bhetrick... I think you and I should peace from this thread. We seem to be the only senior members and AD addict responding. Now it is all newbies or junior members with no info at all, just telling stories.

I get ban today, at least i notice today because i turned on today, maybe banned sice last week, I have NME 360 ver. 2 on a BenQ 360 drive, I have using it for about 3 month online and offline with originals and backups. I allways do my own backups using kreon firmware samsung dvd, chedked with mulleter and kreon check, so it suppose to be "safe". The only different thing that i do recently that maybe it could influd on my console been banned was downloading a copy of Dead Space and Far Cry 2, i download both of them after the realese, but i dont do the backup myself, i allways rent them and do the backup.I checked both of them with mulleter and kreon check before running on my console. I havent never played a prerealese game like gow 2 and cod 5. Actually i bought those two games before the bann come because I thought that something like this could happen specialy with GOW 2. Now I have one question, it is safe to continue playing using my hdd from my banned console on a new one, so i can still using my account achivments and increase my gamerscore with backup games?

yes it's safe.. wow u got banned today i guess the ban wave is still not over yet.. for the time being,, my xbox 360 ethnert is unplugged..I guess i will really have to wait till a new firmware comes out till then it's not safe to connect yet.

You're not too bright are you? The criteria for being banned is going on Xbox Live with a modded console. You went on Xbox Live with a modded console. You got banned.
Whether you played a backup or not (and you seem to contradict yourself on that a couple of times) is irrelevant because the terms and conditions clearly states that if a modified console is connected to Live, you risk having that console permanently banned. Maybe you can read about as well as you can type, in which case it's undertandable that you probably didn't notice that clause in the T&C, but either way, you are 100% to blame for what happened and all the whining in the world isn't going to change a thing.

I think maybe he just did the update but didnt know that he was banned because he probably didnt sign in until the update then BAM got banned. That's whats been happening to a few people on here so far. I have been online on xbox. Played some of my original games and a backup of Dead Space. Haven't gotten banned yet knock on wood.

Well I was banned, heres the info:

Pretty much played everything
I did unplug the video cable when flashing to avoid sata cable log
Also, just because you've been playing with the ethernet cable unplugged doesn't mean anything. You're still logged for a ban, so the next time you go online it'll zap you. My guess would be that newly flashed consoles will be fine until another ban wave comes. My guess would be that Microsoft does a ban wave 2-3 times a year.

Has anyone who has been banned tried there modded xbox hard drive (full of save games and achievements before official release dates) to an unmodded console and been ok?

I've been using my modded HDD for a while now, and my first console was banned, but I don't think it was because of that. I've got another BenQ drive modded, and it's going fine at the moment!

....................................yes i have no problems so far...if they use the data on the hard drive to ban you which we all assume they are.......if they look at my data again they could ban me on a perfectly legit console....

Just to keep the chaotic flow of info:
Running IX 1.1-rev2 on Benq about 1 year now. Logged on last week and installed the NXE no problem. Downloaded some rockband songs and everything seems fine. I'll check tomorrow and see if I get smacked.
I NEVER play ANYTHING online, but I have had discs in the drive OFFLINE, that have failed SS checks or have the "jitter" issue that 1.12 cannot prevent. I only connect ethernet cable when I want to download songs. After that, xbox gets turned off, cable unplugged, and I start it up again.
I have NO idea why I haven't gotten the boot, except if it's just because MS is only checking online play or disc in drive connection etc.
Only prerelease I have played, is the fallout3.seed4me release (oops!) before release date. I also forgot to forward the date on my box for a few days when I started playing and then jumped it ahead, and then back again after the release date hit.
I also ONLY use my silver account login name when I use live and NOT when playing offline. IDK if that is a possible things MS checks.

well im still not banned never played a backup on live iextreme 1.4 it call comes down to bad rips i guess but anyway i think its safe to plug yout ethernets back in

I have been playing on live with only Gears of War 2 and Halo 3. From my testing with my xbox 360's Microsoft is monitoring the new games. The way I see it is if you played the game early Microsoft gets a report, they have people that look at your console data and determine if it has ever done anything irregular like looking for a bad burn or someone playing early. It is play games early what it tips of Microsoft.I had three consoles all brand new played gears of war 2 before release date all 3 were banned at different times. I sure Microsoft has a list and everybody is on it. So have you been a good boy/girl this year. Ho ho ho merry Christmas from Microsoft.

best bet is to scan the iso with abgx 360 gui (google will find it and a search of this site will reveal the post i made when stuck on how to use it, which the good people here showed how)
of course ripping them your self is the best bet for 90% safety (theres never gonna be 100% safety hell we should all realise how lucky we are to have live as it is on modded consoles) C4eva should be made a saint in my opinion
