take into consideration, the ps3 site has in no way what-so-ever been updated since e3 of last year. why now does this surface? it could have been discussed ages ago. what is wrong here? as of e3 sony said there would be no unified online service, but look what changed. back then, they also said they would have no hdd, but that may change. i myself have no proof on either case weather its right or wrong, but im just saying dont fall into it. this is almost year old news finally serfacing. the ps3 was still conception back then and had nothing really set in stone. again look at the addion of a unified online service supposedly more capable than xbl. that time will tell, and with this hdd rumor, time will tell aswell. i can believe so many people are making a big deal over outdated and unconfermed info. people are saying "look even sony said they wont have an hdd" but they said the same thing about an online service. everyone just wait and see here, dont take these people seriously. again, i myself have nothing to say on if they will or not, im just trying to point out this is in no way a valid argument.

i never said it was good or bad. but so many people are spreading around the lack of an hdd and believing it, and im just trying to say the info they are using is almost a year old, like that info i had that i thought you lied about xbl?
anyways the ps3 is not great, nor is it bad. its nothing but pieces waiting to be finished and stuck together.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

i know where you are coming from about it being old news but like i said nobody here is trying to put down the ps3 we just want to tal about some new news that has just been seen from old news.
true the ps3 is just made up of stuff but its good stuff, and i am looking forward to buying it.

I believe that the PS3 will have an HDD available as an add-on and it should run Linux. The thing is that it won't be available outside Asia. Remember the PS2 Linux kit? The PS2 HDD? There was even a PS2 Online Navigator that you could use to download content. All of them where available in Japan.
The HDD was available here only for a short period of time and bundled with FF7 and you know why? Sony wants Plastation to be an alternative to PC's, but not here. They don't want PS3 to steal market from their Vaio computers. Most people here can afford PC's, so they would end up using the HDD to copy games into it.
The long list of features suggest it should include a small HDD, at least for Digital Recording, but they are probably having trouble deciding if they should include such a drive. That's probably why they are taking so long, since 20GB or less would make them look cheap and a 40GB+ unit will probably make the price too high.

and yeah, id guess they would have a 20, because a 20 gig 2.5 hdd is really cheap.

Hey anubis Gamestop is saying that they don't have a solid launch for spring or summer and they are guessing it might be XMAS time before it is released. They don't even have any lit. on the P3. The manager said they are hearing there is problems developing games for PS3.

well there is someone called meryil lynch or something who has published how much the costings for the ps3 will be to make whcih is somehting like 800 dollars, so when it comes out sony will be making a large loss fo something like 300 dollars. also that same person said that the ps3 had been delayed between 6 to 12 mounths.

I don't have a link I was talking to a real live person(manager/GameStop-FoxValley store Naperville Illinois) they could not give me any info that was fact. They are in the dark just like everybody. He didn't have any info on games for the Ps3 either,he also said there is alot of people coming in asking the same questions and he is giving the same answer to everybody that asks.

i dont believe this new 900 dollar cost. sony would do that to themselves. they couldnt aand expect to succeed. the blueray drive wont cost as much as they so now will the cell. i know productions cost because i took classes and manufacturiong of products like this and im in agreeance with the original 500-ish estimate.

well what the site said is that now it will cost them 800 to make but in 3 years it will cost them 350 so as ps3's life said by sony to be 10 years therefore they woudl easily make back the profit.

I don't think sony will be that stupid,but they have made some mistakes before look at beta. Sony backed beta instead of VHS ,beta machine were also very costly and video stayed with vhs which was cheaper to produce. I just think sony is having more problems than everyone thinks, but that doesn't meen Ps3 won't be a good system I think it will one day but when that will be ...thats the $64,000 question.

Just passing along some information thats all, I sure the game stores have a little more insight on the release dates since they are selling them along with the systems. It doesn't matter to me, I am going to wait this time before I go and spend another 400 on a system that might have bugs. I'll give it 6 months or more to see what kind of issues, if any that the Ps3 might have.

I am not trying to start anything and I would say everybody has already said the launch for the us will be 2007, the launch in Japan will be this fall. I am not writing these articles, and I think some of the people writing might have a little more knowledge than us common folk. I hear the fat lady singing or choking. Maybe its a good thing for sony, if they released a system with all the problems that MS did sony might sink the ship. You need to read about sony a little more as a company, they are not having a good time as of late. The electronics giant is having problems far beyond the Ps3(their stock droped 4.4% in overnight trading) the Ps3 will be a nice boost once it comes out. Just be patient, it might be out by the time Xbox550 comes out...Thats a joke ha ha

You may be right ,all we can go by is what other people write . Maybe by the time it is released in the US all the bugs will be taken care of.Then agin, you never can tell about these big corparations sometimes they don't use common sense. We will have to see what tomorrow will bring, probably more rumors.

hey ya'll know the gravity gun from halflife? well theres this new costmic string theory that when the string bends around itself, the opitite angles have a high gravitational range. if we could learn about them and it they are inteed real, something like it would be out within 100 years
