Hi all intresting thread but I have got a strange secondery code on my 3 red light xbox all it does is flash the 4 lights ie 0000 but it never returns to the 3 red lights no matter how many times i press the eject button.
This xbox was modded by me about 4 weeks ago its a benq and I put 1.61 on it is there any connection ?

According to this http://xbox-experts.com/errorcode/E00/0000/ it could be a problem in the southbridge where the error code is calculated so the xbox cant really figure out what's going on. Your best bet would be to flush underneath the hana/southbridge/gpu chips with flux or at least isopropyl alcohol to remove dust and "tin whiskers". Then doing a reflow with heatgun or oven (i prefer heatgun). The method in my sig will reflow the southbridge/hana/gpu.

Have an NTSC 360 that RROD for the second time. Really want to fix it as I live in Ireland so NTSC 360's are hard to come by and I love american sports games which aren't all available on PAL. The first time I did the X-Clamp fix I overheated for a minute to resolder after doing all the other stuff. No problems for 9-10 months.
I have ordered a heat gun, talismoon whisper legacy fan, arctic silver 5 thermal paste and plan on following wOOlys video ^^^^. I also plan on cutting the mesh behind the fan if I fix it. Is there anything else I should know. Would I be better off paying to have it reflowed properly? Really want this fixed.

i have the e74 error code and the 1022 secondary code. it says it might be a scaler chip problem but how do i fix that problem?
