RipIt4Me will rip in iso mode if that is what you choose and then you can just use ImgBurn to burn the file. ImgBurn does a great job with calculating the layer break. You can also use the file from DVDFab with Imgburn but just convert it to an iso and then burn with ImgBurn. Here is another example of creating an iso with ImgBurn from a file.

I did Poseidon (DL)with ImgBurn in ISO build and write modes. Sweet results. Layer break went unnoticed in viewing.

No problem using AnyDVD and clone, and don't let anybody scare you about them not bieng around, they are here to stay, easy as hell burning, no confusing configurations, any novice can master it, and yes it's not free, but it's also not expensive, if you can afford a computer you can AnyDVD, clone, or both.

i been havin problems with silent hill just like alot of you.i have an updated version of AnyDVD and i usually run it while i compress and rip with shrink.it kept goin to %32 just in the analyzing stage and it would stop.so basically if yer not bothered by all the features on the disc and you just want the movie, you can do what i did.i let it analyze it to %32,then the error would pop up,ignore and move on to next step, then i hit "reauthor",dragged title 1(the movie itself) over to the left it analyzed and ripped it just fine.done and done

Make sure you have the latest versions of AnyDVD 6.0.5.0 and CloneDVD2 2.9.0.1. Try using the AnyDVD ripper and make sure you have the remove blank/unreferenced cell box checked and then rip to your HDD and process with Clone. Or read through the thread and try any of the free version programs listed that can do this movie.

You may get faster time because you are ripping and encoding at the same time, DVDFab Decrypter will just rip you then still need to encode. You probably will shave maybe five minutes off your time by not ripping first. But ripping to your HDD first give you more flexibility if you want to use another program other than Clone to transcode.

I just don't understand why it's so hard for "newbies" and others to rip this movie (SILENT HILL). Either you guys are doing something wrong, a ghost is messing up your system, you're not following the process right or you got a defected disc.

Both "arniebear and I" have already provided the mini/basic guide on page 2, so either use it (RipIt4Me or DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker) or pay for AnyDVD and updates the program whenever SlySoft updates to a new version.

Good luck to all and enjoy your backup.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

The Software you mention does it have the option to rip to IFO mode you are not understanding because you dont do I can rip a DVD any jack can rip and burn these DVD's in dvd format but the problem lies on conversion with AutoGK to XviD for instance autogk needs IFO files. And no IFO mode does not work straight up with RipIt4Me... It is an issue try it for yourself... Go buy and rip it in IFO mode to use in AutoGK.

By the way you talk you don't own a copy or have access to one and you definately just rip and burn keeping MPEG2 DVD format and dont do anything beyond that.

But hey thats my assumption just like the assumption you just made.

Using RipIt4Me and DVDDecrypter in the menu "Mode" put it on IFO and watch it hang around 12,983 kb. I dont have the sectors in front of me currently but they appear to be on the PSL file heck even import the PSL yourself... after switching modes to IFO.

Something is kinda strange about this to me. Protected Sector List should work just fine...

DVDDecrypter shoulda been open sourced so someone could continue its development the way it was...

OK.. I was trying to help those that are having issues ripping this movie called SILENT HILL and now you're throwing a fist right at me for nothing? Do me a favor, reread my posted to see if that's directly to you before making any contact directly toward me. The reason I posted is for newbies or those keep saying that THEY CAN'T rip this movie whatsoever. It is coincidence that your posted happened to be above mine that's it, simple as that. Isn't it ironic don't you think?

First of all, I did not replied it straight directly to you. If I was to replied back to you, then I would have used the @infringer. Hmmmm... now does that rings a bell?

Second of all, learn how to treat others with respect, especially if your the one who's looking for helps.

Third of all, what you've said here; "By the way you talk you don't own a copy or have access to one and you definately just rip and burn keeping MPEG2 DVD format and dont do anything beyond that." clearly proved that you're one "ignorant newbie" whom have no respect and consideration of others. By the way I talked here at AD I've help tons and tons of newbies, starting from the Nero forum, DVD-R/+R Media forum, DVD-R/+R for Newbies, PS2 DVD Backup forum, DVD Shrink forum, etc. And who are you to judge me that I don't own the original? For god sake, maybe it's you that don't have the original and you wanted to convert into XviD or AVI so you can upload it on the internet?

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Perhaps you could contact Macrovision for the rights to the source code for this and continue development, but I doubt they'd give it to you.

EDIT: Here is another guide for you using IFO mode with DVD Decrypter.

Also, if you feel that RipIt4Me needs some tweaking in this area then go to Digital Digest and post on this thread where suggestions for improvement are taken.

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=68584

Or you can try running AnyDVD behind Decrypter and rip in IFO mode. Don't know if this will work, as the file needs a cleanup, but it is a suggestion.

Since this is the Shrink forum, the question about ripping to XviD has not come up.
