What about the 4 USB ports, maybe we can read from them and plug in an external HD (cheap mem), i think the big problem will be the time taken to DL pirate games......rental boom coming!

All of you forgot that you will be able to install linux on the ps3(how stupid of sony-no offence) With an oparating system on board you can do many things with the ps3 hacking it would be easier than ever before and when we will get windows on the ps3- we can play pc games on it.
ps. Cant wait!!!

MEMORY STICK £70
There are some things the DS can't do for everything else there is a PSP.

iwannaps3, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

I don't know if Sony allows you to access the disk drive through linux but I'm not positive.

Hey guys... to start; I've noticed some false info here. Just a few facts for all of you readers. Blu Ray burners start @ $550 at Fry's Electonics and Blank Blu Ray Disc's start @ $19.99 each (ouch!)
Let's keep the facts straight and help push and support our readers who have the knowledge to make these backups possible.

yes u can access the ps3's blue-ray drive from linux. on my fc5 it locks the blue-ray discs (the only one i have is COD3) but it is easily unlocked with k3b which comes with the fc5 ppc install for ps3. u can still dump the disc without unlocking it but to access the files without dumping i had to unlock it with k3b. and also i agree about keeping the information straight for readers. also i have tried a few simple ways of running backups but nothing yet..btw the cod3 disc is only about 6.6GB so it may work on a dual layer dvd later on when we figure out a way to run burnt games. keep up the good work guys. the ps3 will prolly be hacked in some way shape or form within a few months just like everyone is saying these things just take time due to all the trial and error that is involved. soon enuff we will be playing our backups. (legal backups of course)

I have good new for everyone !!
people are now copying ps3 games. i have seen in a torrent site some ps3 games which means someone has copied it to there computer and if they have a blue-ray burner they can burn and make a succesful copy,
so ps3 games are on the internet to download !!!
ALL WE NEED NOW IS A MODCHIP
