Know what you mean I was so happy with my USB Plex 716A that I got an internal 716A. Just burned a DL with it a few days ago, The Constant Gardener. Used my last not so good Ritek and darned if it did not come out perfect. Burned at 2.4X with no problems.

I have also had probs. with Ritek. Do you have a slow down with the external drive? I don't think I have ever had a problem with clone or anydvd as far as speed it seems to burn fairly quick

No, the external is just as fast as the internal. It can rip like lightning. The burn speed is consistent and no buffer fluctuations.

Is the AnyDVD / CloneDVD 2 combo compatable with Sonic? I have tried DVDShrink / DVDDecrypter with it and had nothing but problems. I have a lightscribe is the only reason I would like to keep Sonic. I know there is Nero, but don't want to shell-out the extra 75 bucks if not needed.

I have Sonic, it came with my lightscribe burner and I have had no problems with it and any of my other programs, which include all the ones you mention. Sonic will burn iso files that are made by Shrink/Decrypter and even Clone if you want it too.

I downloaded shrink/decrypter and fabdecrypter but then when I would try and use Sonic it wouldn't detect the burner. I uninstalled them, did a system recovery and now it detects the drive. ??? Should I give it another try?

Here are some guides for Shrink, DVD Fab and DVD Decrypter

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup%20with%20DVDFABDecrypter,S...

Also here is a guide for an everything you want to know about Shrink

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=63fd9ea0d669cdf5...

You realize that you do not need to use Sonic to burn a DVD to a lightscribe disk you can use any program. You only need the labelmaking program in Sonic to make you coverart.

Thanks for the reply and links. I have read the first one already.

Yeah, I realize I don't need Sonic to burn the disc. I just wanted to keep Sonic to make lightscribe labels. But after downloading the other programs my drive wasn't detected in Sonic. Is it possible to have Shrink, decrypter and fabdecrypter along with Sonic? I thought I had read somewhere, after the problems I had, that Sonic would cause problems?

I have Shrink, Decrypter, CloneDVD, AnyDVD, CopyToDVD, Nero, Xcopy, VobBlanker and none of these effect Sonic. I can still use it and it works fine. You can try uninstalling it and reinstalling it and see if it detects your drive.

Thanks arniebear!

I had completely uninstalled shrink, dvdfab, and decrypter when I ran into the problems before. My burn drive wasn't being detected so I ended up doing a system recovery. My drive was then detected.

I downloaded shrink, dvdfab, and decrypter again today. It seems to be working now. I backed-up 3 of our movies without problem. Also, I used the Sonic program to burn lightscribe covers on them. Very cool!

Hi..I am thinking of purchasing both AnyDVD and clone dvd..take advantage of the 2 program purchase discount...I like AnyDVD but does clone dvd do what DVD Shrink will do for me...
I like to copy the movie in an ISO format to my hard-drive and then I can make my copies from that.
With DVD Shrink this is so easy..how is it with clone dvd???

Yes you can copy your file to your HDD in ISO using Clone and it is easy. You just choose ISO as your ouput and then choose the folder you want Clone to put the file in.

Just do it! I tried the hacked version of AvyDVD and CloneDVD and wasted my time. You need the newest editions to get the newer movies like The Fog, The Cave, and Flight Plan.

Purchase them for $59.00 and you will probably not have to post another question for quite some time.

Good luck.

Buy direct from slysoft and get updates as they come out clone and anydvd are probably the best thing going right now. Imageburn is good just for burning but it cannot compress. Imageburn is a free software by LUK.

I have been using AnyDVD for a few months now and love it as it will handle anything I throw into my drive. I have tried numerous times to purchase from their site and have had my card rejected every time. I had my bank open my card to international transactions and still am unable to purchase. I have a couple grand on my card so I know that is not the problem. Any Suggestions?.. would even be willing to paypal someone to buy it for me.
