@gazza you need to no if its a starview 2(the box) or 3(super)
Fine and yourself I hope karl mate :)
LondonE13, how have you got the box connected, is it by a proven NULL MODEM lead only and not via an adaptor and what OS are you using XP or Vista.
Malci and karljd. That might be where my problem is.I am using an adapter with windows vista. My main computer is xp,but in the other room.Could I take the box to the computer to do it,or does it have to be wired up to the live cable wire.If it dosen`t and I can just plug the box in and wire it to the computer,I will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for your continued help.

Take it to your other PC the one with XP, and no it should not be wired to the Cable Feed, just to power and on standby okay.

yes you can just take the box to the other room it dose'nt need to be connected to tv when your flashing it, thats how i do mine and everyone elses who knocks at the door LOL. just connect to pc and leave box in standby, see karl and malci really know their stuff :)
EDIT: ah jeez Malci really am slowing in my old age LOL:)

irl-hawk,
Make sure the cable you have is a 'NULL MODEM' cable. I was trying to flash the box with a 'Serial Cable' which looks identical 9 pin female to 9 pin female .. however connection is different and it wont work. There are guys selling 'null modem' on flea bay for 99p. good luck. Joe 90.

working ok except when I set it to record. As soon as the programme I have set to record starts the box jumps to that channel and if I change back to the one I was watching(inc bbc) the whole thing freezes up and says No SignalT2. Any help appreciated

Anyone, just reflashed a starview 1 and think i have killed it because unknown to me it was a clone, should have checked first but too lazy and eurovox is my specialty, is there any method to reviving this clone without j tagging or soldering, or will i just use it as a door stopper, thanks in advance.
