Hey darcon672 if you are still having problems with shoot em up.You may need to disable the autorun feature on your drive. Some dvds (shoot Em Up Included)have some features that launch automatically when inserted into a pc drive.
While showing you cool extra features on the disc it also prevents/disable the rippers from functioning.
Also you should alwayslaunch the ripper before inserting the disc.
BTW Both AnyDVD & DVDFab 4030 worked.

fixvts is easier to use than VOB Blanker if you want to use it

So I take it so far that for a DVDFab movie only rip, DVD Shrink is not able to process it? If so, looks like DVDFab is going to need another update.

So has anyone tried FixVTS after DVDFab on this movie (3:10 to Yuma) to see if it modifies the movie only rip where DVD Shrink won't say it's too big to process?

I had no problem with 3:10 to Yuma but had to run it through FixVTS first. This is what I did: Used AnyDVD ripper and ripped it to the HD then I ran it through FixVTS then used DVDShrink to shrink it down and Nero 66018 to burn it. I previewed it on my computer and it played just fine. Tonight I will watch the movie and let "ya'll" know how it did. Later George

Wanted to share a successful "3:10 To Yuma" backup -
1. Ripped with latest DVDFab HD Decrypter (4040Beta)
2. Processed with VOB Blanker
3. Compressed and burned with Nero 7
Checked disk on a Sony DVD player and everything looks great.
PS: I'm a brand new member and just wanted to thank everyone for their helpful input that I've been reading.

So far I've been able to run AnyDVD in the background and let DVDFab HD rip full disc to HDD, then FixVTS, DVD Shrink, burnt image using DVD Decrypter.. Watching dvd now, haven't had a problem yet!

3:10 to Yuma/Shoot em up both worked as below:
AnyDvD imformation: for 3:10 to Yuma
Video DVD (or CD) label: 310 To Yuma
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!
RCE protection not found.
Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
UDF filesystem patched!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 7 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!
these steps worked:
1.AnyDvD 6.3.0.3.(running background)
2.AnyDvD ripper (whole disk) to HD
3.FixVTS 1.603 (full Disk clean up)
4.DvDShrink (whole disk again)encode/rip to HD
5.DvDShrink (main movie only) to HD
6.ImgBurn burn(movie only)perfect backup on both.
the FixVTS still seems to work well.........
gday to all...............

After reading all the suggestions of what to use to get 3:10 to burn, I decided not to waste my little bit of banwidth I am allowed downloading more programs that I would have to figure out how to use. I simply used the latest DVDFab for just the main movie and used Nero 7 recode and it ripped perfect.
Would they medicate a schitzophrenic if the voices in their head told them to be a better person?

I had no problems using Just Nero 7 to rip "Movie Only", to 4.7 gb. I did a bit of trimming at the beginning and end of the movie, but had plenty of room (without) trimming to fit...

Quote: Is there a way to get AnyDVD for free? Right now Im 1 day into a 21 day free trial
No. Buy it if you dig it. No piracy.
Quote: How about getting a free copy of DVDFabHDdecrypter? Is there a free version? Again, I downloaded the software, and now I have a trial period.
If you download the beta version it is free and can be updated, if it's a trial version you either got Gold or Platinum.
Here's the recently updated free beta version:

Thanks everyone for the help on 3:10 To Yuma. I actually finally got it backed up and burned using the AnyDVD Ripper, then copied that file to Hard Drive, then used that 2nd file to open with DVD Shrink and was able to shrink and burn from there.
