hey if i were to upgrade to 3.40 (this is for a friends and he's sure he wants to run it i myself am proudly running 3.03 oe-c) would i have to downgrade to 1.5 again or upgrade straight from my current firmware (he's currently running 3.10 so he's pretty much screwed anyway)

No. Aslong as its 3.03 OE or 3.02 OE or 3.10 OE or 3.30 OE or version 1.50 it will update. Going back to 1.50 is just for if you semi-brick your PSP.

sp your telling me if i just connect my 1.5 psp to my pc and install this thing it will not brick or anyhting and it will work? becaus in the read me it says it will change 3.30 OE-A -> 3.40 OE-A

Thats the changelog.. it will say stuff like "Moved from 3.30 firmware to 3.40 firmware"
Aslong as your running 1.50 firmware or 3.02-OE/3.03 OE/3.10-OE/3.30 OE it will install.

so i just auto install and then on the psp click on the red icon which says 3.40 oe-a firmwar install ?

yer man and thats it thats why people make winstallers so u dont have to create the .dxar file lots easier i would love somebody to make a tutorial on doing it like hexitnow so that i could make one instantly and as for sony they cant think of a new firmware lol they suck

Hi guys,
I've upgraded my psp to 3.03 OE-C in the past, and when I try to to use the winstaller for 3.40 OE-C I get the "Game Cannot be Started" message.
I'm pretty sure it's a simple problem, but can anyone please help?

well i havnt got any oe-a things but i know i saw somewhere this same question and some person said that either have a umd inside or goto like recovery mode and do something like "no umd"

Why do you need to go in recovery mode for? All you have to do is go in USB mode and let the installer run. Then run it in your PSP under the Game menu.
Also i would like to point something out, incase people think these Winstallers are potentially unsafe because they contain the wrong DATA.DXAR or something, Dark Alex has made it so it scans for the correct DATA.DXAR incase of accidental brick, as of 3.30 OE'. So this make Winstallers completly safe.

Hi everyone.
I know Im a little behind the schedule about the latest 3.40 OE-A release but I just upgraded from my recent 1.50 with the "noob" installer and it works perfectly! I have to say, I really like the 3.40 OE-A since the ISO games (from the ISO folder on the memory stick just like the 1.50 devhook style) appears as an icon under your memory stick tab (below the UMD tab... just to explain for those who have never used a psp. A BIG THANKS TO DAX and TEAM REGION for putting together a quick, safe, and obviously EASY easy-installer!!
What I did to successfully upgrade my version 1.50 to 3.40 OE-A..
- Downloaded DAX & TEAM REGION easy installer from this forum
- Made sure I had my power cord plugged into my psp with power
- Ran the Easy Installer (NOT HAVING THE PSP IN USB MODE YET) and it said with flashing letters, "please connect your PSP"
- Then selected USB MODE on my PSP and the Easy Installer then changed to "START"
- That then saved all necessary files to my PSP under the Memory Stick Tab in order to flash and upgrade to 3.40 OE-A
- Went to Memory Stick Tab on PSP and Ran the 3.40 easy installer
- Gave me an option to either press "X" if OK TO FLASH or "R" if you do not approve and want to exit
- Pressed "X" and it started reading my 1.50 firmware and said ok and then it said WRITE 1.50 and that completed
- Next it read the 3.40 OE-A firmware from the Easy Installer and then said complete and started the WRITE PROCESS and then COMPLETE!
- The PSP told me to press "X" to restart the PSP and to manually power the PSP ON.
- I did, and when installing devhook 0.51 previously, I got a screen with about 15 different languages.. (Not too scared but was a little iffy)
- Waited a good 20 seconds and powered the PSP down and Powered it back on.
- It then went to the registration welcome screen as if I just purchased it. I set the settings and BINGO!
SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED 3.40 OE-A over top of my exhisting 1.50 that I had a hard time parting with!
This post is for everyone who is cautious about upgrading from 1.50 to 3.40 OE-A.. Trust me! IT ROCKS!

thanks man that was a really good guide but what am scared about is that my R button doesnt work and does it matter for me to ugrade to 3.40oe-a from my 1.5 or not?

I have yet to try other emulators and such (PSX, NES, ect) but I really do like the GUI on the updated 3.40 OE-A. It makes running ISOS alot easier as well as the Internet on my recent devhook 0.51 didnt work at all (maybe it wasnt supported :).... and now it does!
I like to keep things rather simple and enjoyable (my wife doesnt like things too complicated so it will work for her as well on plane trips)
As for using the "R" button, I have yet to use it and as for the install, it is not needed (unless you dont agree and want to escape the upgrade when using the Winstaller on your PSP which, why would you download it and look into it if you werent going to update? :)
To better help you, you might want to refer to someone else as to what the positives are about having 3.40 OE-A over the 1.50 and do a little reading in your spare time. As for me, it did exactly what I wanted it to (play ISOS easily rather than using Devhook bootup and the like)

hey farrari guy maybe u just need to take the trigger buton out o it then put it back in there this shoud work or if that doesnt then u need to use a nail filer or sumin or file it down because ive seen tutorials on this so if u are interested in fixing it use google

Why.. 3.40 OE-A is 1.50 firmware and 3.40 firmware.

because the main reason am worried about my R button not working is because i seen alot of people complaining about an error coming up and what there told is to goto recovery mode or something and click no umd or somthing and to get to recovery mode i think u need R button, but am not sure
