from the game properly.
So I decided to try jayteemaster other program. PS2 VIDEO FIXER 2005 V1.00. It says it didn't work well for PAL to NTSC, but I still gave it a good.
I patched it, burned it, and started to play. Everything was in color and perfectly centered. I could see the entire screen and everything. The only problem was that the game's audio and video get out of sync every now and then. (The game would freeze from time to time while the audio would skip like the disc is scratched or something)
So what should I do to get the best of both those programs?

Well, that was EXACTLY my problem and I even got that audio/video sync problem. I was starting to think it was something to do with my PS2 console :S I'm a little relieved in that sense =P
Hope someone comes with a solution to our problem, it would be really appreciated ^^.
Again thanks in advance

I'm def no expert on audio/video, but PAL frame rate is running @different speed than NTSC rate (U.S./Japan). The audio is synched with the video, so that is also running @different speed. Because of this, unless a program can sync the audio & video perfect, the sound will always be off. In one game (forget which one, I think Urban Reign PAL) the sound moved @much faster speed than the video. I use an NTSC PS2 slim. By the time the audio was over, the video scenes were cut off.
So the program must be tied to either the audio or video stream. Once that part finishes, the game moves on. Whether the other stream is behind or not. How difficult would it be to write a program that could sync them 100% Perfect??

I have a copy of Phantom Brave but it's PAL. I couldn't use the yfix thing because it needs to be an .iso file but it's .mds instead. So I used DVD Decrypter to burn it and then change it into an .iso so I could use the yfix but when I burn it (after trying yfix) and try it on the Ps2 I either get:
A) not ps2 format disc or whatever
B) show's the playstation logo and then black screen
Anyone mind helping me out? ;_;

I have both F1 05 and F1 06 in PAL.
I patched F1 05 with no issues in gameplay. Video can be centered via the options and audio was perfect during gameplay. There is audio studdering during the opening movie sequence but that's it.
I patched F1 06 but there are audio issues during gameplay where strange sounds are used almost like a mismatch and incorrect use of the SFX. The opening movie does not studder but the audio does periodically drop out of 1 second or so.
Will these audio problems exist regardless due to the NTSC conversion?

I used a program called ps2_pal2ntsc_yfix.exe if you do a search, you'll definitely find it as it's linked in many places.
Return me the favor by letting me know if your audio works 100% i.e. no strange sounds. I'm using HD Advance (hard drive) to play the game and I've got sound issues. If you don't, I'll resort to burning it and playing it from DVD...

I have the same problem with Shinobido Imashime. First i used the PAL 2 NTSC with Y-Fix patcher and the screen was very centered (as close as could be or satisfactory). then i noticed the video/audio was not syncronized. I then found the PAL 2 NTSC with V-Fix Patcher by jayteemaster and it syncronized the video/audio but left the screen uncentered could not see the bottom at all. so my question is why did he not compile the two source codes together to make a Y-fix and V-fix PAL 2 NTSC patcher? Im no expert or anything close to it but if both proggies do a really good job at what they are for then why not combine them both otherwise you can either choose to have syncronized video/audio or have the screen centered. lol whats up with that? Don't we want both? come on give it up for Jayteemaster for making the two proggies but work out a YV-Fix for it. Much appreciation for the work so far Jayteemaster.

hi nrk4594, can you clarify something here for me?
This step has me a little confused:
3)Burn the patched ISO file
a)Run DVDDecrypter.exe
b)Select Mode-->Iso-->Write
c)For the Source, locate your patched ISO file. The program patches and overwrites your orignal ISO file. Select your orignal ISO file.
e)For the Destination, select the dvd drive you wish to burn the game.
f)Select your prefered write speed
g)Select File-->Write. This will now burn the game.
When i used that program to convert, it said it did, then i went to my c:\documents and settings\local settings\temp to find the file in DVD Decrypter like you instructed to do above. its a file called "SCES_533.15.bak", but there is no new .iso file. Where is the new patched file at?

I think i understand the burning part now, just select the original iso file. Its patched but doesnt point it out that it does. Right?
After i burned it i opened IsoBuster to read the files, it still says SCES, but its actually an NTSC game now right?

Hey I read through all 28 pages of the forums and kind of got the jist of this whole patching situation.
But I have come across a problem, I recently acquired Metal Slug 3d and I patched it with Pal2Ntsc and it worked just fine on my ps2 but the centering was a little off. So I go back to repatch it and I was not able, so I tried ADR and that managed to patch the game. So I re-burn it and tried it out. The bootscreen comes up giving me options on selecting which format I would like to play the game in. So I make my selection and then it goes back to the PS2 browser saying that the dvd has no data.
BTW my ps2 is chipped.
What can I do to get this game working again?

Firs than nothing make a backup of the original iso before any patchin, patch the copys of it. paltontsc always make a backup of the executable of the game SLXX_XXX in c:\Document and setting etc etc. Search for it. If you screw it up. Use apache 2 and replace the executable into the iso, this if you didn't use the boot selector option in paltontsc. Plus use DVD+-RW to test purposes. Not for game
