No insight on them but I wouldn't buy them. They may just follow that saying 'you get what you pay for' :)

For that price cincyrob - try em - what have you got to lose :)
Most of the verb cd's I've had are CMC - kinda hit or miss at times.
Not sure who makes the ones in the link.

thats weird about the verbatim CD-R's they are CMC Mag...i got a few from my sister and checked them and they said CMC. so i guess outside of finding MJI maxell's there really isnt that much to chose from a top notch CD-R blank.
in the past i have used about 200 memorex cd-r, but not printables. other than burning them to fast(48-52x) i havent really had any problems out of them...

Made in Japan Fuji are good too - they're also made by Taiyo.
The verbs I had some burn failures or Nero would adjust the burn speed down on them.

Not all Rocs.
Just depends on who actually made them. They uses different manufacturers so can be hit or miss on who you get.
That's why I stick w/ the made in Japan only Maxell or Fuji - Taiyo Yuden makes those.

Mort81..cant really say about staples...but office depot brand all I've bought have been Ritek..so if staples is Ritek, then U should be OK
Just my opinion..but I've not really had any bad luck with so called inferior Disc..I am truely of the belief that a lot of problems are with inferior burners [name brands included, especialy those that come in dedicated Computers].But again this is just my opinion,my experience has been with Plextor,Nec,Teac,Ben-Q Burners..I have some old name brand[CircuitCity-CompUSA-Staples 4-5 yrs old]& they are still kickin..But again I've only got a couple thousand Disc.I'm still an amatuer

Oops my bad. I confused the staples brand with office depot. I meant office depot brand dvd's used to be ritek. I don't know who makes staples brand dvd's or cd-r's.

Staples DVDs are as follows:
8x +R - CMagE01 or MBIPG101R04
16x +R - CMagM01
8x -R - CMagAE1 or FUJIFILM03
16x -R - CMagAM3
and if you happen to find 4x +R or -R . . Optodisc
If the Staples CD-R are anything like the DVDs . . . Don't bother!

I done good. Found some Maxell cd-r pro's at staples. Taiyo Yuden's. Little pricy but you get what you pay for. They also had some sony audio cd-r's MIJ for about half the price. I considered those too but knew I most likely couldn't go wrong with the maxell's.

I would love to jump in here I would say try most quality media and decide yourself. In Australia I have found TDK to be great but others disagree I try to stick to the one type of cdr once I trust it.
I tried Imation and the burns skipped but perhaps the burner did not appreciate them I also tried a cheap brand once and after one failed burn I swore to never buy cheap discs again.
I even go to the extreme of taking a cdr to a store and testing it on a potential new stereo system before buying. (so I know it will play my burns)
not much choice of cdr in australia at the moment perhaps the major players are TDK, Sony, Benq, Verbatim, Imation and Memorex. along with countless cheaper brands
