FF XII. Are you getting tired of FF series?

Wow a lady... don't see many of those around... except in real life. Anyway, i seem to be getting to the end of a lot of RPG's and wussing out. For example, Star Ocean (firewall), Grandia III (Surmania, a little ways from the end, but not too long to go.) Its like i've lost interest. Sucks. Especially when you've got two stellar battle systems there to toy with.
If anyones interested, IGN have put up a feature on two games that i'm very interested in this year.

I dont know sicne FF8 the FF gmaes have been iffy I love FF9 its soild and fun comapred to any FF sicne 7 FFX was unblanced hated the equipment system the battle setup was ok yet annoying in soem way,FFX2 is jsut a spin off so I dont give it any credit..hell Mystic Quest was a better spin off and guess what..IT WAS FUN....that said FF12 should be a good coherant fun game if its not square has fallen.
Altho from what I have seen....DQ8 is as good as RPGs get....
BTW dose anyone know if Phansty Star Generations has come out of limbo yet?

haha yeahh ff series is amazing i love it
FF7 was a great game, i do hope that they bring it back, but aparently it was just a showing of graphics capability and not an actual trailer :(
ff8 was AMAZING, i just didn't finish the end of it, i got ps2 so yeah
ffx is amazing, i'm playing thru it right now nad i just love it...
FF 5 was sweetttt i remember playing roms of the old ff games, reminded me alot of hte old zelda stuff for SNES/NES
final fantasy is great... really really tight series.
I"m not tired of it at all, the only thing that i might be tired of is the entire random battles (that just annoys me), and in FFX, the trails... what the heck is up with that crap?!?!?

thats the trouble FF is not as tight as it ocne was once it go to 7 it started going down hill the "improvements" and "inovation" stuck in games like FF8,FFX and FFX2 leave me COLD and longing for the days when FF was fun.
My FF list
1.FF4 the gamepaly itself beats all other RPGS by a mile!
2.FF6 Stroy, gamepaly, charatcers whats nto to love aobut this classic?
3.FF7 Story,Gamepaly,Charatcers round out this great RPG.
4.FF9 refreshing change to a simple and fun gameplay makes this one of the better FFs today.
5.FF1 with the remakes you can enjoy this classic even more!
6.FFX the story alone is worth puting up with the gamepaly....
7.FF2 espanding on FF1s gamepaly with better options and more story
8.FF3 its a shame 2 and 3 didnt come out in the US they would ahve put DW in tis palce.
9.FFX2 messed up gamepaly with timed mission feels brngs this down to a SIDEQUEST or worse a lesser spinoff...
10.FF8 I hate the gamepaly with a passion,the equipment is also annoying
11.FF11 take your classic FF games jumble them up water them down to almost beign incoherant mess and you got FF11,the story in it is not so bad but this game is built around grinding that makes real life chores and work look fun.....

What is so bad about ffx? I like the gameplay, it's not bad at all. the only prob i can se w/ the leveling up section is the idea of powerleveling your characters and running out of new crap to give them.
But the gameplay itself is not bad at all.
what are some 'points' of gameplay that agitate you?

I dilike the 2 equpment system,ever sicne FF7 they been trying to ditch a normal set or equpment and franky the normal has always been better,altho FF7 dose do it 2nd best.
Equipment customizeing should have been done from the start at the tech shops not half way thru the game when whats her name finaly joins you.
Sphere grid is ok nthign overly great about it its just ok.
Mini games are not powers >>....lest not for main charatcers....
Charatcer balance is a bit off but not to bad
Iffy voice acting but worse I have seen..far far worse (Legaia 2)
all in all games like FF4 and 6 still beat it to death gamepaly wise.
that said FFXs best asset is the story whitch is not to bad..but I think FF4 and 6 might have better charatcer dev....mmmm
the blitz ball tut is almost completely confuseing,it takes 3 or 5 games to undrstand it.
FFX is not horrable ...but all the little thigns jsut add up....
Altho I would like to see a exp system of FF8 and FFX crossed where you find the items to upgrade your stats but you can chose what stats to upgrade and are only limited by item reqs for power,prehaps more like the feeding of the summons altho better baanced for charatcer use....
ah well in any case FF12 will be my last FF for the next 5 or so years anywy *L* least till the PS3 becoems reasonabley priced *L*
still if they cant pull off a nice and fun game...I dunno mabye I am gettign more jaded in my old age *L*

Yeah I agree on alot of those points, they should have allowed you to mod your weap in ff8 earlier, and if they did cross, that would be an amazing exp system. Difficult to create choices, sa they would be rather limitless if you are leveled up alot in terms of strength...
So it would be kind of like you could buy this weapon/upgrade and use it only if you have __ strenght __ dex __ x __x type thing?

depending on class its every 2 items for every point above the basic stat untill you get mabye 5 or 10 points up then it either requires 10 or 20 per level or 2 of a new item this way you can keep a balance to it yet let people build thier charatcers anyway they want,mind you when it comes to stats I'd like mroe controll but with abiltes...this everyone can get everythign crap...is well...crap...altho the shere grid on FFX dose let you do this but only after you have somewhat mastered/leveld up that class,if they had more shere shops that let you custmize your charatcers alittle more it would ahve been a but better mabye...i dunno I have been pretty much disilluioned with all these attemps at "innvation" however FF7 and FFX while not perfect do have some redeming qaulites...but still I am gettign tired of medicoreness and fustraion 0-o
I love FF9 its the best balanced of any of the 3D FF's,FFX2 is a spin off so I wont bash it .....alot *L*

I can become a afterdawn addict member if I wanted to easily.... It's just a title that anyone with half a brain can get if they just spend their precious night time just getting post. I have been using afterdawn for 2 and a half years now.....xhardcorex and I think I might have remember when the returner was a newbie. And since I am William Wallace....titles mean nothing to me. I just thought the returner was being stupid.... by asking some silly questions....
There are alot of retards out there that think just because they post useless crap just to get their ranks up........everyone will respect them.
Oh.....by the way.... Final Fantasy 8 is the best final fantasy ever. It beats the crap out of final fantasy 7. The best thing about final fantasy 7 is just it's materia system and emeral and ruby weapon... other than that final fantasy 7 is a joke. Althougth FF8 may lack on the battle system.......everything else more than makes up for it. Stop lying to yourselfs.....FF8 is the best.

Yeah for sure i feel ya on that one, just use the stats and have certain customizations like special armors/ability to make your own armor, so kinda like the TES system/Diablo system...

I completely agree, I have yet to play ff9 though.... i heard that one sucked for a while, but i suppose i'll have to make it...
I also agree with the pompus stance that square has taken.... they need to make better games :-D

People.....People....Are you guys just like 6 years old? Come on! Can you say "MATURITY"? Unless, you are a 30 year old still obessed about barbies and disney characters.....you would want your games to have a mature and realistic feel to it.
FF8 is the best, because it was the first ff game to have an mature feel to it and the graphics were AMAZING.... Don't lie to yourself.... You know you sh*t your pants when you first played the demo for ff8 that came with blade fencer musashi because the game just had such a great VIBE to it. Squall's character was awesome and his "lionheart" limit sequence, alone, kicks the crap out of ff7. ff8's music is much better than ff7's.
FF7 had tiny and unpoportion characters. Square knew that ff7 suck so bad that they had to add emeral and ruby weapon onto the U.S. version so people wouldn't poop that pants because the game without emeral and ruby weapon would have suck so much. Cloud's background story, Tifa's music theme, the materia combo system, and emeral and ruby weapon is the only thing good that ff7 has to offer.
Overrall, the only reason why people choose ff7 over 8 is because ff7 "supposely" made the "RPG" genre popular again on next-gen 32 bit consoles such as the psx. However, other rpg games such as "Wild Arms" and "Beyond the Beyond" and "Sudiken" were released well before ff7 so you can't use this arguement that ff7 was the game that bought the rpg genre back to popularity. Also rpg games like chrono trigger and ff3 on the SNES made the "rpg" genre popular already well before ff7's time. FF8 is the best!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!

ZIppyDSM, are you on drugs? Just looking at the cover of ff9 makes me want to throw up....The hero in that game looks retarded and has a tail and what not!!!!! Not to mention that the characters are all like 3 feet tall.......PLEASE!!! If you are like 4 years old then I can understand why this retarded looking game and it's retard characters appeal to you. PLEASE!!!!!! FF9 was developed by square interns because at that time, the smart and good people at square were working on FFX instead. FF9 was a game put together in two days to get make so quick cash before the psx died. "Final fantasy 9"...Huh? Don't make me laugh!!!!!!

Thats the dumbest thing anyones said yet. Emerald (learn to spell it dude) and Ruby weapons didnt make the game, its a fantastic game from the offset and only gets better as you venture further on. It had unproportioned characters because the game was "supposed" to be anime-inspired. FF8 had more lifelike graphics, and this was done on purpose to increase the scope of popularity, and just because they could. (they were showing off basically) Those few games that u stated, well, Beyond the Beyond was cruddy, and Wild ARMS and Suikoden (learn to spell that too) were games that were just starting out as a series, so they werent as popular as the ever-growing Final Fantasy series.
In short, Final Fantasy VII popularized the RPG genre on the PS1, maybe not for the hardcore RPGamers, but more for the casual gamer. So, the lesson here is... If you're gonna diss a game (especially a fantastic one) you better have some great reasons to back it up, and not be completely biased towards one game.

Oh, and i love all the FF's ive played.
What a bastard... all he does is diss people and games... such views arent appreciated here bud. Wow, Zidane had a tail, that makes him a total retard right? Wrong. If you played the game through and actually understood the storyline (which, based on your idiotic views, id say you didnt) you'd know WHY he has a tail. Also, FF9 was the only FF game on the PS1 that exploited different races and creeds, which for me made the game more interesting. It had a solid skill system, a good cast of characters (not the best though, FF8 rocked in that department) and a fantastic storyline. A great addition to the series, just a little bit different (due to a different production team, probably.) A true gamer and RPGfan could appreciate these differences. Guess that counts you out bud.

hmm... Simply put, each FF game has it's pros and cons and they all appeal to maybe a slightly different audience while some apear to all and otehrs appeal to none.

well let answer this question: how many times do you play your best FFVII or FFVIII or FFX or etc..? The game that you play most is the best game.
For me, FF Static is the best game in FF serires. I have played it over 10 times. Other FF series, I only play 1 time.

Like i said, i love all FF games ive played. Its alright if vgaddict8 has his own views, but he's expressing them in the wrong way. Im just defending the games that i like. If vgaddict8 actually had some valid points, then he'd be worth listening to. Otherwise, he's just making himself look like an idiot.

I know I'm the new person here, but I have to put my 2 cents in. I've also loved every FF game I've played...both on PS and PS2. I wasn't thrilled with the sphere grids, but I loved the story line. I must admit that I never got passed Yunalesca in FFX, and quit, but I still loved the game, and will someday go back to finish it. Heck, I even liked FF Tactics, and that was just fighting!!
I do get tired of the random battles though. However, there's usually some accessory you can pick up to cut down on those...or I just 'run' when I'm sick of it.
You have to admit that the characters on FFX and FX-2 were endearing, or do I think that because I'm a woman? ~L~

I didnt mind playing FFX-2 at all, found it quite fun actually, there was a multitude of things to do, and different ways to dothem, so that elusive 2nd playthrough wasnt that difficult to do. I did have to use a guide to get 100% completion though.

Actaully, I have gotten tired of the FF series.... I guess Im kinda an older timer gamer. I grew up with Atari,then Nintendo then the rest.... I know everyone love the whole graphics thing...i do too.. but I love my older versions of FF.... I honest love SNES FF...... Call me crazy..
