That's kind of a very naive question. It's sort of like games played on a normal TV compared to the exact same game on a PC screen at like 1024x768 resolution. It's just a difference in recolution. The HDTV will just make the PS3 games look so much sweeter than on normal TV.

you need the HDTV for the full throttle experience. on any other tv it will look ok, but no where near its best. and yes its due to the resolution.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

You are correct anubis it's the same with the 360, If you don't have HDTV your games will not look very good.My 360 looks like crap on Sony 36" normal but when you add Sony 60" HD TV the games look so much better. I also hooked up my Ps2 W/ component, looks very good.

yeah, 60's are cheap so make, especially if your company can make them with their own factories. ms did that, at charges you 99 for a 20gb, whne a 20gb in stores costs about 40-50

Before complaining how Microsoft are ripping people off with an overpriced hard drive first remember that one, it is external and specific (with no competition) which cost more than internal PC hard drives.
Second Sony havent said anything on the price of thier PS3 hard drive yet and not so long ago they where charging 29.95 pound for thier official 8mb memory card.

wow does europe get shafted. same thing from the new psp basic pack, its 199 usd and 199 gbp, both of different value. the cards havnt reduced in price, but the value of our money has cuz of some gay guy running the usa. im glad i live where i do. plus internal or external should not matter, the drive still costs the same, and the shell costs pennies to make.

I know but go and check how much an 80gb PC external hard drive costs compared to an 80gb internal PC hard drive.
Also like I was saying Sony havent said anything about pricing so no real comparison on how Microsoft are overpricing thier HDD can be given against te PS3.

I'm just hoping $ony won't pull a M$ with their HDD. It is coming preloaded with Linux, and the emulation is hardware based, so it shouldn't be taking that much space. I remember most Linux installer CDs are 700MB or less.

Only one important question about the PS3 remains unanswered: "How much?"
