Hi All, I recently moved into a new house and found there was a cable point, so i got myself a Eurovox Max V updated the firmware with 18.04.08 and everything worked as expected. Now i needed a phone and b/band for the new house so took a 28 day trial with VMedia. This included the full TV package. I disconnected the Eurovox before the service came on and let my neighbour use the eurovox for a few weeks (it worked fine in their house also). The 28 day trial is now up and I have cancelled all 3 services. Now when I try using the eurovox I am getting nothing. I have tried using 18.04.08 and 28.04.08 firmware but neither seem to work. The signal strength is either 8% (18.04.08) or fluctuating no higher than 23% (28.04.08). It doesn't seem to find any transponders and just seems to come up with "no channels available".
Does anyone know a way to fix this??
The TV aerial is hanging off the roof so I can't even pick up basic TV to watch. This suits me fine as I can play my xbox 360 but her indoors is doing my head in not being able to watch her crappy soaps!! Please somebody save me from the nagging!! lol
I live in north leicestershire with VM the provider.
Thanks in advance.

You have canceled your services so you have no longer got a live cable feed to your house you need to pay for the basic tv package in order to use the box

1. Hook up your Eurovox to your PC using a null modem cable. (9 pin female to 9 pin female). Null Modem Cable must be used, looks the same as a standard RS232 lead but it is wired differently.
2. Run the Kuro Unified Flash Loader (download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?xynenwxvyjy )
2a (Optional step: Press the Upload button to save your channel set up favourites etc as they currently are) Save this to a folder on your PC for use later.
3. Click on the 'download' button at the top of the screen.
4. The program will say 'Version 2.10 detected' (or it may say some other version!) and restart your Eurovox, it will then go through the downloading process, when finished it
will display 'Downloading is successful' .
5 . Press the Menu button on your remote, and then go into 'Config' menu and select 'Clear Data'
6. It will then ask for your PIN (default is 0000)
7.Then select 'Factory Default'
8. It will then ask you to select the symbol rate (I use 6.887 as I am on NThell Dublin).not sure if this matters at this stage though.
9. Press OK when 'Reset to Factory Default Settings' comes up
10. It will then say 'Wait to Factory Settings' and will then start to do a Full Power Scan (using the Symbol rate you selected earlier or you can change the symbol rate here)
11. It will then search through for channels, Go and make a cup of tea while it works away, do not interrupt it until it finishes.
12. It wil then exit to allow you to view your programs, but the code being updated message will probably come up for a while,
13. Put the box onto Sky Sports and go make another cup of tea. It may only take a few mins but again do not interrupt it (even if you think it is not working!)
14. Sky Sports will come up and all your channels will be back and you won't have to manually enter your codes anymore.
15. If you did the optional step at 2a, then browse to where you saved your file (CDF file) and click download in the lower box on the Kuro program, and it will reload your favourites etc. as
you originally had them.

Thanks Fergusrb, There was no service to the house when I moved in and the box worked fine then. Why would this be?

yes it was there from the previous tenant and was just overlooked for disconnection and once you took out the trial period for their services and then canceled it that is when they disconnected the feed going to the house
If you had just plugged your box in to the cable without them coming out you would have been alright
So now you need to get back on to them and take out a basic subscription with them so you can get your box up and running a little lesson to be learned here dont ask for trial period subscriptions if you have a live feed

Does the cable go into a box outside your house. if it does ckeck to see if the cable is connected to the point where you plug your cable inside the house.(they may of disconected it this what happpened to me.)

What firmware version did you use and what provider ID did you use? Also presume its a live feed and coax is in Cable In RF port on the back of the EV?

Halfway through one but doesn't look good, nothing found so far (500/770), now pretty sure 6887 is correct as I have checked my Starview and it is picking up channels ok with this setting, any other ideas?

If not try 6952 as you could be on either. But predominantly 6887 for your area. Make sure you have it scanning directly from the incoming feed. And you are in the Cable In RF socket on the back of the box.
